Destiny 1 Weapons That Have Not Returned In Destiny 2

- Hi all, a few quick things I forgot to add in the video, I Messed up when researching and the KHVOSTOV WILL BE returning in Final Shape, but i'll keep in the segment about it because I imagine some will still want to see the gameplay. Also, when I say released in Destiny 1, I mean it was released when destiny first came out.
I didn’t have access to my Xbox where I would have played the game so if you didn’t notice, I always left credit for where I got the video on the top right of every clip. I also made sure to try and pick as many different sources for video clips as I didn’t want to use one youtuber for all the clips, which probably wouldn’t be the right thing to do anyway.
My main source of information were the various destiny wikis that exist, so I could be slightly off on how to get specific weapons, and ways to get weapons can change based on if they were re-released during the taken king or rise of iron.
I Messed up on one more thing, Khvostov will be returning in Final Shape!
I had a lot of fun looking through old UA-cam videos for clips so hopefully this was a fun nostalgia trip.

uhm, i’m not crazy right? They said Khovostov was coming back alongside Red Death and Dragonsbreath
you're actually right, literally went right over my head. I'll go ahead and pin this comment
They did and I was about to mention that too
Oh shit yeah I forgot they said that. My excitement for red death and DB was too high. Hopefully we get more D1 weapons in FS, I would love icebreaker and no land beyond (even though one would probably break the entire game and the other is bad)
@@taspenssthey also stated that no land beyond would be coming back as well
@@kanewilson8624where/when did they say this?
With the brand new sidearm archetype of "Rocket Pistols" coming next year, I could easily see them reworking Dreg's Promise to be within it! I think it'd be super cool to see it come back as a special ammo sidearm
That's actually a perfect idea.
So we’re getting Torgue Weapons in D2?
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFireyes
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFireEXPLOSIONS??!
@@elton9721 🤯
Zhalo supercell could work similarly to deterministic chaos, in that it could jolt targets on every 3rd shot and reloading the entire mag on defeating a jolted target. The catalyst would then have you gain more super energy though defeating jolted targets.
Man... First Curse was my jam. I loved playing PvP with it and it was just an amazing weapon overall.
The Khvostov is already confirmed coming as a exotic FROM THE SHOWCASE this year
I know people don't think
Icebreaker can return, but if they rework it with a better Overflow instead of ammo regen, it can easily return.
The Super Good Advice was a launch weapon, not year 2 BTW
I would give it a reconstruction overflow exotic trait to fit the ammo regen feel
I feel like we’re going to obtain the khvostov from a quest and we’re going to go through nostalgic moments to collect the pattern. We’re going to the old tower and the place we were resurrected in the cosmodrome could be seen during the trailer.
@@GAMEZIZGOODor simply enable ammo regen in pve, and disable it in pvp, explain in lpre as a banned feature by shaxx, and so you can’t use it.
Some of the remaining exotics would feel amazing in D2. NLB being one. Not to mention one key detail: Devrim still bloody has it in his hands! The fact WE don't have it yet despite the model very well being in the game is insanity!
Makes me mad that he has one but we don't
@@djamericanboy1 Not to mention the skill gap required for the weapon. Unlike two specific weapons. Would be great for it to be an EDZ quest reward even!
@@Fenyxclips IMO, No Land Beyond should have the greatest hip-fire accuracy out of all sniper rifles in the game to compensate for its lack of scope.
I am surprised nlb hasn’t returned considering devrim kay is holding one in the tower
If devrim dies........
Ice Breaker was my favourite exotic in D1 it was a great go to raid weapon. However Bungie will most likely never bring it back in D2 because it would break the special ammo economy, it would make lots of people use Ice Breaker as a crutch & therefore other special weapons will see far less use & Bungie don’t want that.
But again, they can maybe rework it and balance it like they did with most bring back exotics. Since we do have special weapons that have perks that can return ammo and etc. We did have that crucible sniper that a shot miss give the bullet back that reminded me of ice breaker slightly.
Ik Bungie don't want inf ammo special weapons, but we already getting similar perks and builds to it. By time, they prob will add it.
