I've been through quite a lot with the game myself so I'm glad I was finally able to go back and replay it and make an in depth, comprehensive video about it. Some of my feelings on the game have changed a lot throughout the years, while some still haven't. I hope you guys enjoy the video!
Beautiful world with a horrible grind! And holy crusader were there way too many icons! Honestly I couldn’t get into the story either. But hey to each their own
You are correct in everything you've ever said about Odyssey; it absolutely IS a repetitive grind of copy/paste enemy camps, collectibles and side quests. But god damn it, I just cant help myself. It's like videogame cocaine; I know it's bad for me and I should stop but every couple years I get the urge to fire it back up and join Alexios hacking and slashing through Greece. I just finished the Atlantis DLC about a month ago and don't know what to do with myself right now. What the hell is wrong with me? (lol) Always LOVED the way you ripped on this game as well 😆
I don't care what anyone says. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the journey, the music, the characters, the setting - this one of my favorite games of all time.
Yeah I spent so many hours immersed in the world of Greek mythology, drama, love and war. And with the addition of the secret cult it made it so mysterious and fun exploring the lands. Definitely one of my favorite games, wish I could sleep in this world.
Ubisoft has a real struggle with this. They could've removed the AC elements and made it an action RPG set in Greece, and I think more people would've loved it. So then they get Star Wars, and make a game that has nothing to do with AC........only to make it a primarily stealth game, and a terrible stealth system. @@177SCmaro Yeah, I didn't realize investors were putting that pressure on, but seems like that's the case. Then Ubisoft just fills the positions as quickly as possible to meet guidelines, and THEN tells employees how to keep Ubisoft out of the news by making all their accounts private. That is a super weird area I didn't think I'd see gaming go. As for AC, definitely no one knows what the original games were, and they just slap a stealth mechanic, that isn't even functional, and call it AC. I mean, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla....stealth was so weak and unnecessary. Then you've got this ridiculous Star Wars game, where it's the same terrible animation knocking out enemies that are wearing armor with two ridiculous looking punches. @@177SCmaro Absolutely. Ori was actually one of the games I was thinking of, heh. And yeah, I totally agree about the management. All the investors did (blackrock and vanguard) was set an ESG score, and Ubisoft just completely screwed up attaining that, by filling positions IMMEDIATELY with the next available DEI hire, instead of taking time. So my problem with the investors is putting that ESG score out there to begin with, but Ubisoft's management really, really blew it trying to hit that score. For me it was Second one cause i played Black Flag on Xbox 360 and in Odyssey I feeled like its Black Flag but on sterydes. And that was a great feeling.
Art is subjective, BUT....holy mother of Christ! Most fun you've ever had playing a game? I love this game but that is just really sad to me for some reason.
You mean excessively bloated with useless boring tasks, preditory microtransactions, bad combat and stealth. Yea the game was great lol. The only positive i can give this game is the world was beautiful and the story was not terrible
I’m a huge original assassins creed fan and I still really loved odyssey. A great rpg, I 100 percented it twice. Didn’t deserve the hate in my opinion.
I love the game so much. It's gorgeous, and so much fun. If it didn't have "Assassin's Creed" in the title, and had just been a fun open world game set in Ancient Greece, I think it would have been universally beloved. As it stands, it remains one of the most fun games I've ever played.
As someone who absolutely LOVES anything having to do with ancient Greece, this game was pretty much everything I could have wanted for a game set during that time period.
Yeah, I don't really consider them AC games, more like spinoffs in a different genre. I leave it to the people into that sort of thing and just play the old games when I want to play AC.
I had no attachment to AC at all when I played Odyssey. It's such a special game to me. I bought it because I liked one of the gameplay trailers and it was just so cool. One of my favorite games ever and it took me by surprise. Nothing will recapture that magic but I really hope the devs can create a new kind of magic with Shadows.
From making fun of AC Odyssey to making a 2 hour long retrospective, that's some character development😂. Though ngl, I was genuinely curious of your thoughts after all these years, so I'm gonna enjoy watching this one
Odyssey is where all my friends who enjoyed the AC games since part 2 truly checked out and all my friends that didn't care about AC at all checked in.
