Satan is mentioned once more in the Gospels: it says he enters Judas who then went out and betrayed Jesus. The woman giving birth to the Male child in Revelation is not Mary, but she represents Israel. The sun, the moon, and the twelve stars she is crowned with is also told in Genesis when Joseph had a dream about the same sun, moon, and twelve stars. He said the stars represent him and his eleven brothers. The moon his mother. And the sun his father (Jacob, or Israel). The woman is not Mary, but the nation of Israel.
No. It is definitely the Virgin Mary. Your interpretation is a Protestant one. The Virgin Mary is the one from the Book of Genesis who crushes Satan's head.
@@mattjb8384 you are seriously mistaken. "My interpretation" was held by some of the early church father's: Polycarp, Origen, and others. Long before the Catholic Institution existed. I am reading The Bible straight through. First thing I can say is that it's very confusing. I just started the Book of Job and there hasn't been much Satan talk in the books before that one. I also notice it seems like there are a few bad things are referred to as a "Satan". One thing that stands out in Job is when Satan tells God he has been "walking to and fro up and down the Earth" and it made me think about the time in which believe that book was written and how little we really know about traveling. It's the same with God. He has several different names depending on where you read and several things are credited to the Lord being present. There are so many authors I never expected it not to be a little confusing but I am grateful for UA-cam and the videos I find on here that help explain things I might not completely grasp. There is so much we think we know but I couldn't believe all the things I have never heard about since I have been reading this book. Even if someone doesn't believe in God, I encourage you to read this book. It's literally the coolest, most fascinating book I have ever had the pleasure of reading and I can really get lost in some of the stories and lose track of time researching and reading. I have a lot of books left to read including removed books. I wanna read it all. Enoch and Jubilees are the only removed books I have read so far. I do hope as I get further into The Bible I will learn more about Satan and his craziness. What happens to Job to test his faith toward God is downright mean but it makes sense I guess since he is trying to prove God wrong and claim Job would turn away from him but it's still awful to hear what Satan put Job through. I love the way this book is written though. Some of it is like beautiful poetry. I am looking forward to the next 2 books, Psalms and Proverbs. They are 2 I have heard quoted my entire life from many persons and I am excited to read them in their entirety. Anyhoo, supposedly Satan is an angel that rebelled and his name is actually Samael but I read that online and not in the Bible. It's hard for me to know what is accurate and what isn't considering The Bible has been translated so many times and altered so I take everything with a grain of salt since I don't know what man changed.
There has been 30,000 translations thus far as far as I know... And read some ish about how there's now a Vatican 2. Also for whichever reasons, maybe because of questioning it,, since this last year have had some extremely creepy experiences concerning the two I came across in the two I found when my great grandfather passed away one being a Greek parallel, I think may be speaking directly to me possibly and then the other a catholic version that says Christian on the cover and talks about the liturgy of the hours and liturgical year.. I swear that one changed in front of my eyes & has some freaky pictures. I have always believed in God but wasn't brought up as a church goer or ever been taught much concerning a Bible so for this to have been my first experiences to do with:/ I am just more lost than ever now and I hate that to be the case:(
Its supposed to be confusing on purpose so someone can act like they have god given authority to interpret it and have control over what people believe.

There are many truthful inferences that can be made as to why, especially in Jesus' case. Both were spiritual teachers, but Jesus' gifts would have been lost in the corruption of it all, most likely, and he would have been corrupted as well (the basic "sell your soul" metaphor, which surprisingly wasn't alluded to in that second or third temptation.)

The idea that Satan is a metaphor and not an actual entity is what I'm saying. The entire Bible is a parable meant to teach lessons, not be taken literally. - an ex Catholic.
There's a reason the saying "The greatest trick the devil played, was convincing you that he didn't exist." is so good. It's another way of saying that if you aren't aware of the possibility of sin, then you will almost certainly sin. It's probably the greatest possible way to unknow yourself, or be tricked as it were.
I was wondering if Satan really has horns and a tail and all that imagine sometimes it he can be a beautiful angel just still as beautiful as ever and trachea
Well from my understanding, it is us who's evil because we got fooled by satan, satan is not necessarily a bad being, he's just there to ensure that heaven doesn't accept in genuine people. But satan is definitely bad to follow. Satan in hebrew means adversary, can also mean accuser, just like how satan accused job to be a fake follower. So satan is more like a job given by God to ensure that people who do enter heaven has proven themselves worthy, through temptations and hardships, this is evident in the book of job. I know, no one's ever worthy, according to God, but at least some of us try, and that's the most important thing. A saint is a sinner who keeps on trying.
A quote I read some time ago went along the lines of 'But who prays for Satan, the one sinner that needed it the most?' It kind of made my mind implode and change the way I think about things

Satan is not an angel
Nowhere in Tanakh,he s mentioned this way.

I have always believed in God but wasn't brought up as a church goer or ever been taught much concerning a Bible so for this to have been my first experiences to do with:/ I am just more lost than ever now and I hate that to be the case:(
Its supposed to be confusing on purpose so someone can act like they have god given authority to interpret it and have control over what people believe.

you mean falsly presenting tho, rather read it in the Bible than do it in crunch time this has many so called plot holes and some are straight up lies or twisted verses
The lesson of the 3rd temptation sounds similar to the story of the Buddha who chose spiritual enlightenment and rejected being a regional king.

Not that it's impossible Indian religion could've spread to 1st century Israel, but it's like that theory that similar concepts can arise around the same time on different continents (such as sea navigation, time recording, math, language, etc.)...Either way, I love both Jesus and Buddha's decline of power to pursue a spiritual existence and enlightenment instead, in Jesus' case to be a servant and healer. There are many truthful inferences that can be made as to why, especially in Jesus' case. Both were spiritual teachers, but Jesus' gifts would have been lost in the corruption of it all, most likely, and he would have been corrupted as well (the basic "sell your soul" metaphor, which surprisingly wasn't alluded to in that second or third temptation.)
buddha was a person who taught that you need to be enlightened which means doing enough good to stop the restarting life "rebirth" thing , no buddhist now how much good you need to do or how much bad is too bad it its literally a guessing game so over guessing I take Jesus who said we don't need to be super good people and give our house to the homeless and live in a box on the street , we just follow him out of compassion and love for what he did for us , so I simply would take this option over any of the other religions all of their creators are dead as well and Jesus resuracted there is more historical proof or that than any historic figure like alexander the great for example lots of people got brutally m*rde*ed because of saying this resuraction happened and never in the history did more people die for some truth and if you think all those innocent lives were put out for some lie than you yourself are the biggest fool

The devil plays innocent, like that he was used by god blablabla.Romance is evil program of the devil.
so in this context was Satan doing us a favor when he convinced eve to eat the fruit so we knew of sin so we couldn't unknowingly sin?