@@real_saber yeah it’s true we already have mulligan which gives back ammo on missed shots, and we have things like subsistence which gives ammo back on kills.. so Bungie just bring back ICE BREAKER!! They’ll do it for the next next expansion (D3) pre order exotic or something lol
They will bring it back they’ve been bringing everything back that people loved in d1 with that being said we’ll see it again but it’ll probably be ass
@@Celestialnighthawk I dunno… it’s been what 4 years now & still no ice breaker.. having said that still no SRL (Sparrow Racing) which the community have been begging to bring back as well
@@SparkyMTB good point but I’m convinced they will because they are extremely greedy and scummy it’s a good opportunity to sell to nostalgia lords considering light fall left a bad taste in the communities mouth
The ones i would want the most to come back are: Pocket Infinity, Zen Meteor and Young Wolf's Howl.
Pocket Infinity is locked away in a vault hundreds of miles underground and will never see the light of day.
@@patrickoakley7890unfortunately
@@patrickoakley7890 they do a great job reworking stuff, that weapon is not beyond saving. They can make some interesting changes, like removing that full auto mode and adding something Warmind related, since that is the first Warmind exotic.
I could see Zen Meteor coming to D2 as basically a Solar version of Cloudstrike. Not sure if it would necessarily be super great, but I think it would still fit the game
I think Dreg's Promise could return well if they make the bullets like Fallen projectiles with the fairly insane tracking. Like Osteo Striga x Trespasser
In the showcase they mentioned adding an exotic which would be “golden gun as a sniper”
@@Cillian-wwweeee
True, but they also shown us its Concept Art and it's obviously not Zen Meteor.
@@Cillian-wwweeee That wasn't Zen Meteor, it was a new weapon, along with several others (like the "Traveler Beam Trace Rifle"
They said they dont plan on bringing back icebreaker because trying to balance infinite ammo is nearly impossible (i just want to hear its firing sound again :( )
They’re dumb as fuck and I hate that logic. We can literally use a finisher and create special ammo out of thin air. Icebreaker regenerating a measly 6 shots over the course of a minute and a half would be so far from “broken” like everyone says.
Hey! Super Good Advice was released year one. It was a part of the Bounty Board Exotic quest line. That you also got Bad Juju, and Pocket Infinity from.
Yeah shots missed were refunded but also you got shots back that also landed so 90% of your magazine was always refunded.
Never played D1 before, but i have some ideas about some D1 exotics rework
Zen Meteor - Leave it as it is, just give Final round higher damage and make it apply 50x scorch on body shot and ignite on headshot, making target explode
Dreg's Promise - Continious precision hits with this weapon apply blinding effect around target
Nemesis Star - Hold reload to change its fire rate. High Fire rate deals less damage, but killing enemies has a chance to make them explode, applying volatile to nearby enemies. Slow Fire rate deals increased damage and continious precision hits apply weaken on target
Super Good Advice - Give it Mulligan+Subsistence+Rampage combo in exotic perk, but give it less reserves
Ice Breaker - Deals increased Presicion damage, but you cant reload manually, reload should be sorta like Reconstruction, but faster
Patience and Time - Killing enemy while crouched makes you invisible. While invisible, precision shots dont break your invisibility and you deal increased damage
Hereafter - Next shot after precision kill will blind opponent. Continious precision shots weakens the target
Plan C - Has intrinsic Surrounded + Cornered. Kills with this weapon while surrounded partially reload other weapons
Invective - scrap whole regen ammo thing and give it an ability to hold down reload button to load 1 big explosion round into it. It would be great for burst DPS
I haven't mentioned some exotics, because i think they either great as they are, based on what they do, or require some heavy rework like Boolean Gemini.
Thanks for the vid dude!
I really like those ideas. Something I saw with a comment earlier is that Dreg's promise could come back in the new rocket sidearm archetype being added in Final Shape.
This is awesome keep up never stop youtube! Your videos are indecrenible!!! Love the editing 😊😊
8:42 I think it’s pretty obvious why they wouldn’t bring it back… it’s kinda impossible to balance, and a less powerful version of it (revoker) was one of the few reasons sunsetting had to happen
Super good advice was vanilla destiny 1, not year 2. Hereafter also had a pretty significant extra feature of having 2 zoom levels, it zooming in more when you crouch, the whole scope being a reference to the halo sniper's scope in that feature and general design.