I'm 42 years old and have been a hardcore gamer since the 80s, and to this day Odyssey is one of my favorite games ever. Possibly even in top 5. It was such an immersive , epic , well made game and its rhe last game Ubisoft made that I felt was made by a team of passionate talented people who had a vision and genuinely enjoyed making it a reality. I have zero negative things to say about the game. I used to HATE your vidoes making fun of this game, becuase it seemed to me you were too hung up on the "assassians creed" in the title, almost to a comical degree. It's like to me , who cares ? Just get some duct tape and tape it over that part of the title on the game cover. There. Done. Watching this, I'm happy even you finally saw the brilliance of this game. Valhalla was a massive step down in every way from this game and Shadows doesn't look very promising at all either. I beat this game 3 times, with my last playthru being NG++ where I literally completed every single question mark on all the maps, DLC included. Now months later.... I'm thinking of doing it all over again. It takes about 170 hours to truly 100% the game that way
Odyssey might be one of my favourite game ever. Probably not a perfect Assassin's Creed game, but a great game overall! I am actually replaying it right now, Greece looks amazing! Great for history lovers.
Odyssey is by far the best in the new format games. When I first played it the plot really caught me with it, along with the absolutely stunning scenery. Also I really liked the voice acting along with the humor they threw around. What the game really did was spark my love for Greece. First thing I did when the game finished was book tickets and go solo for 10 days around the classical Greece. That was the best Odyssey I got.
Odyssey, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2 and Horizon Zero Dawn were by far my favorite games on the PS4 all of them were just so fun, and from 2016-2020 there were so many great games made
It's still my favorite of the rpg trilogy, i was playing it before i saw this video on my notifications. Kassandra is one of my favorites protagonists, number one still being connor
Odyssey was my first AC game ever, so it has a special place in my heart ;) It has its advantages and disadvantages, but I enjoyed to play it a lot and it make me explore the rest of the franchise. I will replay it soon, but this time I'll focus on the main story, without trying to finish every single mission, I guess that it will make it even better experience. Main advantage: the acient Greece main disadvantage: too much of everything (too big, too long, too much loot, too many quests etc) take care and keep up the good world MasterAssassin
Odyssey was my first assassin's creed game that I truly fell in love with. I love Odyssey for what it is because I had no concept of what a normal AC game was. Odyssey brings me so much joy through its beautiful world, engaging combat, and so so so much Greek mythology lmfao
YES. This game has a HUGE place in my heart. This game kept me going after a horrible break-up, it gave me something I was lacking in that time of my life: compassion, empathy and love. The DLC stories made me cry so hard-- Which in today's gaming world to have that emotional attachment to characters is hard to come by. It felt as if I were back to my childhood, playing games not for constant updates and microtransactions and competition, but to help the characters along their journey and make the best choices I felt I could make and have a blast and emotional ride at the same time. Hot DAMN this game was amazing. I've only put about 200 hours into it at this point, but even in that short span of time, I have enjoyed it hardcore. The music is beautiful, the combat is FUN; Holy crap I never use big weapons in games, but I love my fire-y giant sledgehammer/mace/thingy tearing down enemies and pretty much feeling Kassandra's enjoyment as she smacks down some baddies. By the by, her voice actress is awesome and man I've had video game crushes (Lookin' at you, Piper... Fallout 4 lol), but Kassandra is a great character. She got my heart pitter-pattering after hearing her pains and becoming determined to help her with tears in my eyes trying to save everything she held dear. To the team that worked so hard on this game, you have my heart
One of the best journeys I've had in the world of Assassin's Creed. The amount of freedom in this game is indescribable. The amount of fighting, abilities, and weapons is excellent. I hope Shadow is like Odyssey.
I was lucky in the sense that this was the first assassin Creed game I ever played. That said it’s one of my favorite all-time games. Definitely doesn’t deserve all of the hate.
I got this game at launch but didn't finish it until 2021. Unfortunatly when it came out it was near RDR2 which i think is one of the most beautiful and impressive games ever made. Stil Odyssey is an incredibly gorgeous game with an amazing depiction of Ancient Greece. That's what I love the most of it, its beauty and world.
