Well Doctors said elvis died of a heart attack likely brought on by his addiction to prescription barbiturates And the king died after getting stabbed in the gut
Yeah. Most, if not all of the stories I take literally. There are tons of metaphors and imagery too but a lot of what people try to argue is metaphoric, I believe that it literally happened
Yes. The parables Jesus tells aren't always literal. But all of these types of stories, are literal. And Christians who want to hold on to evolution, and millions of years, try to say it isnt literal but it is. And science proves the timeline of the Bible correct.
Yeah, people often forget that most languages were evolved into today's languages. Bible was written during the era when languages were very basic. Even with today's languages, we can't explain many philosophical and theological points. So just imagine how hard it was back then. So they used the best possible ways to make complected theological and philosophical points.
I enjoy this, because whilst the stories are definitely “weird” you applied nuance and used the linguistic, historical, and theological context in order to make sense out of them. That takes more time than just saying “ lol religion “
The fact that people in the early time of the bible could live much longer than humans now is amazing but I think might be because there was much more oxygen back then.
I've heard that theory, too. The theory goes that many species were much larger, long ago, owing to the presence of Oxygen in denser quantities. The present day percentage of atmospheric Oxygen is at the precise percentage that keeps everything from spontaneously combusting. As well, trees have not always existed. Believe it or not, Sharks have been on this Earth longer than trees have.
well you can see on Amazon where there's huge animals sill exist. Long time ago woods and forests were florish on earth which make it pretty much become a place where giants were exist because oxygen is one of responsible element that can be effectively influence our body growth
This was really refreshing I haven't paid the quick enough to my thought it was in the intervals this certification of The Bible but it presented itself in a very thoughtful way.
REzįø It’s a pretty weird story. He killed 1000 soldiers with a donkey jawbone, killed a lion with his bare hands, found a honey comb in its mouth later on, and spontaneously found a spring come out of the ground after almost diving of thirst due to exhaustion (because yknow, killing 1000 Philistines with a donkey jawbone is kind of tiring).

You didn't make fun or put us down, you told the stories, stated the different ways it's all interpreted by different denominations, and we're incredibly respectful throughout the entire video. Thank you so much for all of that I would love to see more content like this :)
I, a Christian, don't believe the earth is neccesarily 6000-7000 years old. But I definitely believe that humility is. The bible never outright denies that something didn't exist before the creation of humans so its totally possible that dinosaurs did exist before humans.
You say its totally possible like theres some sort of wiggle room? To suggest that its "totally possible" dinosaurs exist is the equivalent of saying its totally possible that the earth is a sphere. The validity of dinosaurs and the shape of the earth arent up for debate.
Being born and raised Christian, with a pastor for a grandfather, I've always viewed the bible as a collection of anecdotes...stories that have some amount of truth, something to learn...and a LOT of stretched truths. Great video :)
The fallen Adam was turned into a sheep, so he eats grass in animal skins (Genesis 3: 18,21). In Adam, all men became sheep. Many fairy tales use this plot. Becoming a HUMAN again will not be easy, many will remain sheep
Great video but I'm a little upset they didn't explain why Ehud hid the dagger on his right side. He did so because the tribe he hailed from (Benjamin I think) were known for being left handed so when guards searched him for a weapon they checked his left side and never suspected he'd carry a weapon on his right

So thank you for not just an interesting video, but for one that was done in a knowledgeable and unbiased way.
I've heard all these stories from Sunday School.
Yet all of them are true
And Catholics aren’t Christians
Even from the book of Enoch?
Me too
@@jonathanmarmol5976 Yep.
What a coincidence, I was just yesterday watching few videos on Bible and quite recently on subject of "fallen angels"
You should check out a channel called AOC NETWORK great stuff
Ur the chosen one 😂
It wasn’t a coincidence your phone can hear you speak bro
I swear, every time I see something about weird Bible stories, I immediately think of that one John Mulaney bit about King Solomon and the baby
I never thought of these stories as weird. They were some of my favorite biblical stories growing up. I appreciate the effort put into explaining these.
So basicaly you need a psychologist
@@lealmelisa no it's people like you who don't think that God exists that need a psychologist. I'm perfectly fine
Well Doctors said elvis died of a heart attack likely brought on by his addiction to prescription barbiturates
And the king died after getting stabbed in the gut
Woah this video is so cool keep it up
I recommend Sunday School Dropouts podcast to anyone who'd be interested in a critical and humorous reading of the Bible.

2:39 We take it literally for the most part. There are obviously several metaphors, similes and things like that throughout the Bible.
Yeah. Most, if not all of the stories I take literally. There are tons of metaphors and imagery too but a lot of what people try to argue is metaphoric, I believe that it literally happened
Bryce Reeves me to
Agreed.
I’m atheist but I think the Bible is pretty interesting. Plus I love the Noah movie
The Noah movie is lousy and could have had a much better plot if it had followed the Bible.
For example Noah’s enemy should have been the nephlim.
bulldogsbob well lots of movies are very different than the book that it’s based on

would you do videos about other books of faith, this was quite interesting

I have never heard anyone brutalize the name Elisha so badly before, lol
I heard that they might’ve used growing seasons as years, but that’s still a long period of time.
well you can see on Amazon where there's huge animals sill exist. Long time ago woods and forests were florish on earth which make it pretty much become a place where giants were exist because oxygen is one of responsible element that can be effectively influence our body growth
Way less chemicals and poisons also
No. It’s all a lie.
Nice breakdown of the stories...

Weird or dark stories of the bible
REzįø It’s a pretty weird story. He killed 1000 soldiers with a donkey jawbone, killed a lion with his bare hands, found a honey comb in its mouth later on, and spontaneously found a spring come out of the ground after almost diving of thirst due to exhaustion (because yknow, killing 1000 Philistines with a donkey jawbone is kind of tiring).

I appreciate the part talking about how people misinterpret it without even cracking open the pages... also people looking at historical things in general through a modern lens..
I really appreciate the way you talked about the Bible, it's stories, and us believers. You didn't make fun or put us down, you told the stories, stated the different ways it's all interpreted by different denominations, and we're incredibly respectful throughout the entire video. Thank you so much for all of that I would love to see more content like this :)
Matt Dillahunty will make fun of you.

The first time I ever heard Nephilim was from Will Herondale.
I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. - Richard Dawkins
Great quote
Being born and raised Christian, with a pastor for a grandfather, I've always viewed the bible as a collection of anecdotes...stories that have some amount of truth, something to learn...and a LOT of stretched truths. Great video :)
The fallen Adam was turned into a sheep, so he eats grass in animal skins (Genesis 3: 18,21). In Adam, all men became sheep. Many fairy tales use this plot. Becoming a HUMAN again will not be easy, many will remain sheep
Please you should indicate the Bible verses for better understanding 🙄
Let me tell you this there was this guy he turn him self into pickle funniest thing I ever seen
PICKLE RICK!!!!!!!
Sorry I had to
Yeah, when miracles only have "one" witness.
Great video but I'm a little upset they didn't explain why Ehud hid the dagger on his right side. He did so because the tribe he hailed from (Benjamin I think) were known for being left handed so when guards searched him for a weapon they checked his left side and never suspected he'd carry a weapon on his right
It's not weird, its just, some people don't know what message that story says
