  • I tried to find as many new uses for Shabrys' changes to this version and this is what I found. Most of these combos are specific to 2.5 (Some are very minor revisions). By no means are these all optimal and the fatal counters I kept especially simple on purpose to easily cash in on damage. Notations and tips added 4/13.
    -For combos that incorporate titanomachia in this way "214214c (5c 2c 214c)" sometimes the 2c will whiff on the opponent. This is because they slide on the ground and stretch the ingame camera. If shabrys is far enough away such that the camera is stretched out enough, then the 2c's tracking won't whiff.
    -You cannot buffer titanomachia before 2c or 5c connect (Asterius will buffalo hammer instead)
    -Landing j.214a after 2c has very strict timing. Make sure the opponent is as close to the ground as possible when titanomachia is inputted. Doing a super jump j.214a can help alleviate this timing.
    -Teddie is difficult to land B brutal impact after public execution due to his small hurtbox. As long as shabrys is far enough away when teddie wallbounces from public execution, it should still connect with delayed timing.
    -Being able to do a dashing superjump is extremely useful in many of shabrys' midscreen combos. While dashing, simply input 369 to keep dash momentum during superjump.
    0:00 2a 5b 5c 2ab [5c] dash iad j.a j.2b (dash) superjump jbb 5c j.214a [5c] (236d)
    0:09 j.b 5aa 5b 2b superjump j.bb 5c j.214a [5c] 236d (safejump) j.2b [236d] 2b j.2b j.bb 5c j.214a [5c] 236d
    0:22 j.b 2a 5b 5c 2ab [5c] C28d dash iad j.a j.2b [C28d] microdash 5ac 214214b C28cd 214214ab
    0:41 j.b 2a 5b 5c 2ab 2ac [5c] j.2b C28cd 214b [C28cd] 214214ab
    -This costs 50 sp less than the previous combo for only ~400 less damage. 214b can be swapped for 214a for easier timing but less damage.
    0:53 j.b 5aa 5b 2b superjump j.b j.214b 8c j.2b j.bb 5c j.214a [5c] 214314a C28d 5ac 214214b
    1:10 5aaa 5d 2ac j.2b dash j.b j.b 2c j.214b [2c] 214214c (5c 2c 214c) j.214a 214214b 28d 5ac 214214b
    -If you start this combo with j.b you must instead follow the j.2b with dash into jump 2c j.a j.214a [2c]
    1:33 2a 5b 2ab 8c bd j.2b j.bb 2c 214b [2c] 214214c (5c 2c 214c) j.214a backdash 214214b C28d 5ac 214214b
    1:57 j.b 5aa 5b 2b superjump j.bb 2c j.214b [2c] 214214c (5c 2c 214c) j.214a backdash 214214b 28d 5ac 214214b
    2:21 j.b 2a 5b 5c 2ab [5c] 2b j.2b jbb 2c j.214b [2c] 214214c (5c 2c 214c) j.214a backdash 214214b C28d 5ac 214214b
    2:46 fatal 5c 5aaa 2ac j.2b dash superjump j.a j.214b 214214c (8c 5c) j.a j.b [8c] j.214b [5c] 214214b C28d 5ac 214214b
    3:12 fatal 214c/d 2ac j.2b wallbounce j.b j.214a 8c j.214b 214214c (8c 5c) j.a j.b [8c] j.214b [5c] 214214b C28d 5ac 214214b
    3:36 fatal 2c 214b 8c j.214b 214214c (8c 5c) 5aa [8c] j.214b [5c] 214214b C28d 5ac 214214b
    -I made another video showcasing better 2c fatal combos. It is quite easy to get over 4k damage without using resources. Link here.

    4:01 Blockstring 2b 2c j.214a OMC 2a [2c] 214214c (C28c) 214b 214214b
    -This confirm is burst safe after 2c connects. With proper timing 2b will combo into j.214a anyways if the opponent doesn't block 2b. Next combo shows overhead hit still connects.
    4:27 Blockstring 2b j.214a 2OMC 2a 5b 2ab [2c] 214214c (5c 2c 214c) 214b 214214b
    -Hold down 2 during one more cancel. This will input 2c at the same time. If 2b is not blocked then j.214a does combo into 214214c (8c 5c) j.a j.b [8c] j.214b [5c]. Next combo shows overhead hit still connects.
    5:35 j.b 2a 5b 2ab 236ab dash 2b superjump j.a 214a 8c superjump j.ac(airturn) j.b 214a 236c jump toward opponent and backdash 5b
    5:53 Same combo but 2b must be omitted if 2a was the starter.
    -Remember your inputs are reversed during airturn. If 236c is not inputted soon enough, the opponent can jump before the lazer oki begins. Set the training dummy to jump to make sure the oki is airtight. It is also possible to use 236d instead of 236c. This requires 236d to be inputted before j.b, as well superjumping earlier and delaying j.b. While using 236d is stronger oki, I find it much more difficult to make the oki airtight.
    -It is difficult to perform this hard knockdown on Kanji due to his hurtbox stretching in hitstun, but it is possible if you put more space between Shabrys and Kanji before superjumping.
    The rest are some examples of lazer oki crossups.
    Feel free to ask questions if I forgot something.
    Meant to upload this earlier but here it is.
    Forgive sound and video quality. Those are not my forte.