Man I'm actually kinda surprised the Halo sniper wasn't added into 30th anniversary now. I feel that would of been peak crossover
They should bring Ice Breaker back and make it behave like Ex Diris does. That is, ammo gets immediately pulled from reserves into the gun when you fire. Still gives that “never reload” aspect to the gun. Then also give it shoot to loot for the “sit in the back the entire time” aspect.
i think the recent adition of deterministic chaos is a way of sort of bringing nova mortis back as it is the only void exotic machine gun
also, Super good advice was a Year one exotic dropped from bounties that then became available in year two as a drop. :)
I think I recall the devs specifically mentioning pocket infinity never coming back just because of how much of a nightmare the weapon was to get working and not break things. Though not sure if that is still the case
Ice breaker could come back as a: Rapid fire frame sniper, with incandescent + an exotic perk that each shot reloads the sniper from the magazine, and shots apply minimal scorch stacks
ikelos sr with fourth times the charm and incandescent
Pocket infinity was hilarious in pvp. every shot missed returned to the mag. It had only 4 rounds in the mag but could fire 8 to 10 shots before reloading meaning you could just hold the trigger and track opponents till you got the kill. Still does this till this day.
the one exotic i want the most is definitely first curse and i think it's the best contender too for 3 reasons
1. hand cannons are by far the most popular destiny weapon in pvp and they're pretty good in pve too
2. we haven't had an exotic hand cannon since beyond light with hawkmoon
3. we don't have a slow firing exotic hand cannon outside of sturm which i don't count because it's exotic perk requiires you to equip another weapon so really i consider it a beefy legendary
imo they would have to change it entirely while still keeping it feeling the same
I remember doing Khvostov exotic quest. Right before the story mission ended my ghost said something and Nostalgia hit me 🥲
Rise of Iron really was a banger of a DLC. It’s a shame Bungie almost never acknowledges it
@@A-with-the-J
As much as I like it, it didn't really contribute much to the current Story about the "Light & Darkness" so I can see why they don't pay much attention to it.
Also!
Merciless was a Hybrid of both Pocket Infinity and Plan C as both of what made those 2 D1 fusion rifles unique are what now makes merciless.
Super good advice was released in Year 1 of D1. You could get it from the exotic bounties
I liked the exotic khostov. You could use it as a auto rifle, pulse rifle, or scout. And different rpm/damage profiles for each
i just want the exotic class items back.
Bro, you forgot the Raze lighter, Bolt caster and Dark drinker exotic swords. Those swords were awesome. That was my most used exotic on all three of my characters towards the end of D1
I mention in the beginning of the video that I left them out because their attack styles have been added into destiny 2 as frames
Oh yes, I remember pocket infinity. I got my first drop or acquisition of the weapon, I can’t remember, around the time of rise of iron. People were using some type of meta-in PVP and here I am just spamming pocket infinity shots at people to the point where they start messaging me and telling me that I’m trash at the game because they somehow can’t kill me while I use this neat little gun. Also, I can’t remember the reason, but Margie had said that there have no plans on bringing back no land beyond. It’s essentially in Destiny 2 but an NPC has it.
I’d love zen meteor and super good advice, but I don’t see anymore d1 exotics coming back after final shape
Bringing back No Land Beyond would be all the changes I need to jump back into crucible!😂
I'm just glad that red death is coming back. It was my first ever exotic in Y1/D1, & crimson is nothing compared to it. The look and feel of the weapon just felt awesome. I wouldn't mind the catalyst being similar to MC in D2. Instead of a stab, let me bash the side of the weapon (since it had spikes), on enemies. You could even tweak it further with "When enemies are hit with the spikes, you gain health regen & a kinetic over shield". Would be decent IMO.
super good advice was available in year 1. I know because i received well before the taken king
The kovostov is coming back in final shape in some way idk details but that’s what was said at the showcase
Abbadon would be really cool if it came back just the same, but with the added benefit of stacking scorch per shot like Skybreakers Oath does.
Nova Mortis could be cool too, maybe automatically apply volatile? Or the longer its held on a target it suppresses them.
