I really enjoyed the game and I especially liked the parts where you dove a bit more into the culture, religion and such with the temples.

I’d love for lost in nightmares to be included in the base story somehow and desperate escape to be a seperate ways style DLC with new content you cant find in the base game. And of course, they have to bring back mercenaries but they should do it like the Mercenaries 3D game where it’s an all stars cast of RE characters you can play, including alternate costumes and swappable kits. Would be cool to see Barry and Rebecca in the RE Engine. But to be honest a part of me also wouldn’t mind for them to just make a mercenaries spin off game so we could even have Leon, Ada, and maybe even the Village crew like Ethan and Heisenberg included (and so they could add characters in later games for the future)
I just hope they keep local co-op/split screen multiplayer
I figured RE5 would be the next remake in the series not only because of the ending of RE4 and Separating Ways but also with Resident Evil Death Island hinting at what Jill did during the events of RE5.

I would like them to remake Gun Survivor. Make Ark a little more interesting, and I think it would be interesting to have a section playing as Lott wielding a baseball bat.
I was hoping you mentioned partner AI. That's what I want most, is for the partner AI to be better. It's clear RE5 was designed around playing with another human, and the AI was an afterthought, but as someone who doesn't play co-op games, the AI in 5 is so painful.
I'm not interested in another REMake until they remake Dino Crisis.
I would love to get CV remake before 5 BECAUSE it would give more backstory to character who is the final boss and one of the biggest in the whole franchise

Plus, they can add flashbacks to RE1. Which would be awesome. And hey, maybe it'll show a glimpse at an RE1 Remake. However, I think that it should either happen now, or in like 4-5 years.
Not only that, but given that these remakes are being made for new fans, and old ones as well, introducing wesker in RE4, and killing him in RE5, would feel a little bit abrupt, even if it's common knowledge for the people who've played RE5. I think going for CVX is the better option, which at least would give a little bit of a wiggle room in regards to wesker's story before RE5.
You only care about Wesker's story, but you don't care about developing the character of Chris who will face him?
@@imed-ha77 Chris is important too but we have seen him more then Wesker after 6 and also he is only 1/3 of CV important characters. Basically new players dont know anything about wesker but have a clue or even more about Chris
RE5 will always be my favourite co-op game, so I'm ok with it. I absolutely agree though, I would like more of a focus on horror than mostly action. And the partner AI definitely needs to be hugely improved. But I suppose after all these years AI has improved so much compared to back then so I'm sure it won't be bad

Personally I think Kevin Dorman (Chris’ voice actor in Resident Evil Vendetta and Death Island) is probably going to voice Chris in the remake as he seemingly taken over for Roger Crazy Smith as pre-RE7 Chris.

I’m so unbelievably excited for it. I sympathize with Code Veronica fans, but RE5 is my favorite game in the series.
RE engine co-op sounds absolutely incredible and the boss fights without tank controls are going to be incredible. I hope to hear In Flames remixed.

RE5 is literally just RE4 except co-op, which is the most fun Resident Evil experience I can imagine.

Outbreak with better online details and the new RE engine would be INSANE. Could you imagine hearing your friends terrified or panicked screams on the other side of the Police Station? Gunfire going quiet elsewhere in the Hospital? The approaching footsteps echoing throughout the Umbrella labs, and not knowing who or what was coming?

I would love to see a Mario Maker style RE game.
People create their own Point A to Point B style game but players have creative control over it.
Multiplayer I'm not sure of but if it was done like a Claire A Leon B but more communication and they cross paths sometimes to solves puzzles, gather pieces etc.

RE1 & 2 can be ran through in a couple hours so the replayability would be huge.
If they do make RE5 remake I want a couple of things 1) make it ALOT more on the horror side 2) fixed AI for the bot 3) bring split-screen back for it. I have a feeling that Capcom will probably keep the location the same but probably add more skin types to enemies to avoid backlash
They already added more skin types to enemies though. There’s white, mixed, and black Majinis in RE5 lol.