Odyssey remains my second favorite Assassin's Creed game, only behind Black Flag, and I am happy that you have come back to it with a more open mind than you had when you started this game,
I always saw this game as the "Isu" AC game. You play as a demigod in the AC world where gods were Isu (i.e. Juno etc being names after roman gods back in AC2). So being a demigod in AC means being half human half Isu. The DLCs assert this more, but I always saw it as the AC game that gives more focus on the Isu and the Peices of Eden. I also saw this as why we get to be so overpowered towards the end. Just like in other mythological tales, the longer the story, the stronger they get. Till the end of the game where you're basically untouchable
Except it gets all of that wrong in all ways possible. People who have complained lore breaking aspects in other franchsie hasnt suffered what Odyssey had done to the franchise its part of.
@@TheFirstCurse1 I'm going to be brief here. ruins Junos character and motives, retcons the powers of the apples of Eden making them make no fucking sense, the entire fucking olympos project. creating an immortal character that was alive during all events in the rest of the saga but NEVER APEARED before even when the entire world was at stake, giving the spear more power than any other piece of Eden we've seen in the entire series(seriously, if this thing existed literally what was the point of the apples and the swords), ruining darius, RE RE retconning the leap of faith AGAIN. and generally misunderstanding the very theme of the assassin's brotherhood and their conflict to its very core. is that enough?
@@taekwondorianPlayed for just 3h so far and I like it a lot more than Origins. Every aspect of this game is better in my opinion and the gameplay feels less clunky and much deeper than Origins. It also helps that Ancient Greece is my favorite time period in history 😊
Assasins Creed Odessy is my No. 2 video game of all time. It's so beautiful. All the hate I can get from a community that expected one thing and got something completely different. However, as a standalone fame. It is a work of art. The detail, the history, the stories both main and side. Not to mention the option a player has to play. You can progress normally, but it also has game breaking combinations you can use if you wanna go that route. However, there is nowhere in the game that these are necessary for progression. You can hate all you want, but as an RPG, it is beautiful.
@kauffamn1016 no I was playing wrong I played it as a normal assassin creed game until I found out about the crit chance and crit damage also go to hephaisos cave and learn abilities it stacks up your hit points think highest crit chance I hit was 1.8 million point hits taking mythical creatures out with 2-3 hits as before I was only managing to get 30k hits
@@kauffamn1016 gear doesn't matter one bit as long as some specific stats are there (damage with what you want to use, crit damage and crit chance are the best and defense doesn't matter at all) what you need in every piece of gear is crit damage, crit chance, damage with weapon type, and ''class'' damage that you want (assassin, warrior or hunter) for example the perfect warrior sword should have: warrior damage, damage with swords and crit damage (purple rarity) but even a blue sword with damage with swords is good if you have high enough crit chance and crit damage
@@unicorntomboy9736it definitely didn’t. It was better than most, not the best but most and the gameplay was a blast and stuck to the ac identity of actually being an assassin
I am coming up on my 120 hours playing Odyssey. I finished Origins last month and put in 120 hours to complete all content including DLC. I loved Origins and when I first started playing Odyssey I was not the biggest fan as I felt they didn't include many of the things I liked in Origins or changed them in ways I was not certain I liked at first. After playing it for a while now I have grown to really enjoy many things about Odyssey. I know I am like 6 years late, but I really do enjoy that there are a big community of fans and content creators I can enjoy this game with 6 years after the game released. Once I have completed all content for Odyssey I plan on jumping right into Valhalla. I am expecting nearly 300 hours of game in that game. Thank you for your videos! I do enjoy them a lot.
As a total classics/ history nerd I loved this game. Even though it is not perfect, the world building and design to me was amazing. It was the first AC game I played and one of the first games I played ever so as a stand alone game it was great.
The graphics and landscapes are just so beautiful and I like looking to make sick photos and backgrounds! The developers were so in tune with this they automatically knew to give ppl the ability to take sick photos. The music is also captivating 😢
I started playing odyssey after Red dead 2, and it was nice to ride near a cliff without having an anxiety attack. One of my favourite games in the series, but the bullet sponge type enemies have stopped me from getting into it again. Kassandra is one of my favourite protagonists in all of gaming. The actress did an amazing job.
For me this is ironic. I first played assassins creed Oddssey all the way back in December 2019. I spent 71 hours playing the game and completed the main story. And then I never picked or thought about playing it again. Until, two weeks ago. I have now put in another 30 hours into my original play through just completing side content and getting achivments. And I still have a dozen side quests to do. My point being is my original reason for picking up the game was to get the achievements for the base game. Not to play it. Now, my reason has changed to wanting to simply plow every waking hour I have to just play the game. this game has stood the test of time and deserve to be recognised as a good game. So to see a lengthy reflection on the game is perfect timing for me. I am interested in what other think about 6 years on from when it first released. Thanks for making the video in an advance as I watch it with intrigue.
