I think you were very generous giving those plastics a 7 . Like you always say you’re never gonna get things perfect but you would expect them to be a bit closer than that. Anyhow just watched both new episodes and as usual great videos, cheers from over in Australia 🇦🇺👍

Your right, 7 was too high. Do you have any options for new plastics? Thank You John

If it doesn’t fit, the score is zero.

I too had to use DC Plastics for a project. The downside is everything you said. I ordered some side covers and they looked like they were vacuum formed over OEM parts. My covers fit exactly over my old OEM covers, and it had NO tabs on the inside for like an airbox seal. The plus was that i have an 84 CR 80 that i wanted 84 CR sidecovers in white and they were, "Sure...NOT a problem." So I was between a rock and a hard place. I did try a plastic polishing kit that helped a LOT. It still wasnt as nice as injection molding, but it was WAY better than satin. I contacted DC and asked them in the future if i could order the pieces un cut, just make the form and i'll trim it at my place. They said they could. Some of the trimming was terrible on my stuff. You are right, they arent giving the stuff away, but they have more reproduction plastic than anyone else too...soooooo. 🤔

Never use a standard drill bit on plastics-use a unibit-perfect factory style holes everytime!!- also use a threaded stud-sharpened to mark the holes-threaded into the hole locations

Good call. I have the plastic drill bit but just forget to use it.

all i can say is piss poor R&D (manufacturing) your video is always a "10" also can you make a lil tab mount to original hole and mount plastic to tab for support?

As always Thank You Cajun! I'm not clear on what tab you are asking about?

@@JTSCUSTOMS I was thinking mounting a flat tab for the side panel with the bolt issue. a lil flat tab with 2 holes 1 mounted to frame and pass a matching bolt thru the sidecove and catch the tab. .

I know! But it looks like your only choice. I couldn't find anyone else that make a kit for the 1980 yz80?