I think developers just should stop being pussies and make the games without worrying about racism or homophobic accusations. Killing black people in a game shouldn't mean that the developers are racist. Most people we kill in games are white, so we also should rage that we white folks are being constantly killed?

The merchant was planned to be a thing originally, a dummy model and strings of text like "NameOfPartner is talking to the merchant." are still in the final versions of the game, but they were probably removed to simplify the system for co-op where you can jump into a random session at any point in the game

5 is still my favorite besides the REngine games. have high hopes for it because theres a lot of things that can be improved. also co-op mercs needs to happen with even more replay value then the original please
I NEED Sheva in RE Engine. She's such a good character, one of the best in there series, but her AI made people hate her. She's incredible.
I actually think she needs some changes character wise because her paper in the story was the typical partner that gets assigned to the MC that lost his previous partner so he wants to work alone until he ends up accepting her as his new partner (and part of it was because he got his old partner back alive and not just because of interaction with her).
It's probably the reason why her and others like Billy, Ashley or Carlos ended up discarded after a single game because they were made for that role and after that role Capcom didn't know what to do with them since they were one dimensional characters.
I love re5, got the platinum and I still play through it once a year or so. I hope it gets the love RE4 remake got. I also think it had the best merc mode

@@paulvanbeaumont7184 That's not AI, that's her character and voice acting, Ashley's AI worked fine for most of the time, She would follow you as you told her, she would hide as you told her, she would operate things as you told her and she would alert you as it was needed even if people found it annoying.
Sheva would eat through your inventory and would do random retarded things that would compromise your gameplay (I know you're gonna throw some shit about how her yells compromised your gameplay, but that's the same as a sports player saying he can't fully concentrate and play at will unless the audience keeps their mouth shut).
Sheva's character might be ok but her AI was terrible, Ashley's character might be annoying but her AI was fine.

I want that the Lost in Nightmares DLC is a playable Prologue for RE5 Remake.
RE5 made a lot of money and is on basically every list for best co-op games ever.
They will remake it for sure and set the setting in Africa - I never got it that the game was considered controversial because of the setting. Apparently it's always fine to shoot enemies (zombies, controlled by parasites) if it's anywhere in the world except Africa.
The recent games are all about reusing assets as much as possible to reduce dev time and cost (which is absolutely fine), and with the 3 new enemies in RE4 (the cow-heads), they are basically RE5 enemies by their moveset.
Hammer guy = executioner
Melee guy = Big Majini
And JJ was already in both original games. The groundwork for RE5R has already been set from all instances before. 🙂
RE purists shit on RE5, but I hold this game dear to my heart. Playing it with my boyfriend in local coop has been one of my best memoriws ever. We replay it every half a year or so on professional and always have a blast. I know Sheva's AI is garbage, but as a coop action game I genuinely think this is the best game I have ever played in couch coop. Maybe It takes two is up there with it.
What I would love- add merchant. Rework Wesker's fight before he takes off in his plane- on pro difficulty it's absurdly hard to properly hit him with the serum, you have to be perfectly positioned or do long chain of QTEs.
Keep parry mechanic from RE4R- it would definitely fit two highly trained BSAA agents. Rework Irving fight, and extend marsh area. Marsh area and big underground section with lasers are two of my favorite moments in the whole game
If we get a RE5 remake, I'd like them to play around with lighting and environment more. I would want the sun to become more of a hazard during gameplay causing partial blindness and fatigue.
Oh man, RE5 deserves the remake treatment. Memes aside, i love 5. Platinumed it twice, the only section i think that could probably used help is the turret section in Chapter 3. I trust Capcom with whatever theyre doing, they just keep making banger after banger.
It would be amazing to see RE5 Remake pan out with all the additions you mentioned; more horror, a merchant (I think the Duke would be so fitting because of Village), a proper Sheva AI overhaul etc. I'm curious to what Capcom would change the setting to? Personally I think it's perfectly fine. It adds to the lore that this virus is a worldwide spread. Africa with a more dark tone/horror vibe in RE Engine would be insanely good, with the Shaman & other enemies. The soundtrack would be 🔥🔥🔥
All that RE5 remake needs is just the same treatment RE4 got. Bit more horror, cut and replace some areas/enemies with something more fun, quality life changes etc.
What i'm excited and worried about is the combat, i absolutly love the combat in 5 and I want it to be even better than it already is.