I am loving this game. The greek Ideology, the map, the music, it just takes me to a whole another world. I am still playing this game. Let me finish it ! ❤
You do not need to bring your ship to a full stop to make hard turns. There's a "drift" mechanism which works really well while at speed. Use the button that brings the sails down, hold it, and turn.
Master assassins puts out a ghost of Yōtei video, then pumps out a 2 hour long video just 4 days later?! Best AC UA-camr, please try and change my mind.
Honestly games these days are not that far off .. even 5-7 years ago they were just as good as now .. there’s no real leap in gaming now for the most part
Dude you put so much work into this, I don't even like Assassin's creed but your deep dive is phenomenal! Definitely tuning in to hear your thoughts on other titles as well
I watched the whole Vid and rlly liked that full review, I would like if u make more of this format with other AC games. Like u said at the end u also wanted to do Valhalla. But ofc I understand u need a pause and I respect the work and time u spent doing this vid. Thanks man, one of the best AC UA-camrs, much love
I don't understand why ppl were "shocked" by odyssey. Did you completely ignore origins? The gameplay is more or less the same. Both are amazing games. They may have strayed from OG AC concepts, but thats irrelevant
If this game were not part of Assassin's Creed and was just an ancient Greek game, everyone would love it. I know I love it. Odyssey and Black flag are still my favorite AC games.
I felt the same way about AC Odyssey, hated that it wasn't assassin's creed but gave it a shot and had a blast. Since AC Shadows is more AC than it maybe it might be one of the best AC Games since Origins.
@@unicorntomboy9736it barely has any slight connections to the Assassins. It's set before origins and the only thing that ties into Origins or any of the other games is the Cult, which (afaik) shapes the Order of the Ancients from Origins. The only thing all AC games share is the Animus and the Isu, although those are often barely relevant for the vast majority of the game.
49:00 actually there is a skill called "Rapid fire", which is equivalent to a Light Bow, but it can only be obtained with the "Legacy of The First Blade" DLC, if I remember correctly.
I absolutely love this game but I had only started playing AC on Origins so I didn't have the emotional connection to the previous games that a lot of folks had. I think the scenery and music are freaking epic! Also I think people need to take other people's opinions with a grain of salt. Everyone is different and things are going to appeal to everyone in a different way. People connect to certain elements based on your personal life experience in this world and believe me there is a wide range of life experiences available.
Really great commentary on the game here, like you say very divisive, and had alot of problems. But damn I loved my 360hr playthrough in this world so much
36:20 I get that tough choices in quests are cool and all but the brilliance of the Witcher was that it made sense in context. AC Odyssey tries a bit too hard to replicate this but ends up just becoming "Trolley Problem" simulator.
If you’re doing DLC for a different video don’t forget the Vacation DLC that was the Odyssey entry for the Stories crossover with Valhalla. It concludes Kassandra’s time in Greece and finally ties up loose ends to set things where the modern day will find them.
A small correction The best lieutenants aren't locked at all. You can find the same abilities from mercenaries, leaders and your family when they're unlocked after the story.
Not sure if anyone pointed this out, but one of the DLC abilities from Legacy of the First Blade is Rapid Fire, which slowly drains adrenaline in order for you to shoot your bow rapidly. Not the same thing as the light bow from Origins, but that's about as close as we can get I think.
I got the ultimate edition on sale for $10 just as COVID started shutting everything down. Had a couple all nighters in one week burning through this game and loved it. I don't think I finished all the DLC's though.. I'll have to return to Odyssey someday
1:44:20 the main Problem with the that it doesn't feel right is what you mentioned that the game shows alaxios/daimos to little especially when taking into context into frame that the canon timeframe establishes that the game takes 9 years from kephalenia to the final sequences on the taigethos ruin, if you take that and add some more scenes like the one when kassandra leaves the isu forge for the first time and gets "ambushed" by alexios and then even the "good" Ending feels appropriate. On of the many things where you fell that the game only had three years in the oven xD
Good review, fair critique. What I like is, even after finishing the game, it's good to just pop back in, run around, do some activities, while watching some longfrom video (like this). I think nowadays we're past the times when you can't say you enjoyed AC Odyssey without being called a fake fan or the like. Which is good. So I guess you'll play the DLCs too and make a review? That'll be interesting to watch too. Btw, the Light Bow returns too in Legacy of the First Blade, as the Rapid Shot ability.
