This is amazing; this is what we need more of in this world. Ignorance is the worst illness to plague humanity and this 10 year old kid can see it. Education can put everyone on even ground to see eye to eye with one another; it gives perspective and empathy to those who do not know and the world needs to understand what this 10 year old child can see clear as day.
Look at how proud the woman behind him is. I'm not sure if that's his mom, but she's just beaming with admiration. This kid is very important and will grow up to do great things.
Hello! This just showed up on You Tube. But our dear Asean is beyond awesome. Telling the truth. Dear young man. YOU are such a GIFT to all of us. Thank you!!
This made me cry!! I love you Asean! You're amazing!! When kids stand up to make a change...it's powerful. I can feel his energy and passion. Truly a future leader!
What a strong, brave young man. I don't know about anyone else but I'm shedding tears and so, so proud that there are young people in this country who know what's really important.
WOW. I was immediately moved to tears by this young man and his passion. He is truly speaking truth. I pray that more parents would educate their children about the matters of the world and get involved WITH them to bring about the change we need to truly rebuild this beautiful country!
Asean, your eloquence brought me to tears. You said it better than any adult could. Thank you! I am so glad you made a difference! Keep on making a difference in the future. You're a LEADER!!!
Asean Johnson: my most recent HERO! This video brought tears of joy, amazement, inspiration and hope! Yet my heart is both lifted and heavy! Heavy knowing there is STILL reason in this country for him to be compelled to make such a speech! Could watch this video a thousand times and would have the same reaction! 9 yrs old and already has it right! This child will go far in life! Asean Johnson, you dear child WILL make a difference! YOU will help change the world! You are MY HERO!
Wow. That brought tears to my eyes. This kid has more courage & passion than I believe I have seen in any adults I know. I only hope that the rest of his generation is this way. If I were his Mom I would so proud! Matter of fact, I'm not afraid to admit I'm actually proud right now in the way that a Mom is. He gives me hope! Just wow.
I can't even imagine how proud his family is. I'm just about crying over here. WE NEED kids like this. I am so proud that HE is a child of the future. I would like to see more adults and college age students with such charisma and intelligence. I wish I was as brave and bold!
I almost teared up. We need to support kids like him and keep him on the right path until he is old enough and wise enough to channel the fire within him. Very proud, made my morning!
Thank God for children like this! It makes you remember how important education is. For so many, education is the only way out of their hometowns, and this young man gets it! God bless him!
Impressive. This child is a natural born speaker. He spoke from the heart, no notes or speech prepared. He also spoke at the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington and did well. He also managed to keep his school open, so he's effective. One of the future leaders of America.
Thnk u this is wht every child, Every parent , every Grandparent , every uncle, every aunt , every one needs to hear. We need t start investing in our children and not or government prison.
This kid is Marvelous. I would love to have the privilege of teaching him. I hope he reads comments so he can see how proud we are.of him and the teachers which have helped him on his journey.
It's amazing when a kid that's only been on this earth for 9 yrs. leaves you speechless! That is uplifting, courageous and inspirational! I don't care what NO body says that kid has been here before! Who was he before is the question????? Very Cute and smart! Xoxoxo
I just watched this with my child who will be at John W. Garvy school in Chicago next year. I told him that Asean goes to the other Garvey school in Chicago. Now he is walking around the house chanting, "Education is our Right. That is what we have to fight!" You and all of the kids in Chicago are amazing Asean. Keep fighting and we will too. On Monday, I'll be at Millennium Park for the Every School Solidarity Picnic at 12noon.
You said exactly what I feel. They are NEVER to young to learn and expound the TRUTH, because it makes you free. Not 'set,' because you can be unset, but MADE. Not easy to unmake, and this young man's parents are making a great Black man, focused and with no variance. God Bless them.
there are kids with amazing potential everywhere in the world, and that should never go to waste. i'm so so glad we also have incredible young people like Asean Johnson and Malala Yousafzai to fight for the right to a good education.
I hope to someday raise a child with his ferocity and analysis. If I could see more young people like this, I'll know that our future is in good hands; well done young man and well done Asean's parents.
You're an inspiration Asean. We're fighting for the same thing here in Australia. Both our state and Federal governments are cutting billions of dollars from education. Keep speaking out and lead the way.
education is our right, that is why we have to fight!!!! his mother has raised a leader. a peace maker. a boy with ambition and a trust worthy man! all the best of success to you M.Johnson!
This is the reason why I ask God daily to bless me financially so I can go and rebuild areas where these precious minds live and at times get shot and die at .