Abaddon and Nova mortis should come back as a perk on thunderlord ik it has a catalyst but I feel you could rework it to be another gun to have the fundamentals perk
Universal remote could definitely come back with the current state of shotguns. It could easily just be a shotgun that shot slow like an agressive, but instead of having the most pellets (therefor most damage output) could just include the inner circle of the shotgun spread, essentially being half a regular shotgun blast. Or they could just make the alt fire on Cerberus not suck.
Ngl I have no idea why i though this, but i was convinced for the longest time that Dregs Promise shot projectiles that had tracking on them ala old skyburners. I'd kinda like that to come to d2.
I also thought that pocket infinity could come back as a fusion rifle that could stack multiple bursts, you charge it for as long as you wanted, and depending on how long you held the charge for, the burst would have, just an insane amount of bolts.
Icebreaker is never coming back, it was such a nightmare of balance, just completely ruining everything, the *problem* was that it never left peoples inventory. No one used anything else. if they ever wanted to, you could just make revoker and slap icebreakers model on it.
Same problem with Invective infinite ammo bad for game. Real shame because its Ikoras canonical weapon of choice
Darci is basically Hereafter. Hereafter does a better job though.
Fuck I want first curse. It's been my top pick for returning D1 weapons ever since they ruined last word (particularly for M&K) I don't see it coming back though as if it did, it'd just be DMT.
Didn't play a ton of D1. I got into it only a week before Rise of Iron dropped and I didn't even realize at the time a new DLC was arriving. I got the game just to appease a friend as she was asking I think literally our whole friend group and I was the only one to agree. I mostly only played Hunter, and mostly only Gunslinger, only swapping to Bladedancer in PvP (still prefer it to Arcstrider). I remember using only like 3 or 4 Exotic weapons at most. I know I had Ace of Spades and Last Word but they took a backseat for Hawkmoon. Out of all these the only one I remember even using is Khvostav and Patience and Time
Bungie could bring Pocket Infinity back as a fusion rifle version of Fourth Horseman. Long charge time that leads to 4 shots releasing consecutively. Since you only start with 2 ammo in the crucible, I don't think it'd be too cracked just like you never see the 4th Horseman in the crucible. Give it a firmly planted catalyst that helps control recoil and it could be a lot of fun.
Invective could definitely come back as a void exotic shotgun as we don't currently have anything that fits that archetype. Since it was Ikora's gun, make it so with a void subclass equipped, precision kills with this gun grant devour. While devour is active, defeating void debuffed targets with this weapon refunds ammo. The catalyst can grant destabilizing rounds. You can get your ammo regen but only off some other prep work first. It would work great with Child of the old gods.
Icebreaker also is just another flavor of cloudstrike/sniper version of sunshot so that could be why they dont add
They will never bring it back, because - as Bungie said themselves - balancing its infinite ammo would be borderline impossible (which is true).
Loved boolean too idk why it jusy felt great, used it tons on my warlock when i wasnt using the warlock class exotic
I have never ever forgotten icebreaker. I miss it so much. More than anything.
Dregs Promise would be good if it had those rounds from the shock pistol they use. Them annoying ones that track to you behind cover.
I would run NLB and 1000 yard stare in crucible. NLB for the hipfire/quick scope potential, and the 1K for the longer distance fights💯
super good advice was in first year of destiny... That was my first exotic bounty...
0:30 in the showcase didn’t they say something like “The (whatever it was called(it’s an exotic and customizable version of the starting weapon auto-rifle in the cosmedrone, the Russian rifle… I still love the old look.)) has to make a return…” pffffft uhhhhm I uh I dunno it’s been “weeks?” I think.
10:07 my mind was thinking ace of spades for some reason.
Fabian could of been great. Overflows mag and activate surrounded when 3 or more enemies are nearby plus change it to a 900 rpm
my wish was already granted when Monte Carlo came back in shadowkeep now when I see a new exotic I only think, oh that is cool whatever. Back to polish my bayonet.
Universal remote should return as strand and the exotic perk could be (UNIVERSAL REMOTE) able to be used in any slot primary secondary and heavy would make for baller loadouts
I wonder if No land Beyond or Universal Remote will ever come back. They existed to take up the primary slot when you couldn’t run double special. They pretty much lost their uniqueness.
They already have class specific exotics in the glaives.
