Can you imagine a Persona Ultimax with the smash bros ultimate’s “Everyone’s here” treatment? Where it brings every Persona user (good, bad) P1 through P5R. That’ll be amazing
That’d be epic. Make Tetsuya from EP instant kill be him ending the world with his persona since that’s what was said would happen if his friends remembered their past life iIRC
Even better, add If... to the mix so we can get Tamaki Uchida and Akira in this game. Give Tamaki a party of demons, and replace the Cards with the little demon icon, and you'll really steal my heart
i first got interested in rise because she has a move that just makes this a rythm game for a bit now that i actually know what the rest of her kit does im even more excited *ive been staring at "coming 16 Mar, 2022" for a couple hours now*
that's exactly why i play her but i learned shes a zoner who eventually goes in, which is my goat playstyle for anime fighters. i play teddie a similar way
I mostly played Narukami cause he was so easy back in the day but this time I'm gonna get really sweaty about Adachi. I watched some pro play, and he has my favorite play style in fighting games: Pavlov's offense, a character who is built around using tools to punish sloppy play to condition the opponent into either getting progressively more angry and more sloppy, or overly cautious and defensive so you can get away with stuff you shouldn't. Something about using human error and psychological pressure is so addictive, and he has a whole tool box relying on that aspect of fighting games is so sweet. Plus getting away with things you shouldn't is fun.
Yoskuke losing glide without getting anything in return seems like a really harsh nerf. He does very little damage, and now has a much harder time opening the opponent up.
When I played BBTAG the Persona characters were some of the most interesting to me, and I had never played a Persona game. Glad I can finally try them out in this game. I just picked P4AU the other day on Steam. Aegis and Mitsuru are the characters I like so far.
So glad you made a new video for 2.0. I watched the old one in preparation for this game but as someone who didn't play the original it was very difficult for me to understand some of the unique aspects of this game without being able to put hands on it (things like how the SP system worked, Persona breaks, Awakenings, Instakills, etc). This video is MUCH more beginner friendly, and is especially so now that I AM much more familiar with these mechanics as I can now play the game. Cheers
I can’t wait to play this game I just bought this and goin to play it after work! Feels like I’ve been waiting an eternity for it to come out when I first saw a trailer for it haha. Very good video as well💪💪
Careful the game is very technical and complicated at first. Something alot of reviews don't mention. You also can't map dash or air dash to a single button like Strive.
I’m going to main Yukiko. She’s the ultimate waifu and i love fire. Reds also my favorite color. I’m really hoping for a persona 5 arena game though so I can main Joker and Ann.
I am genuinely pumped for some rollback on this game. Played the fuck out of P4A--first anime fighter I ever got into (started with UMVC3) and loved it.
Yeah in 1.0 it used to do 80% damage, but now it got buffed to 90%. Individual damage is still worse then normal version, but the gap is much less noticeable. In 1.0 shadow health used to be a flat 2k increase across the board, but now it’s only 1k [Kanji/Akihiko only gets 500 specifically] Shadows no longer has meter carryover like they did in 1.0 Shadows now has burst that can be used as shadow fury resource. This is the big change that makes Shadows more viable because they have a defensive option they lacked before, unburstable combo that fixed Shadow Fury being weak before to go along with Awakening supers not needing awakening + reduced meter cost in Shadow fury ,
I kinda wanted to see if Yukiko had any QoL changes as someone who only played the game casually but hey the fans being more frequent is a nice change. Wasn't expecting much positive about her to be said.
I've been seeing your videos ever since this game got announced. I'll subscribe just because the amount of info you gave on this game. Have a good one!
In yall’s eyes, how are shadow characters balanced compared to their normal counterparts? I hear stuff like you should only ever pick shadows in 2.0 but I can imagine that’s exaggerated.
General consensus from top tiers and the Discord is that most Shadows are still "Pick and win" like Chie, a few are better than 1.0 like Yukiko and Kanji who can do some nutty stuff if you give them room to breathe, but yes it is a bit exaggerated. It's still pretty much Shadow Chie/Yu/Mitsuru/Sometimes Naoto running amok, just that a few others can be used and not be a troll pick.
