I think he got the biggest glow up. I love you've leaned into him being a silly little creature, and his shapeshifting animations are superb.

I mean he was technically the very first Rivals character, made from the moveset Dan created for his Smash Land Vaporeon.

It is REDICULOUS how smooth the transition from 2d to 3d was for orcane. you guys are creating something out of this world

Can’t get over how great all the characters look. Love how expressive and goofy Orcane is, plus the voice work is so cute!!
And with this reveal we have the entire base roster confirmed for rivals. It will be Zetterburn, Krag, Rannos, Maypul, Wrastor , Fleet, Claire, Loxodont, orcane and Forsburn ( which doesn’t have a trailer yet but was revealed to be worked on a Developer commentary)
I believe la reina will be part of base as well
They said she won't be ready for a long time. I doubt she is in the release build.

I had no idea there were more specials than just the directional specials in smash. That’s a legit really cool innovation in the genre

Orcas are my absolute favorite animal! The way that they turned one into an adorable, quadrapedal beast makes me so happy. He's definitely my favorite rival, no questions asked!

Special pummel and ledge special are great new additions that don't overshadow orcane's already amazing core, glad to have them back and better than ever!

Every character i've seen looks fun to play and this one has the the best visuals i've seen.
I love the fact that Orcane's textures mimic the ripple of water if you look closely! Amazing little detail!
Can I also just say, this stage is gorgeous. I don't know if we've seen this before or not but if we haven't I need to call it out, very pretty

Never played the first rivals, but i always liked orcanes visual design. Looks like fun to play. They will definitely be the first character i try out.

I noticed that Orcane's ledge attack and some of his throws look just like the ones he has in Fraymakers. Must have been some cross communication there. I wonder if the Fraymakers devs will consider updating Orcane's moveset to be more similar to Rivals 2.

anyway orcane looks great although his inclusion wasn't really a surprise since he is one of the faces of rivals. I hope eliana, pomme, etalus and all the later additions make it into the game too!

The special Pummel looks like it could be super busted.
Not really? The puddle still has to be on stage somewhere, so it's not different from getting grabbed in that spot instead. Plus if you're too predictable about wanting to use pummel special, the opponent will break the grab.
It will be strong and very fun, but no special pummel will ever be busted thanks to the pummel RPS mechanic. If you're afraid of getting special pummeled, just press special when you get grabbed. Good Rivals 2 players will optimize this.
You can break grabs. It's a guessing game (A or B), but yeah. It's fine.
This game has the most beautiful animations of any platform fighter.

orcane is friend and friend-shaped (in all of his silly shapes). big fan of the special pummel and ledge special. glad bubbles seem bigger and easier to see/handle as the opponent. very very excited to get my hands on this!

While its obvious every character has more personality in 3D, I feel like Orcane benefits the most from the new aesthetic. Without pixel art he seems so much more silly/goofy!

I hope the ability to make custom colors for every character comes back for Rivals 2. Because that feature was awesome. I really want this to come to switch as well because it would make sense if it was available just like the OG Rivals is.
I dunno about the game being on switch, but custom colors would be cool, just not sure how hard it'd be
@@Bupboy They would probably make it like with each character on a turn table thing in the mode itself with the characters doing their idile animations when you select the mode from the main menu and have it like the OG hade it where you could pick certain parts of a character to change the color of that part. And about the game being optimized for the switch for the port they could just make the effects simpler or something like that..

Just a tiny critique: we need more live on the backgrounds! Reactions for what is happening on the battle! For example, NPCs that are working with those apple boxes, maybe some boxes jiggle when your character passes by or get punched, the tables move just a bit because of character weight, etc! That would make it far better. I know that this is still a WIP version, but don't forget to make livable characters, well, live in a world that is also alive!
yeah that'd be neat, there is something with the stages tho, everytime both players come to their last stock, the stages visually change into a more dramatic atmosphere at the same time the music does, giving it a more tense and chilling atmosphere, it's really good

Audio needs a lot of work to better sell the impacts, but the art style is strong and the abilities look fun to use. Looking forward to it