I'm just so ready to play Chris again. I loved playing as him in RE7 and Village but I want to see him punch his way through everyone in third person.......as the protagonist finally. Also, seeing how much Capcom understands which memes are loved by the fanbase (RE4R has clearly proved that), I can't wait for the boulder punching part and many of Wesker's lines remade.
Edit: I don't think there would be a problem with the location. You massacre them American people, Italian people and Chinese people left and right. No person with an IQ higher than 30 will take offense. They are infected anyways so can't really call them people at that point.
Adding a merchant would be a neat idea to be honest. Never even thought about it. A 6'5 black guy with a strongman physique and strong African accent for example would be fun as hell.
They also have a chance to make a new after credits scene to show that maybe Wesker actually survived. He's the best antagonist in the franchise and it sucks to see him go. I doubt they'd make him survive but man do I miss him.
The problem wasn't that it was set in Africa so much things like the part where you're literally fighting grass-skirted tribesman throwing spears like out of a racist 1940's cartoon, and none of the African characters getting any depth and just being in supporting roles. I'm excited for an RE5 remake to take the setting on with the care it actually deserves like they did with RE4, subtle changes that keep all the best parts of the game without making players roll their eyes at dated nonsense that takes them out of the story.

On Friday. I bought my 10th copy of RE5. This time it’s my 3rd Xbox One copy. This time so me and a neighbour can sit and play through the game. Maybe next month I’ll buy 6 and we can play through that one next.
If they do RE5R, my hope on top of what Bawk suggests would be ensuring local co-op is available. Granted, split screen isn’t that common these days and online PvP/PvE is typical, but being able to get the new RE and play it with my wife rather than one of us having to watch the other play some of it first, would be such a cool experience.
Bawk + another streamer play RE5 would be a god tier stream… maybe uhTrance🤷🏼♂️
I got SO much mileage out of RE5 with my friend in middle school. School nights, weekends, holidays all we played was RE5. It wasnt my favorite RE but definitely my favorite multi-player experience... that being said I would either want: CV remake or Outbreak or hear me out.. remake one of the side games. Gaiden? Dead aim?
RE5 with LOCAL and online Co-Op would be such an immense experience. Local is important. Hell, I'm here for any more Resi content I can get!

So cross play would be a nice online co-op feature I’d like implemented if possible.

@@rexokami4360 The original RE3 reused a lot of assets from RE2 and came out only a year after RE2, just like 3R did.
They also had the incentive of RE4 being next, so they probably wanted to get past RE3 to get to RE4.
This is actually probably how they see RE5 vs Code Veronica, which is why I don’t have expectations for CVR lol.

I have a difficult time accepting how they could possibly do RE5 before RE:CV. I mean, I had a difficult time accepting RE4 coming before CV, but at least RE4 was something of a detached game to the franchise that doesn't have much of a cause and effect relationship with CV. But RE5 is a direct result of events from CV-- Wesker reveals he has a new power in that game, and then he faces Chris and Claire, and absolutely DOMINATES Chris in a fight. This prompts Chris to bulk up so that he'd fair better against Wesker when the BSAA catches up to him in Africa, and this gave us the famous boulder punching scene (that is canon, as it was referenced in RE8).
So you really cannot do RE5 before CV. It doesn't make sense.
I'd also love to see a Resident Evil 6 remake, only so they can rectify all their mistakes with that game and give it a great legacy. Not only that, but they can change story bits to include in the new canon they have.