The last assassin's creed that I played what's revelations, after which I had a decade-long hiatus. Since last year, I have had a chance to return to gaming and therefore tried all the Assassin's creeds that I have missed since simultaneously. Odyssey is easily one of the best in the series, blending the visual Fidelity of unity, fine tuning the mechanics of origins, while also surprisingly building up on the framework of Black flag. The narrative itself is sprawling, takes many tangents and dead ends, but the overall experience of immersing oneself in ancient Greece is unparalleled. Odyssey is one of the reasons why I have my hopes up for Shadows still in spite of all the controversy.
Odyssey is what made me a fan of the AC games. To me, as an rpg nut, it blew me away. As to what it feels like in the AC universe is a long history lesson on where the war was brewing. It and Origins gave me that kick to try the rest, and it was worth it to play Blackflag.
Odyssey is like fine wine. I replay, and it doesn't get worse at all. Alexios and Kassandra are both fantastic protagonists. Stealth is great with satisfying animations, and combat is also very good. The story isn't the best, but I loved it. The base game is the best part as well. Overall, Odyssey is a solid 8-8.5/10, and it has its place in Assassin's Creed. If the Black Flag remake is supposed to be an RPG, i hope it takes the best from Odyssey and expands upon it.
@@ac_nerd9794 If it's so much better than other AC games, as you say, then you might not be a fan of the series. This isn't AC. You're a fan of something else.
When I played through Origins and Odyssey across 2019 and 2020 I felt this exact way. Origins was great, a cinematic story with new interesting combat system, wasn't a big fan of the side quests at all but appreciated a fresh attempt at what an AC game could be. AND BOY was I upset realizing Odyssey wasn't really a stealth game in that same way. You can't even hide in hay (flower) bales. However, I had a lot of fun playing through the game. The side quests and main quest with the branching decisions and consequences was really engaging for me and overall I did enjoy the comedic tone throughout the game. Not sure how true it is but I remember hearing a rumor that the game was going to be called Odyssey: an Assassin's Creed story or something like that. I wonder how we would be looking at the game had it been marketed as a historical RPG that just takes place in the same universe and not like a mainline entry. They could have just scrapped the modern day altogether since it was so lackluster.
I loved odyssey I think it’s the best one out of the new AC games I’ve spent so many hours in odyssey I’m also still hyped for AC shadows since it’s the same team who did odyssey
I just played odyssey in 2024 and it's honestly one of the best games I've ever played I already love ancient Greek and Roman mythology but this game just gave me even more love for it it felt like legend of Zelda breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom except more sexual content and blood
I absolutely loved Assassins Creed Odyssey I poured over 900+ hours into it and when they were still doing new content it was so so SO GOOD. I New Game+ed 3 times completed every location on the map almost 4 times. Like 1000 times better than val halla
Odyssey is definitely in the top 5 of Assassin's Creed, what makes a good game is the gameplay, the plot, the character and some humor and good music , which covered it all
I love the requirements to make good builds to progress. A few points in the game I was really struggling against certain enemies, I went back to the blacksmith, tweaked a few things and suddenly, those battles became a touch easier. Some of the builds online are incredible as well, once you start pairing with abilities. I thought Black Flag would always be my favourite AC game but I have now played this through 3 times now.
I used to hate this game, but my friend convince me to pick it up, so I did. Turn out this game is more assassin creed than than what I imagined. There is this shadow government that orchestrate a war to benefit them and our protagonist is forced to face them, and by doing so often giving power back to the people. Kassandra may not be in the brotherhood, but her action and story is more align to the typical assassin. And most importantly, this game stealth is fun and functional, unlike valhalla.
I don’t even look at odyssey as an assassin’s creed game. I grew up reading about the greek myths and being able to run around a huge world as your own demigod able to interject your own will on its world was amazing. And the naval combat from black flag….. it’s was an amazing game. Just play it as your own greek epic, don’t think about the assassin’s and it’s gonna be in your top ten.

