With the latest MacOS update, It takes just a few steps to download the Netflix app on MacBook compared to downloading any other application from the app store on Mac. Unfortunately, the Netflix App isn't in the app store but this tutorial will showcase step-by-step how to download Netflix App on Mac in 2023. This method is a workaround and will work with any kind of device with MacOS, whether it's the MacBook Air M2,, MacBook Pro M3, Mac Mini, or iMac.
This requires MacOS Sonoma or later.

P.S. Currently if you use this method Safari extensions will not work.
In order for them to work you can use the legacy way of installing apps like this → ua-cam.com/video/-2DZhl8_PAQ/v-deo.html
Or install web apps with Google Chrome: go to a website that you want to install as a web app on the Google Chrome browser → click the three dot menu (top right) → install [website name]. The website will then be installed as an app.
If you don't see the "install [website name]" option go to the three dot menu again → more tools → create shortcut → select "open as window" → press "create". Then go into into a folder called "Chrome apps" on your Mac. It should be inside your Macintosh HD/users/yourname/Applications folder. And then you can drag that web app into your dock.
Thank you for your video but can you guys stop advertising something which is NOT what your title describe? This is NOT the Netflix app, this is just the webapps that exist on Chrome browsers for years now! Mac users are looking for the iOS App or similar to allow dowloading movies offline when travelling. Not a stupid webapp. Thank you

You don't actually have to restart or killall to change the icon, just quit (cmd+Q) whatever app you changed the icon for, open it again and it'll be changed :D

About the icon: I’d rather change it within the preferences menu in the Web App. Changing via File Info will not change the icon when the window is in Stage Manager on the side

or you can just remove the webapp from the dock, close the webapp, start it again, and viola! the app icon will now be updated

It works just like it would in your browser. You shouldn't have to log in the next time you open it.

Too bad this does nothing for the fact that you can't download anything. I switched to Mac this last year and can't count the number of times I've regretted it. Different doesn't necessarily mean better and this is a prime example.
Blame Netflix. They have an option in their dev kit to let Apple automatically port the iPad app to Mac and they choose not to.
shoot that's what I was hoping for, to watch downloads offline in flights, le sigh. There is just zero way to do this legally and safely (airplay doesn't work, screen mirror doesn't work, no native app, can't download ios app on mac anymore) SUCKS

I'm using the Keychron M3 mouse amzn.to/3RqeXew and I think it's pretty good. It has Bluetooth and a wireless dongle which is nice. But do your research before buying it since it's just a "vanilla" mouse experience. If you want something more specific with Mac gestures, I'd say go with the Apple magic mouse. @@FoodTaste_Explorer

In the get info menu, click on the icon and press delete on your keyboard
Your title is misleading. This does not download the Netflix app, and you know that. It's just a shortcut. Thumbs down.
