Why Destiny 1 Factions Failed In Destiny 2

- Hi everyone, hopefully you enjoyed the video. I actually remember the last few faction rallies fondly, and too be fair I think that was because everyone was excited for forsaken to release. I wonder if Bungie would have kept faction rallies if they had released in the state they were in during the Warmind DLC, although they have abandoned quite a few systems from vanilla D2.

One of the multiple things that they should’ve just brought back from D1 and left it the way it was.
I miss Faction Rallies, I didn’t mind them in the state they were in before Bungie trashed them.
Most importantly though, it’s been over 5 years now and we still have no way to access the 3 exotic ornaments (as well as legendary armor ornaments) that came from faction rallies. For some of those exotic armor, like Eye of Another World, it’s literally the only ornament for it but there’s no way to get it. I’m sure there will be the gatekeepers that scream “Should have been there”, but it’s been more than long enough and they need to make them available again.
The only flaw with this is that Lakshmi's identity was predicted years back
The biggest issue right now with bringing them back is the storyline. You remember what happened during season of the splicer?
If a faction system is to return, it should be done with brand new factions. Ones that weren’t deported from the city.
I joined the game at the start of Warmind having never played Destiny 1. I was primarily a solo-matchmade player, and would often play with one friend or with my SO. I really loved Faction Rallies for the challenge it added to the game (via escalating difficulty in lost sectors), and I also supported FWC every single time because I LIKED FWC (even though their colors were jank). I'm no longer a "solo-only" player and SO doesn't play anymore. Not being solo means I have access to Raids and more difficult content. I legit had fun grinding lost sectors, but I look at Destiny 2 today and realize everything I loved about Faction Rallies is still in the game. We still get a few weeks of guardian games every year, and more importantly, my love for difficult solo content is still in the game via lost sectors and dungeons. Legendary Lost sectors still give me the same feel. I still grind them non-stop for about a week once every month or so. The rewards (exotic stat farming) are also better. I cannot speak for Destiny 1, but Destiny 2 content is a million times better today than it was when I joined, so I personally don't miss Faction Rallies.
It would have been the perfect time to bring them back next season since we are getting faction weapon focusing. Whole idea thrown out the window.
I think having new factions about the allies of humanity would be pretty sick. Just imagine having an eliksni, cabal or awoken faction
Underrated channel💯
Seriously underrated, loved the presentation style video instead of just talking
Glad you enjoyed it
After Final Shape I think it would be the best time to re-introduce them, they could be the perfect substitutes for Zavala, Ikora, Drifter, Mara and Eris Morn, which I don't believe will be used as often after the Final Shape concludes, they could be further fleshed out for us to explore in the new seasonal model, maybe they will be connected to future seasonal activities/relic system and hopefully bring back some PvP & PvE trinkets to farm each season.
The issue is the story. You remember what happened in season of the splicer?
@@captainrelyk Yeah but I think Future Warcult could be replaced.
@@exile9024 and new monarchy too. Dead Orbit I could see returning as they didn’t help FWC or NM, but just knew what they were doing and stayed neutral and didn’t say anything
Tbh, we could just replace them with The Imperial Cabal, House Of Light Eliksni, and The Reef Awoken instead.
Hell, it might even be a good excuse to bring back guns from seasons of the Chosen, Lost, and Splicer, but with origin traits and armor.
Lakshmi kinda screwed the other factions back in splicer as I believe lore wise after she was exiled or something the other factions feared what would happen to them so they left, only the locations in tower are left to show the scar left behind, I played d1 on 360 and partnered a factions with each class, hunter dead orbit, warlock fwc, and titan new monarchy
Good video but with one small flaw being the risk runner catalyst wasn't from factions. The catalysts were Dead Orbit Graviton Lance, Future War Cult Sunshot, and New Monarchy Sweet Business.
Anyways FWC fan here has a rank of 250 before D2 launched.
That's actually funny since I recorded that small part a few times and I think my final recording I reverted to riskrunner instead of sweet business and at that point didn't even notice.
@@taspenss lmao
I wished they could have given us their D2 faction vendor exotic armor piece rare ornaments back to us for D2
Instead of the faction vendors returning
They would've been worth it for me on spending my money to have them returned back once again within D2 though
having rare stuff is 10 times more often desirable
then anything else
they are known as being called priceless items
anything can be rare as well
So no one here knows Tunki online
i dont know that game but however very nice
I enjoyed Faction rallies bring it back bungo
While it was nice to have factions in the game from the perspective of universe-building, I didn't enjoy faction rallies. To me they were nothing more than yet another FOMO-driven event and their mechanics ranged from uninteresting to outright annoying. I don't need stuff like that in the game, that's for sure. But I wouldn't mind them if they were added permanently.
DeadOrbit 4Life!
Dead orbit all day
I was fine with FWC leaving due to narrative reasons. Making the other factions essentially just “agree” with them made no sense. It felt super lazy and was done just to write them out of the story.