Looking at how RE4 went compared to RE4make, I think if they do remake re5 it will still be in Africa, but with some changes to make it more culturally sensitive. In the original RE4 you're not in Spain, you're just in "Europe," and despite being in Europe, the enemies speak Mexican Spanish. In the remake, you're very definitively in Spain, and they actually have references to Spanish history and culture, as well as speaking the correct dialect of Spanish. My guess is this will also apply to RE5. Instead of just being in the continent of "Africa," they'll pick a specific country, make more of a point of studying and correctly portraying its culture, etc. They'll probably cut the inexplicable and geographically impossible underground pyramid and the marshes, which were the most criticized sections, in favor of new, more culturally applicable areas. That's my hopes, at least, because as much as I genuinely do love RE5, that is one incredibly racially insensitive game.

I'm sure they'll get to CV soon. there's not much more games for Capcom to remake. 5 maybe 6, then either Outbreak or CV, then 1. They crank out the remakes pretty quick. 7 and 8 took longer because it's original.

I think they hear you so talk about RECV and outbreak and re1/0 and dino crises, so they can see what we love to see, put the granted RE5 aside, because we all know its coming, but we want to let them know how much we love the other RE gems, OutBreak is online just talk about it if you want to play with your friends
Regardless of whether we get a Code Veronica, Outbreak, Gun Survivor or Gaiden remake; I think it's almost guaranteed at this point that RE5 remake is heading our way. Will it still take place in Africa? I think it has to. I think Capcom dug themselves into a never-ending grave with this in the original. But, now, they lose if they do and they lose if they don't. So, might as well stick to the formula. I agree that the foundation for a great npc partner was laid-out with Luis in RE4R. That could easily be done with Sheva. As you said, I would love to see them introduce an African merchant into RE5. Something Drebin-esque but without the coke drinking chimp. I DO think a Code Veronica remake should hit the shelves before RE5R just for my own sanity and to flush out the story of Wesker for the newer fans. But, that's just my opinion.

I hope RE5 remake happens and i hope it absolutely blows RE4R out of the water. (Not out of spite, i mean I want them to consistenly keep pushing the bar higher in terms of quality)
If i could change ANYTHING in the remake, it'd be chapter 3 where you're fighting the el gigante with the turret and the whole rail shooter segment.
Maybe instead player 1 (chris in singleplayer) will have to drive and player 2 (sheva in single player) will have to shoot, just to give the player more agency in the segment.
I could also see like a race or something where you're chasing after Irving and you have to "catch" him without totalling your truck.
Then when you catch up to him in that little rural area, the el gigante shows up and wrecks your car so you have to fight it on foot while Irving escapes.
Idk that's just my one hope for RE5 remake bc leon can solo an el gigante on foot and its weird to me that chris *needed* the turret to take it down.

They're definitely going to have their work cut out for them with RE5. I played it the other day and it's aged quite horribly I think. Where the other older games hold up well because they have a strong identity, RE5 is a confusing mess of various gaming trends at the time and it being an RE game comes second to that
It also has way more bad bosses and levels compared to re4 as well, and has no atmosphere at all. It'd require more effort on Capcoms part to improve

If they ever make a Resident Evil Revelations remake, they should make it co-op. Revelations has always felt like it was supposed to be a co-op game. At least to me it did. I think an RE Engine Revelations remake would be great. Especially because of the Queen Zenobia in the game. (Though, I would prefer a Code Veronica remake before a Revelations remake)
It should be RE1 - the original masterpiece that comes next. It's ancient and would benefit immensely from the new RE engine similar to 2 3 and 4. 5 needs it far less, but could come after. RE1 then Code Veronica.
I feel like the opportunity for code veronica to get a remake passed a long time ago. Im definitely looking for RE5 potentially being the next remake for the online experience with other players that we haven't had at all since resident evil 6 in terms of co-op campaign.
Animations are so great in 4 remake, imagine using the parry, follow up melee system with chris' bare hand to hand combat skills, imagine some enemies can grab you by the legs and drag you on the floor while others attack while you can still parry, and more dense waves of majinis on re engine for extra tension and aggressive survival, yummy
One wish I have for re5 remake is that partner ammo is infinite if its AI controlled (for normal guns, not grenade launcher).
Makes the game way more enjoyable if you dont have to constantly manage the ammo count of your AI partner