Shadow Mitsuru is unbelievably disgusting. As you can see in the video, she gets 7k off of normal hit 5A midscreen. The others are cheap, but I wouldn't say they dominate the game. We'll see what happens though
It is exaggerated. Shadows are definitely much more viable now as they were largely gimmick status in 1.0, but you can still do fine with their normal counterparts. Some normal counterparts are better then the shadow counterparts still. Not to mention there are several good characters that don’t have a shadow mode like Minazuki
Shadows are generally better than their normal variants, the difference isnt incredibly significant but it's still notable, it does vary a bit from character to character, and there are a lot of characters without shadow variants that are still quite good. Overall the character viability is more even across the entire cast than it was in 1.1 but it is definitely offensively skewed with shadows being a bit better overall.
Originally. I was planning on maining Teddie or Akihiko since they were my mains back in BBTAG. But for some reason, Junpei really caught my interest. Not even big into baseball or the goofy character aesthetic. Maybe because I hear he's relatively low tier, and I have a soft spot for low tier characters.

I remember playing Ultimax a long time ago, like ps3 days. I mained shadow labrys,(ariadne) and even though she is regarded as the worst character, it made winning all the sweeter.
Sho Minazuki chads rise up How does Yukiko's fire level mech work? Just hit more fire attacks and the level goes up, which makes them deal more damage? 10:02 The game plan seems beary similar to Faust's
More just a character overview, minus the 'how to choose your main' part. Didn't really say why to pick anyone, and even the overview part is questionable with how much you just rushed over so much of the cast, including, inexplicably, a lot of the ones with mechanics that need more explaining (barely explained red axe, barely explained any of aegis resources, completely skipped over junpei's ''very basic example'' and didnt even show that clean hits are based off bat at all, didn't mention adachi and shadow labrys completely lack shadow versions despite noting both have very strong awakening supers), etc. Some characters are really detailed overviews with notes on how they got their issues fixed in 2.0 or nerfed, most of them are just 'here are some good moves also they hit at x range', a lot of them are just very lacking. Like is Labrys buffed? I don't know, didn't say. I know yukiko was. It did say. Didn't touch on shadow characters at all, either. Also confused on calling kanji 'one of the main grapplers'. He's the only grappler. Everyone else is a zoner or a rushdown with like 1 or 2 grabs, but their main gameplan isn't grappling.

The only real way to pick your char is go play persona 3 and persona 4 and the storymodes for both arena games then decide.
I remember playing Ultimax a long time ago, like ps3 days. I mained shadow labrys,(ariadne) and even though she is regarded as the worst character, it made winning all the sweeter.
I hope there are tutorials on the way for this game. I want to try ken and rise but they sound like they have more going on than a normal character.
There’s a lesson mode that really goes in depth
Ken is deceptively simple in my opinion. When I compare him to playing Carl or Zato it feels super easy.
i think I'll go with yosuke. love being speedy in fighters
Sho Minazuki chads rise up
How does Yukiko's fire level mech work? Just hit more fire attacks and the level goes up, which makes them deal more damage?
10:02 The game plan seems beary similar to Faust's
We've got rollback now! Interested in LK's thoughts.
I lowkey chose kanji cause I like his character!!
I like playing yukari, ken, Margaret and rise
I can't wait to bring live on stage to the masses
Labrys, Yu, Adachi, or Sho -dont pick mitsuru, she's meta- kek. They're the only ones that matter, now take your pick boyz
A quick 236C into 6A is a good way to get in quickly with akihiko but it's not very safe on block
A NEW ONEEE YESSS
Everyone else is a zoner or a rushdown with like 1 or 2 grabs, but their main gameplan isn't grappling.
woah, that stuff about Persona startup invuln and post-jump airblock delay sounds REALLY crucial 😳
did they add big new system changes? (are the changes listed somewhere?)
welp that was fast