With the thunderlord clones, it'd actually be really nice for people who like surges, since it means you can surge for both supers and heavy instead of one or the other (and having them solar explode and void explode to match the tlord lighting bolts would be epic)
Also, someone forgot about the class exclusive exotic glaives, but considering how long it takes to get one I don't blame you
Glaives? In D1?
Khvostov was my favourite and still is my favourite gun follow by no land beyond.
Of whats left not in D2 my picks would Zhalo Supercell, Tlaloc and Boolean Gemini. Zhalo was fantastic, Boolean and Tlaloc were just real solid scout rifles I enjoyed using
I really want the Class-specific Exotics since we have Ace of Spades in D2
i will cry tears of joy if NLB gets brought into D2. easily one of my fav d1 exotics.
Khvostov should return as a kinetic rifle with a bunch of barrels and fire modes to choose from but have it's exotic perk be "Consistency" which let's it match elements to your subclass and it gets ammo regen when you have a buff from your subclass affecting you. Then give it the catalyst which gives it the perk "Ol' Reliable" makes it grant woven mail, grant cure, grant devour or grant amplified depending on your subclass when you get a kill on a major. That way it can pair into any player's build and feel unique at the same time. It doesn't do anything special but it works for everything.
Would very much feel like our very own weapon with that much to it. A weapon to work with every build regardless? Will take that and never take it off!
Bungie already said that Exotic Khovostov will return in "The Final Shape."
The Exotic Perk you mentioned will never happen (other than we already have a version of it as a Perk called "Osmosis).
It would be extremly OP and would render a lot of other Auto Rifles basically useless.
@@TheCursedCat1927 I'm not talking osmosis. I'm talking something similar to telessation? Tessalation? Whatever that new gun is that changes element to match your subclass.
Don't give it great damage but make it something just reliable and nice for any build.
Also when and where did they say the Stov is returning? I didn't hear anything about that
@@ClockworkBlade
D2 Showcase from like 3 weeks ago - they announced that Khovostov, Red Death, and Dragon's Breath will return in "The Final Shape."
@@TheCursedCat1927 oh damn I guess I didn't catch that. Huh wonder why it was listed in the video and wasn't mentioned in the video as returning ones that won't be listed along side red death and dragon's breath.
I would love to see no land beyond back I really only play pve and just like the iron sights instead of a scope. I would also like to see patience and time back maybe change the perk to be fires a higher damage shot that stuns unstoppable champions while invisible?
Zen meteor could come back if they changed it up..
Main perk..
“ Multi kills and constant precision hits makes the next shot *ignite* on impact and killing targets with that shot chains *ignition* to all nearby targets making them *ignite* as well “
Trait is..
“ killing targets with the *ignition* shot spawns a fire well a *firesprite* at the target’s location (standing in fire wells increase damage and reload speed and scope visibility and it also damages enemies standing in them) “
Catalyst..
“ Killing a target with the *ignition* shot reloads the magazine from reserves “
Also gains triple tap.
They did tease a sniper rifle that shot golden gun rounds so it could be the successor to Zen Meteor
The nostalgia
Tlaloc, not T-laloc xd (Great vid btw)
Thanks PlayeraJ16!
I wish for The First Curse to come back. Defo my favorite hc from d1
Bungie have said before they bring icebreaker and no land beyond they want to fix the ammo economy
Zhalo was my favourite weapon hope it comes back
Khvostov 7g is also returning in final shape dlc
I disagree with the thunderlord counterparts with surges and so many ways to buff in solar vs devour on void these could be very powerful pve weapons
I lowkey loved sniping with no land beyond. So many fun exotics that could come back. The Boolean gemini was such a long quest omg. I literally only got it for pvp. I loved it in pvp. The exotic swords were so good. Pocket infinity was just insane omg. The class specific exotics were a pretty cool addition to the game Honestly. I’m d2 we just got those bad Glaives based on each class. Ngl with how mid most snipers are in pve now I think they should bring back icebreaker ngl. I mean Izinagi is good for boss dps phases but I feel like snipers do not do enough in pve. I think the first curse fits In the game. Last word is all about hip fire and first curse is all about ads and hitting precision shots.
3 of them, Khvostov, Dragon’s Breath and Red Death will be coming back in TFS.