Japanese developers seem to be mostly immune to the American culture war in their game design. They seem to understand the very simple fact that the people who would complain about the setting are not the target audience, are not the majority, and won't be buying the game no matter what. We've seen many similar criticisms and controversies in recent games (such as FF16) and seen that it has no effect on the games' success.
I honestly think that remaking RE5 would be too much for now, the game is still looks and plays pretty well. Of course new engine would only improve it and fix a lot of promblems that original had, but I guess it's not that necessary (for now). Besides it would make sense to show the characters' backstory first via Code Veronica.
I was really hoping Capcom would remake CVX since RE4make continued Leon's story from RE2make and newer players could continue Claire's story. Plus it would introduce Wesker and Chris to newer players also since RE1make came out over 20 years ago! If Capcom does it in this order then remaking 5 would make the most sense. Now I'm thinking about co-op on the RE engine and that has me hyped lol
Well here is hope that CVX comes first. The bow gun was Claire signature weapon, as well a Wesker not only had almost the same outfit as CVX but his after igmages are the same as Veronica. Do hoping they are just getting ready for it.
Besides it seems pretty unanimous how much the RE fan base wants Veronica remake.
I think Code Veronica would be the better remake prior to 5 for all the reasons others have said. But I feel that a lot of that game is going to be cut down and scrapped to polish it much more. And that may rub people the wrong way. It’s such a big game with many areas and I think if they compacted it and had Chris/Claire have their own campaigns (Similar to RE2) that would be much better.
Love these discussion type of videos. Honestly I really hope they change the ending (and maybe most of the storyline) to re5r and maybe make an re6r follow more closely to the 5 new ending, hopefully making it more of a grand conclusion to the whole arc, being 1-6

@@Reaches4Grapes I've not been an advocate for the series on a serious measure since the release of the original RE4 and frankly my enthusiasm has only gone from a slide to a plummet in recent time.
So 5 was already another indicator of how it was going to be - yes indeed it was altered before its release and this was back then. Imagine how much will be changed now.
Retconning it to no longer take place in Africa would be more racist than anything that could result from not doing that.
I would like that you start RE5 searching for Wesker with Jill, but make it hard to reach Wesker, puzzles, enemies, low suppies, I want that feeling of acomplishment to reach a boss. A good first boss fight and then we go to africa.

there are few things in existence that i hate more than RE5.😊 I remember playing it on release day only to find that it felt exactly like gears of war. then came the sadness. after that i threw it in the garbage where it belongs.😊

My main concern with RE5 being remade before CV:X is the group of new fans of the series that were introduced to the series with 7, 8, 2R, 3R, and 4R. Many of them haven't gone back to play any of the older games and aren't aware of the full story. You're going to end up seeing a lot of streamers confused as to who Wesker really is, why he's so powerful, why the rivalry between Chris and Wesker is so intense, how Jill and Chris know each other and why Jill's disappearance is sad to Chris, etc. Obviously, the RE fans who've played the older games will get it, but new fans will not. This is all because we haven't seen 1 re-remade or CV:X remade to re-introduce these to the new fans. I'd almost hope that instead of a Lost in Nightmares episode, we get a flashback chapter or two just touching on a few of the big scenes in RE1 and CV:X just to tie in the stuff not yet covered in this 'new-age remake timeline'.
Still in Africa, it should be. It was never outwardly racist, it just unfortunately fell on/aligned on some very easy comparisons to actual common racist tropes in media. A solution to this would also be a solution to some of the other points you made, primarily expanding on the story, setting, and overall horror. Some early cutscenes and new characters to humanize the locals and situation would be great, as it would also be that much more tragic when they fall to the virus and it would also help villainize Wesker and the others much more. If they do things right, they could solve a lot of problems all in one go!