    Small tip for the combo at 0:22 - I find that I have more success with it when I do IAD > (slight delay) j.BB as opposed to (slight delay) IAD > j.A > j.2B. This also removes the need for the roll as well.

      Nearly all P4AU2 1.1 combos still work, so definitely check out the older resources out there.

      Definitely check out bite loops, too. I didn't include them here since they aren't new to 2.0, but they're a very powerful tool.

    Damn how did I miss this, thanks for the Shadow Labrys content!
    If you don't mind me asking: From your description I gather that most of the stuff you show is about experimenting with the changes in 2.5, and not about being "best" or "most optimal". Still, I'd like to know which of these combos and mixup you consider particularly good. Like, in a tournament, which of these would you use to tryhard your way to victory?

      When this version came out, I was especially concerned with being able to cash out damage, since I immediately noticed several routes to cash out didn't work in this version. So I think knowing how to cash out off of any (or most) starters will always be useful, which is why I showed so many double ax cashouts.
      As for the mixups, I wouldn't call any of them particularly amazing. They're the kinds of mixups that might work once on a good player, but not something that can be spammed like her corner laser oki or bite loops.
      The first combo had great corner carry due to asterius' punch wallbounce midscreen. That one is very useful to setting up into the aforementioned oki.

    do you play on an arcade stick? I've been trying to learn her for a bit now on my ps4 controller and it seems like it'd be easier on one, or what I'm trying to ask, do you think it would be easier to learn her on an arcade stick? btw you the goat fr

      If you have an arcade stick, then that's usually the way to go for most fighting games

      I actually play on a playstation 3 controller (I think the d-pad is more comfortable). Shabrys is definitely playable on pad, but make sure to map the bumpers/shoulder buttons. I map grab, burst, omc, and roll/air turn to those. Its good to learn the relationship that asterius has to mapped buttons versus pressing 2 manually.
      Edit: another big thing is make sure that if you remap the A B C D buttons, that combos involving asterius are still comfortable. Some might be akward to perform if you have to stretch across square and circle for example. Mapping a shoulder button to C or D can also be a good solution if youre willing to learn that layout.

      @@TheYambino yeah, in the meantime I've been getting the hang of her. I found that using the blazblue abcd layout makes her combos much easier, with aot on r1 and throw on r2, mostly to ex moves. and thank you, this guide and the notations are hard to come by these days and you definitely pulled through

    for the air turn guillotine stuff sometimes i either get the third hit so no knockdown or they get stuck in the 8C and dont even get dragged to the ground

    • @TheYambino
      @TheYambino  Рік тому

      A few things are at work here. When you first launch the opponent in the air, make sure you are pretty close to them when you drag them to the ground into the 8c. This will set your positioning up for the next drag down. Once you land, buffer a short dash forward as soon as shabrys is actionable. Wait for her to stop slightly before jumping into the airturn. If you did this part right, your positioning should be perfect for the drag down.
      Next is getting the muscle memory down to perform the airturn jB 214A timing, which really just takes practice. But the airturn timing won't work consistently if your positioning from earlier was off to begin with.

    Any advice to cancel de 2c into titanomachia?

    • @TheYambino
      @TheYambino  3 місяці тому

      You cannot buffer titanomachia before 2C. It will always give you 214C instead. So it really comes down to buffering 236236 right before 2C comes out and press C as soon as the opponent is struck. The earlier titano come out the better

  • @asphyxia-end

    I can not for life of me get 28cd to land after.the super consistently

    • @TheYambino
      @TheYambino  Рік тому

      The timing depends on which Axe super was used. For the A axe super, you have to command asterius before the opponent is launched. For B axe super, command asterius right after Shabrys gets pushed back. For the crossup B axe with 28CD, command asterius as soon as he is actionable (after he emerges from the ground and sets his head back).