I actually really dug Disco Elysium, and that game violates all the 'make this game for the most people possible' model that's ruining AAA gaming. I mean DE lets you be a racist, drug addict, if you want to. It's truly role playing tot that extent.
it was the first AC game i ever played, i had no expectations or expectations w the franchise
it’s still the most FUN i’ve ever had playing a game
Me too bro
For me it was Second one cause i played Black Flag on Xbox 360 and in Odyssey I feeled like its Black Flag but on sterydes.
And that was a great feeling.
Accurate. It was my introduction to the franchise in 2020 and now I’ve fallen in love with the series
You gotta be kidding me
Art is subjective, BUT....holy mother of Christ! Most fun you've ever had playing a game? I love this game but that is just really sad to me for some reason.
The Game was honestly great for what it was trying to be, just wish it was more in tune with the actual franchise as a whole
What Odyssey was trying to be, that being a fully-fledged RPG, is and will always be in opposition to that which Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 are/were.
You mean excessively bloated with useless boring tasks, preditory microtransactions, bad combat and stealth. Yea the game was great lol. The only positive i can give this game is the world was beautiful and the story was not terrible
I disagree. It should have been more of its own thing with even less relation to Assassin's Creed series
@@naturalfitness-1 story was ass imo especially compared to the early games
@kura6184 i didn't want to completely bash the game lol
Finally, he’s done. I thought he died.
I’m a huge original assassins creed fan and I still really loved odyssey. A great rpg, I 100 percented it twice. Didn’t deserve the hate in my opinion.
AC 2 Ezio will always be the best for me
It’s even more worth it now a days, it’s often on sale for less than 15 bucks. Such a gem of a game for that cheap is great.
@@EZMONKEY04 definitely
I love the game so much. It's gorgeous, and so much fun. If it didn't have "Assassin's Creed" in the title, and had just been a fun open world game set in Ancient Greece, I think it would have been universally beloved. As it stands, it remains one of the most fun games I've ever played.
I hate it because it's Assassins Creed and not just Odyssey..
As someone who absolutely LOVES anything having to do with ancient Greece, this game was pretty much everything I could have wanted for a game set during that time period.
I honestly consider the RPG trilogy more like a ISU trilogy rather than an Assassins vs Templars one. I enjoyed all three of them for what they are.
Yeah, I don't really consider them AC games, more like spinoffs in a different genre. I leave it to the people into that sort of thing and just play the old games when I want to play AC.
This was my favorite AC game. Still is. The sheer vastness of the world and everything you can do in it is fantastic.
This game is worth EVERY cent. I have all trophies (I think 93) and enjoyed all of them, such a journey 🤗
I really liked Odyssey and I found Kassandra with her dry humor to be a perfect fit. Also having a viable dagger build is a win for me in any game.
Easily my favorite game in the franchise. Playing it day one felt magical. I'll never forget that day.

It takes about 170 hours to truly 100% the game that way
Props to you man the game is so fun I love being in that world.
U sound like my uncle lol
Agreed 👍
Hopefully your uncle is a cool guy
It’s not even on par with Origins, lol
Main advantage: the acient Greece
main disadvantage: too much of everything (too big, too long, too much loot, too many quests etc)
take care and keep up the good world MasterAssassin
same for me! first AC game ever. Enjoyed almost every minute of it except for killing those two stupid boars for the artemis questline
I still play it to chill and relax because I just love exploring Ancient Greece
I literally got chills when I heard that soundtrack. I loved this game.
One of the best journeys I've had in the world of Assassin's Creed. The amount of freedom in this game is indescribable. The amount of fighting, abilities, and weapons is excellent. I hope Shadow is like Odyssey.
Great memories playing this during lockdown 2020, over 600 hours on this game it’s one of my favourites.
I was lucky in the sense that this was the first assassin Creed game I ever played. That said it’s one of my favorite all-time games. Definitely doesn’t deserve all of the hate.
It is the game that feels most like home to me.
Odyssey remains my second favorite Assassin's Creed game, only behind Black Flag, and I am happy that you have come back to it with a more open mind than you had when you started this game,
I started a couple days back, this is my first AC game, I spend most my time out at sea, cleaving ships apart is too fun.
