Interesting. Especially with all the cats prowling around. This house was furnished by Ernest Hemingway's rich-rich wife Pauline, and it is pretty gaudy for the times. I also saw the video of Hemingway's home in Cuba, furnished by his 3rd wife Martha. It is not as ritzy looking, but in all honesty, I liked the Cuba house much better. Seems more like a home, not so much a mansion.

i found the stairway to the second floor extremely steep

I wonder when the suspended walkway from his bedroom to the studio was removed? Did the family own it till it became a museum?

The house is full of cats of the special breed favoured by Hemingway, they all have extra finger on each paw.
