- Here's a recent visit to DMV Spirits on 50th St NW, Washington DC. It's an awesome store and I had so much fun that I left the video fairly long. I feel like it's worth watching the whole thing, hopefully you will too!

Love this exposure for him. Great guy that genuinely loves what he does, and he gives back to the community.
Shop owner should have a camera in the shop and a regular channel. I like his honest presentation when talking whiskey.

I don't know how I discovered this place but it is super unique and worth the trip. As a woman interested in bourbon, it is also a very comfortable and welcoming environment, which is not always the case.

I’ve been here and agree that it’s a great shop. The owner started this as a passion project. And you definitely have to be careful cause you’ll sample so much liquor! Owner is a great guy and is passionate about bourbon

Mike’s a great guy, super welcoming. I made my first trip this past weekend and had a blast tasting some bottles I’d never seen in the wild, and talking whiskey with some other guests. Left with that Jacob’s Pardon. Definitely going to keep supporting him.
Awesome! I might go back for that Jacob's Pardon. 200 for an 18 year hazmat is really a steal when you think about it.

My favorite liquor store. I wish it were closer to me. I order a case of bottles every time I make the trip.
What an interesting store where you can get a sample of something you are interested in before you go buy it. If I was around there I would go often.
This is definitely a unique store one of the smallest stores I’ve seen. But he’s trying and that’s what matters. And he try’s the whiskey which is rare in stores around me in fact one store has employees who don’t even know what they are selling to them it’s clear or brown fluid. Nice video and hopefully you picked up a bottle for a decent price. I know this area is ridiculously expensive.
Exactly! That's what I love about that place, it's impossible to spend money on a bad bottle when you taste them first. Prices are very reasonable especially compared to other DC stores. I grabbed a Little Book and a Ragged Branch Cowboy Cut which I had never tried but absolutely blew me away!
Re: Hooten Young, the name is Norm Hooten, don't know where you got Jack...but 150 for light whiskey is a bit agressive, even for aged
Considering I see that 18 y/o Jacobs Pardon as high as 220, I don’t think 150 for a 16 year old cask strength is too crazy. I feel like brands are still trying to figure out how to market light whiskey. But you’re right, if it were 25% cheaper that’d be an easier pill to swallow
Cool store and experience. I would have tried that Westward Cask Strength as I am trying to get into single malts and I can only find online.
I do need to try that, have tried some of their finished single malts and really like them, need a cask strength though. They do it the way I like, no peat, aged in new oak. I'm sure it's excellent.
That is a pretty cool place. I’ve been there a few times.
