You'll understand why he's the only one who's read it till the end if u read the novel
Also you'll understand why he is ugly too
I mean art imitates life life imitates art the amount of people who have actually read the novel to the end is very small just like in the story
I still goosebumb by the eding lol
STOP THIS. I AM SOBBING AGAIN
@@murata.. oh look!, 51/49
This series doesn't do random, and things like "he's the only reader" or "everyone think he is ugly" have an explanation down the road.
Take the "he's ugly" part for example, one character get asked what Dokja looked like, and they answered off-handedly that "his face is kinda blurry" and waved it off as him being bland and unmemorable. But anyone that read a decent story knew this is a context clue.
OVR has translations of the original Webnovel floating around, with a published series by Sing Shong, though I do not know how much of the Webnovel the book series has covered so far.. The manhwa is free up to chapter 206 on Webtoons, roughly 1/3 of the webnovel
The Manhwa has covered around 180-190/551 chapters of the Web Novel, it's actually slower then the Novel somehow, but a great adaptation none the less.
and theres other sites with more chapters than webtoons released (cough cough flamecomics) with 214 free chapters, webtoons is just for reading it on yt
@@Nah_I-ll_Win Yes, its really detailed.
WE'RE ALL LIVING IN URIEL'S FANFICTION
Nah, I bet its the abyss dragon's fanfiction
Honestly, best side character in all of fiction
So, on the topic of him being the only reader, Gigguk says it's due to the length, but it's actually more than that. In universe, someone actually started plagiarizing the OG work early on in it's production. The plagiarism ended up becoming more popular than the OG, which led people to spread propaganda that the OG was the ACTUAL plagiarism, and so the OG lost the rest of it's readers aside from Dokja due to that.
That Plagiarism is what those cults are built off of.
In other words, it kinda got 50 Shades of Grey'd.😂
*dry heaves*
My pookie patootie favorite girl did not plagiarize shit! This is slander against best girl! (Jk if it's not obvious)
uhhh, no, the first cult was based on the OG (Unless it was revealed to have not been somewhere past half-way through the LN.)
Been awhile, but I believe plagiarism is only part of the reason, as later on the question of why Dokja is the only reader or the identity of the writer resurfaced.
50? heh... 49% 51%
This is literally peak fiction the ending is life changing ngl
As others have said, the webnovel has been finished a long time ago now, there recent ones are the side stories for the light novel.
It's not just glazing when we say that it is amazing, the series has been first for three years in munpia which is like the prime novel site for KR back then. It's successful both in sales and impact on the manhwa culture as well. Even before the manhwa started, there's already a signed conract for a live action adaptation starred by some of Korea's most famous. They recently announced that filming has been done so we can expect release by 2025.
My apologies since it's long, but it's rewarding to have something we love finally spread it's wings for broader horizons
the main story is already finished a long time ago! they just started updating the extras^^
also yeah if you dig long enough you can get the complete translation of the main story in english!
18:42 weeeellllll there _is_ a constellation called "The Oldest Dream" take that as you will
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
"Most Ancient Dream"
"Demon King of Salvation"
I like these constellations XD
@@Uhgothopt dude Fr
When they appeared in the story I immediately loved them
@@lusse2 if you think practically there like same person just different memories or knowledge different
27:18 The actual thing had finished a long time ago, the recent updated "5 days ago" the korean website mentioned is for the side story (which can be considered a sequel if you want include it in the main story, it being called the "side story" is plot reason that I don't want to say anything about it)
29:14 If you're fine with epub, in the unofficial omniscient Reader viewpoint reddit they have an epub version that you can download (about -> the story list if you on pc, see more -> about if on mobile) tho keep in mind the manhwa is adapted from a revised ver of orv (which is different from the webnovel) so there's different changes here and there, it's only small changes though
Thanks for not spoiling it, then. 😁
And I'll check out the epub (not sure about that format, but it's at least flworth looking into).
Orv is so peak. I'm currently rereading the novel becasue I am mentally ill and I still love it just as much. The webcomic is currently apporcahing a really big part in the plot and I'm very excited.
I'm also excited
Man you need to read it on the channel.
I second this.
as the novel reader i say it's peak fiction because i never read novel except for this one and it's that good and it's just keep getting better and better and the ending is majestic
Inversion of a trope is just called an inverted trope.
Truly mind-blowing
@@RangeCMYK Well.... he asked.
The thing with extremely long names is more a manga thing, manhua and manwha usually don't have that.
Good to know. I'm glad that tred isn' spreading too far yet.
And a web-/lightnovel thing: "The Police Called Me For The? Filing Revealing? Me A Master"
Also Manhwa/s: Return of.....
😂😂😂
I'd really recommend the novel, its impeccable! So perfectly made and well crafted. The epub fan translation can be a bit rough at points, but it really never disappoints! There is an official English translation coming out but tbh other than the announcement there really hasn't been any news for a while so no solid date. Its the best novel I've ever read. It gets better on every re-read and pretty much every person I've seen that has finished has agreed that It's pretty life changing. The couple that wrote it posted it in two years, but it took them seven to write and It shows.
Can't believe bro almost Alt + F4'd
I wanna say this while I can, trust me Omniscient Readers Viewpoint is top tier, my number one Manwha or Korean-Novel, it is very very well written
The reason why he was the only reading the novel is not because the novel is bad
is because is one of those novels who are looooong to explain something
the mc himself said that one meal was descripted in 3 chapters of the novels
the novel was an ultra dense pile or words
so at least you really like the novel is very weird that you are gonna read that
So its bad
I have been watching people read this with sound effects and my god, feels so good rereading a story I barely even started on for this. I might be more hype for this story than most of my favorite anime. It gives me vibes from Accel World, one of my favorite anime/light novels ever of being able to delve deep into characters and the audience seeing cheeky interactions, separation of morality debates all for the sake of the best chance of survival, getting people rejuvenated into their own self worth even when you are very overpowered and not leaving anyone in the dust. God… this might be what I need to read now in my late 20s to figure out what am I to confront my own secluded reality with.
