Great piece of history, accurate or not. You said it was inherently inaccurate and I see you're right, the key holing is kind of a bummer but she still brought a smile to your face and for good reason.
The 405 grain is shorter than the 500 grain and I’ve yet to shoot those out of it. There is a good chance the barrel is closer to .46, which apparently was a coming thing back then.
Hello Sir, and thank you for showcasing your rare S.C. rolling block. Very cool !
Thank you Sir!! I hope that you enjoyed watching it!
@@BulletsandButtons I did, and it's refreshing to see an authentic one. Unfortunately, before I knew better, I purchased a fake one. Regards....Doc
Oh no! This one came from a large collection in northern Alabama. I got it at a price I could not pass up!

Thanks Brad!!
I had one of those in original caliber. Mine was 50 carbine not 50-70. Seems there were several variations.

A great piece of history indeed!!! Thanks for commenting!!!
I have one in 50-45 and has an anchor on the receiver ring
That’s awesome! I’m sure there was a vast plethora of calibers used back then!!
Try shooting bullet that are not so long to prevent the keyholes.
