Hi Gabriel, it was really crazy that we met you in some small town in Sicily. Thank you so much for the great travel recommendations! I can't wait to visit these incredible places on my trip to India. I'll make sure to let you know how my adventure goes. The guy in the white t-shirt! 😄🌍
While in India maybe you could stop by the scammer call centers and tell them to stop calling the USA trying to steal peoples money with there bogus insurance claims for the elderly and any other scams they collect from TV commercials. Just a thought.....my phone never stops ringing. lol cheers :)
Hey Milen, there are a few more places that you could consider visiting: Gokarna, Chikmagalur/Sakleshpur/Madikeri (Coffee plantations), Mangalore, Goa, Kerala etc. All these places are well-connected to Bangalore by buses (max. one night journey), trains and sometimes even flights. I think Gabriel has also visited most of these places so you can watch his videos to get an idea. Cheers!
@gabe, any plans of visiting Florence or Rome in the next week to 10 days? My wife and I are fans of yours and would love to meet you and say hello, in person! 🙂 we are going to be in Florence till 2nd October and in Rome after that until 6th October.
@@anirudhnayak3561 Not this trip. I've almost used up my 90 days in Europe so I have to leave in just a few days. They're both amazing cities, have a nice time.
We spent a month travelling around Sicily in a Fiat Bambino a few years back. Loved everything, the amazing archaeological sites, the incredible food and the friendly, down to earth nature of the people we met. The Aeolian Islands are worth a visit as well.
That was a Burrata on your plate near the pasta called fusilli with pistachio, the burrata is similar to a very soft mozzarella, they make it a lot in the Puglia region.
Very similar heritage my grandfather age 16 came with his best friend thru Ellis island from Naples. He learned a trade as a tailor at the NYC MET. Went on to raise a family with his own tailor shop in downtown Princeton NJ. Where he did handmade Italian suits ties and broadcloth for all the professors at the University. His favorite customer was Albert Einstein. Never learned to drive took train each day walked. Worked on his home garden till his late 70’s.
The Cheese on your pasta is Burrata it adds a great creamy texture to everything :) Often also served with tomatos, basil & olive oil as an appetizer or on top of pizza. Delish!!
@gabrieltraveler Welcome to Italy! I can't believe you are actually 1/4 Italian as well. 😉 The mozzarella looking is actually called Burrata which is also made from mozzarella. Looking forward to your Sardinia trip next 😉
Concerning your heritage: If you're ever in Antwerp, Belgium; you should definitely visit the Red Star Line Museum. Around the turn of the century, Antwerp was the departure town for most of the people who were emigrating to the US. It's a very well laid out museum that focuses on the reasons of emigration, how people made it from their respective countries to Antwerp, how they spent their time in Antwerp for a couple of days and then of course the journey by boat and arrival in the new world. There are also plenty of manifests and registries of the people who made the journey. Would definitely recommend in your case.
I absolutely loved our visit to Ellis island! So interesting to learn all of that history and imagine what it was like. Awesome you find your great grandfather’s records! Thanks for the tour in Sicily !
It feels like every street has a story, every meal is an epic saga, and every conversation might requires hand gestures just to fit in lol. Kidding aside, it's so good when you met people who watched your videos, isn it? I would love to have that kind of long conversation when I met someone who watched my TV show, too.
Hi Gab! Very interesting content. Especially when there’s are chat between a group from Bulgaria ❤. You’re famous now 😂👍( guy from Bulgaria ) Safe journey bro. Keep it up Gab don’t stop making a video. All the best for you.
the white ball in your pasta dish is burrata, similar to mozzarella but with creamy filling, usually made from buffalo milk, very common in Campania, enjoy your dinner.
That white ball is mozzarella de buffalo. Spread it on your bruschetta! Sicily has better Greek ruins than Greece itself. Agrigento, Selenunte, Segesta (near where you are). Roman villa with best mosaics in Italy is a must as well. Cheers
Sardinia is amazing! Apart from the incredible coastline of wild beaches and grottos, there are amazing interior caves to explore (Su Mannau), a grand canyon (Gola di Gorropu) to hike, ancient cork tree forests and thousands of Bronze Age nuraghes to discover.
I love Italy but have not been to Sicily either. Enjoyed seeing a bit more of Terrasini and hopefully other areas of Sicily as well, especially any ancient ruins. Lovely to hear about your Italian Great Grandfather and have that confirmed in NY. The food and vino there looks great, Cheers🍷❤️
Selenunte was the main Carthaginian settlement in Sicily and has reconstructed Doric temples plus the ruins of the largest temple ever built!! Villa Romans has the best mosaics you will ever see (the famous girls in bikinis playing sports! )
When you go to Palermo you must visit the Cathedral and the Cathacombs of Cappuccini it's a very unique place. If the weather is good you can have a swim in Mondello beach lovely christal clear blue sea, very close to the main town buses go there. For food if you want the real sicilian experience go to eat at "Ferro Di Cavallo" it's a very good restaurant very cheap good wine as well.
I love that you are in Sicily. I will go back and watch the previous video that I seem to have missed. I hope you catch the train that goes around the circumference of Mount Etna - some cute villages and towns to stop on/off along the route. I think you catch the train from Catania but its not at the normal train station its elsewhere iirc. Your meal at the end was a Buffolo Mozzerella ball. Heads up in the UK we are 50/50 on hanging laundry out to dry versus using a machine to dry but since economic prices rose too high more people are reverting to hanging laundry out in UK. When you go to Sardinia please check out Bosa - very colourful town close to the sea.

Hi Gabriel, there are some things you can see near the Valley of the Temples or Palermo’s Regional Archaeological Museum. You also head to Syracuse’s ancient ruins and archaeological museum or Roman mosaics at Piazza Amarina. I'm hoping you get a chance to see some interesting places around Sicily before you leave.