Heres my hot take as of the release of TFS : Still Hunt is what zen metor wishes it was
So it would make sense to bring back my favorite sniper rifle "but not forgotten" lmao
We will hopefully get everything back after the final shape
If they added the scout that only warlocks could use, and auto riffle only titans could use in d1. Im pretty sure it wouldnt be class exclusive. Ace of spades was the hunter class exclusive and now any class can use it.
Yeah, my wish for class specific exotics to come back is pretty hopeless.
I got my ice breaker from my first prison of elders due to the guaranteed exotic you got
Hell nah yall took took the hunter class specific ace of spades so we get the others as well
Icebreaker and Invective will most likely never return to D2, same with NLB, the ammo economies would have to be reworked almost entirely because they generate ammo, and NLB being primary meant easy refills on other primary weapons back in the day, but there’s no way they’d bring it back as primary. Especially when it would be outclassed by other snipers, it’s not worth for them to remake, at least not yet.
If you’d do a simple google search about those 3 you’d see multiple posts and articles about them saying just that. The special ammo economies would have to be completely redone to include them.
Your point on first curse confuses me. Since you kind of make it out to be the same as last word when its supposed to be the opposite
Shoulda brought back NLB as the Spire of the Watcher legendary sniper. Maybe like with a Tex Mechanica reskin but it would have literally been perfect
NLB doesn't really need a Reskin.
It already is a Tex Mechanica weapon.
I hope they can bring back Universal Remote. Perhaps even changing it to an Automatic Shotgun and adjusting it's lethality to compensate for it using Primary Ammo.
They could also possibly adjust No Land Beyond's lethality too.
Fabian Strategy and Tlaloc deserve to come back if Ace of Spades was allowed to.
Young Wolf's Howl should be an Iron Banner related exotic by now.
And I really want The First Curse to return with adjustments to make it a better weapon.
First Curse was already great. I will gladly accept a buff lol
I can't wait for khvostov, red death and dragons breath to come back
Taspens makes our deppresion burn away.
Icebreaker & Plan C are the next weapons I hope they bring back.
I don't play this game otherwise I'd watch your videos, big fan of the Taspens channel tho
Icebreaker and Patience and Time. Invective was good too.
Supercell would be lethal with arc in d2
It only a matter of time before ice breaker returns
Zen meteor could fit d2 imo, simply changing its perk from having 3 kills to 3 precision shots, could make the gun quite good
I mean, at that point it's literally just Cloudstrike, but Solar...
@@TheCursedCat1927 not really, as it would make it so 3 rapid precision hit give a single high damage shot to end the mag, no fancy lightning strikes (so only 4 bullets before reloading). Heck i could even see high impact reserves as a catalyst
Literally all Bungie needs to do to bring back No Land Beyond is change the ammo box from a white Icon to a green icon, but no they insist on Robbing me of my favorite all time sniper, and offering me zero scopeless substitutes
Plan C's exotic perk is just the Backup Plan perk in D2
yea but it was BUSTED on Plan C...backup plan is just a nice thing to have on fusions and arguably one of the only perks that makes fusions usable
Kavastov has been confirmed as returning in final shape
Bungie mentioned that icebreaker and invective will never come to destiny 2 as their entire concept would break D2's ammo economy.
Maybe they could be altered. Not getting my hopes up tho
boolean gemini my beloved
I want patience and time back.
And the original Queen breaker bow.
I can alwo see Avaddon and nova mortis beind added with scorch and volatile effects.
Counterpoint: make Patience and Time into a Legendary Perk.
@@TheCursedCat1927 I would rather have the Exotic because of it's look.
I would also update it to remove scope glare in PVP but can only fire when invisible without breaking it when you fire.
Zhalo supercell has to come back
Why isnt ice breaker coming back? Same reason revoker was sunset, and thats the same reason the shotgun ain't coming back either
The thing i dont understand is how the no land beyond hasn't returned yet. Its one of the most unique weapons in the game and Devrim has been holding it for 6 years. They've clearly remastered the guns texture to fit inside the way Destiny 2 looks. So why haven't they brought it back.
Yeah, no land beyond is one of the top 3 exotics I want to return.
I wouldnt like class spesific exotic weapons back, as a waelock main, Im glad Ace isn't a hunter exotic weapon
If Icebreaker comes back I might consider returning to the game.
Wow like all of these exotics were from house of wolves and taken king. They really dropped the ball.