It sounds like 99% of your problems with the game are that it has "Assassins Creed" in the title. Just call it Odyssey and suddenly it's a great game!
Yeah but you can’t just name a game ‘Odyssey’ because there’s no context, you don’t know what it really is until you 100% it
When there is nothing to play, and it happens quite often, I always have my good old AC Odyssey to play! I love it!
Exactly. It's just exploring the Isu side of the franchise.
@@memecliparchives2254How did it ruin the lore?
this has got to be the absolute best way to describe this game ever
Insane timing as I just picked up Odyssey few hours before this video was posted

Normally I hate long intros but this was the perfect blend of casual, funny and entertaining. Good on your MA

The actress did an amazing job.
this is why i set my difficulty to the easiest one, same thing i did with cyberpunk 2077. I can't stand bullet sponge enemies in any open world
For me this is ironic.
the increase of difficulty is meant to make you focus more on your build where in easy you dont even have to look at your gear
What I love about this game is that it was trying to expand on Isu lore more compared to it's predecessors.
Whenever I needed to get a sharp turn in naval combat, I would go into Ramming speed and Tokyo Drift the Adrestia and cleave my enemies ships in two.
Honestly games these days are not that far off .. even 5-7 years ago they were just as good as now .. there’s no real leap in gaming now for the most part
Dude you put so much work into this, I don't even like Assassin's creed but your deep dive is phenomenal! Definitely tuning in to hear your thoughts on other titles as well
Watching this video makes me very nostalgic cuz i played this game during pandemic, so much fun and memory to this game.
Odyssey origins Valhalla and mirage are some of the greatest games I’ve ever played and seen

If this game were not part of Assassin's Creed and was just an ancient Greek game, everyone would love it. I know I love it. Odyssey and Black flag are still my favorite AC games.
Odyssey is my favourite AC title to date IMHO
i LOVED this game the second it went out. It really was an Odyssey
I felt the same way about AC Odyssey, hated that it wasn't assassin's creed but gave it a shot and had a blast. Since AC Shadows is more AC than it maybe it might be one of the best AC Games since Origins.
Ac shadows gone be great I just feel it in my bones or I’m just that delusional 😂

@@SirJacobFrye68Why not
@@unicorntomboy9736 because yadda yadda no Assassins and Templars and no hidden blade. You know, all the surface level iconography of the franchise.
I played every Assassin's Creed game out there, and i can say that Odyssey is the GOAT in the series PERIOD
It's weird. I'd never put ACO in my top 5 AC games yet I had 200+ hrs playing it.
If you’re doing DLC for a different video don’t forget the Vacation DLC that was the Odyssey entry for the Stories crossover with Valhalla. It concludes Kassandra’s time in Greece and finally ties up loose ends to set things where the modern day will find them.
A small correction
The best lieutenants aren't locked at all.
I just started a new game + play through after 3 years and it’s looks amazing graphically
I got the ultimate edition on sale for $10 just as COVID started shutting everything down.
Had a couple all nighters in one week burning through this game and loved it. I don't think I finished all the DLC's though.. I'll have to return to Odyssey someday
You can block projectiles with parry, you just need good timing
I've done it myself
It's kind of coll if you manage to get it right
Odyssey is a deep dive into the lore of AC and I love it.
I'll just say i prefer playing as Alexios because he is hot as fvck, what a handsome man.
My favorite game ever...pure enjoyment playing as Kassandra. It's great traversing the beautiful world and using all her diverse abilities.
Garbage game, it ruined the lore with its gender-choosing,non-assassin, loot box armour grinding, choice making bullshit lol

Odyssey is definitely in the top 5 of Assassin's Creed, what makes a good game is the gameplay, the plot, the character and some humor and good music , which covered it all
Oh my god the music, seriously the best in the series. So well done.
the character isn’t good because there is no set character
And most importantly, this game stealth is fun and functional, unlike valhalla.
if you think thats what makes assassins creed then splinter cell is an Assassins creed game.
Yeah even hitman is ac game according to these rules
Ghost is an AC game
I don’t even look at odyssey as an assassin’s creed game. I grew up reading about the greek myths and being able to run around a huge world as your own demigod able to interject your own will on its world was amazing. And the naval combat from black flag….. it’s was an amazing game. Just play it as your own greek epic, don’t think about the assassin’s and it’s gonna be in your top ten.