RE5 came out when I was in 6th Grade and it's one of my favorite games ever, I've played it like a million times with an old childhood friend of mine. The backlash it got when it was first shown was hilarious to me. Being Black, I didn't really give a shit, I was just hella excited for another Resident Evil game. Honestly, I don't think many Black people gave a shit. I remembered seeing videos on UA-cam back then of Black creators saying how dumb the controversy was. Anyway, even though I'd rather have a CVX remake or another RE1 Remake(With optional 1st person and VR), a remake of RE5 with more horror and the combat from RE4 Remake would be amazing! The Wesker fights would be dope as Hell
They better keep it based in Africa, straight up pussies if they change it coz of "PC" little w****s. Also they better tone that OTT action down a notch and lift the horror vibes and difficulty / scarce ammo up. More in line with RE1 & RE2 but I guess a mix of them and RE4 would suffice. Yes the AI better be 100 times better and maybe just don't even give them a health bar, worry about yourself but they're there to help with shooting etc..
there's NO good reason to remake RE5 this idea that they all have to be remade is dumb, all it does is date them to an era of that remake, the era of third person remakes

What irked me all these years about RE5’s “Store” menu (for lack of a better term) was that they teased a merchant character at the beginning of the game but then killed him not 5 minutes after introducing him and left us with a bland menu for purchasing and selling items. RE5 remake, GIVE ME A MERCHANT!

I genuinely have remake fatigue. It’s getting so boring now. Can’t we just get new, original games? Another revelations game? Another decent spinoff? RE5 still holds up. A remake feels like such a waste of time. But I suppose it would certainly make Capcom a shitload of money..
RE5 definetely is not next. CV is the next remake. from a business POV this would be the best decision as it would make the most money in the long run. the end of RE4r and SW just tells you that RE5 will come, it doesn't tell it's next. that's nonsense

I think trying to sweep things under the rug doesn't "fix"any perceived racism. That being said, a remake would be the perfect time to make a change. If they are worried about a white man stomping black guys heads apart, they can move Kijuju from west africa closer to northeast africa, and have more of an arabic population... but there already are lots of arab-looking majini in the game, and adjusting the number of black zombies would probably be perceived as an admission of guilt.
You could also argue strongly against the whole racism thing...
Imagine all the majini started as stick figures, and then their appearances were applied later, maintaining a race/ethnicity ratio consistent with (the fictional) where the game takes place.
There are black people are in Africa, and if your game takes place there, pretending like there aren't just seems silly.
I don't think they'll change the setting of RE5. RE is very "equal opportunity" when it comes to violence. I think every main ethnic group has been turned into zombies at some point during the series.
As someone who bounced off the original release of RE5 I'd be willing to give it another shot, assuming the partner AI behaves like Luis. If I die, fine send me back to a check point but I should not be held responsible for the AI being stupid. I'd also be down for it to just be single player.
I do personally think it should have more of a horror aspect. However, that's not to say I didn't FULLY enjoy the game to the point I bought it on PS3, PS4, AND PC.
Played re5 recently with a buddy with friendly fire on. It was a lot of laughter, especially when we both went to finish the same enemy😅 If they can get some co-op with the new engine... TAKE MY MONEY!

No matter what remake is next, I think it’s safe to say they’re all gonna get the treatment. It’s just a matter of when.
I personally don't think they need to change the setting in a remake. They just need to tell the story better. The majini are victims that you're forced to defend yourself against exactly like the ganado were in RE4. And even more so you have SHEVA AND JOSH RIGHT THERE to personalize that fact and develop the narrative off of their response to all this. RE5's story should be an absolute nightmare for both of them, killing their countrymen, and in the original game they maybe bring it up maybe twice and give Sheva very few chances (Josh none) to express grief or regret or anger toward Tricell and Umbrella for terrorizing her home. The setting does not need to change. They just need to frame the main road of the game around the story/settings/characters better.