There is a RWBY fanfiction about a version of Jaune that is a regressor, everytime he dies he is sent back to some random point in his past, but always before his first day in Beacon. He get to keep his memories, but nothing else.
In the first Chapter this Jaune had already over 10000 loops and is very exhausted.
Its titled "Not this Time Fate" its complete and a good read.
Might check that out. 🤔👍
@@Airierthe same author also have other good fics too, they made Adam in one fic as the main character and it was actually really good.
If you're interested in a humor fic there's Beacon Civil War where before the festival Ozpin has the students along with the other school students compete in a war game where it is boys vs girls.
Ah yes, literally the best RWBY Fanfic Author on the Internet: Couer Al'Aran
Oh yeah I remember reading that. Don't think I finished it tho.
@@unkownbeing5420 I really enjoy Beacon Civil War, especially since it helps reinforce "Ren I see as the brother I never had" "And I you".
I don't know why, I really would like to see the relationship implied in that mostly comedic exchange explored more seriously. Jaune and Ren being bros.
8:00 I'm sorry, but it's physically hard to shut up about my interests, i know it's obnoxious
Your honor I have autism this is literally my life
do you know in the really start of the webtoon, it show the sentence of the novel ending kim dokja read. the sentence is like "There are three ways to survive in the ruined world. I have forgotten some part, but one thing is certain, YOU who are reading this WILL SURVIVE" and Dokja said "it's like story written for me and only me."
once you finish the novel and read it again from the beginning, you will realize how deep that sentence meaning and maybe can make you questioned about your existance in this world
ORV IS PEAK. The story is soooo good. It is very immersive and draws you in on another level.
I... I think you may have mixed up some terms around the 10:30 mark. Because for one... as annoyingly floaty as that description is, it's firmly written in past tense. And "you did this" is second person, past tense.
Yup. That's on me. Got it all mixed around.
There is a few English translated versions of the novel, but they aren't official they're translated by fans so there may be a few things that aren't translated properly. Pretty sure there's two formats (if you download them) PDF or epub 😅
13:20 Guy is a Darksouls player
ORV is really good, i got hooked into the webtoon back in the first 10 chapters when it first released and bit the bullet and read the whole novel.
there are some downs but overall i'd say it is great.
one thing it did very well is keeping plot twists coming consistently up until the very end, always gripping the reader to see what happens next.
but regardless i'd recommend reading the webtoon over the novel, some parts that felt like a slog in the novel i didn't even notice in the webtoon because they got shortened or condensed.
unfortunately, there's no official publication of the webnovel in English yet, but there are machine translations and fan translation floating around.
also the reason why you saw it was updated a few days before this video is because the original story IS OVER at chapter 551. however, there is a side story that continues the story that's been running for about 180 chapters or so now. :D;;;
DEFINITELY WORTH THE READ. starting with the webtoon is real good because the webtoon/manhwa follows the webnovel pretty closely!
yes, there is an english version, its on webtoon, the chapters come out weekly but because of the translations its 10 chapter late
but if you want to read all the chapters and the translations came out as soon as new chapter is out, than google is your friend
How to describe ORV.... there's nothing to really compare it to that I've come across and I'm glad the iceberg pic convinced you. There are currently only fan translations of the finished Light Novel, but the translation I will warn you is a bit rough (errors, typos, lack of localization etc) and you'll get most enjoyment if you're somewhat familiar with Korean culture. The Webtoon is easier to read and gorgeous. (Find the fan translation to put on your e-reader from the ORV subreddit)
Since you don't watch Trope Talk in order anyway, they did one on the "All A Dream"
I need to check that one out, then
😮
There exist out there webnovels with 13000 chapters. Or more.
3000 is still really long.
There's an English webcomic called _Sluggy Freelance,_ that's been 5 days a week since 1997 (published books too) and the insane continuity and plot progression is staggering, especially when they have concurrent arcs that last months to years. It starts of looking like a newsprint gag strip, then the weight of what some of the characters go through breaks you. Not even One-Piece has introduced as many seemly silly ideas, only to make they harrowingly serious.
Kim dokja name have 2 meaning in korean, 1 only child and 2 reader, yeah you can call him kim reader and kim dokja is the only child in his familly and he is a reader so that why he have skill like reading fast, omniscient reader viepoint, bookmark and the fourth wall.
So little bit of context for the novel, the main story consisting of 500+ chapters is done but the authors are still writing "side story". I put it in quotation marks because it's just straight up a sequel at this point with well over 200 chapters with more still being wrote
😮
Honestly, I really need to look into getting a copy. At least of the first bit. 😁
@@Airier you might as well just get a translation online or read the webtoon (don't worry, the webtoon is a 1:1 adaptation to the novel) cause there's no official book translation in English
As a only webtoon reader (for now) I can’t wait to see what comes next especially because I’ve seen so many novel readers (not only ORV fans) agree that ORV has one of the best ending ever written
ORV is popular enough you can probably find it fully translated on most major light novel websites, especially since it has been completed for a few years already and has been reuploaded all over the internet.
Literally one of the big three of webnovels people call this peak for a reason
Orv story have 3 part, main story - the epilog - the side story. Every part is still dokja (reader) story yet its not the same person or fragment and the side story is the continuation of the epilog.
Dokja name is mean only child or reader and dokja is both.
Seriously? All the ones i have found have shorts and concise names:
Mage and Demon Queen.
Room of Swords.
Boyfriend of the dead.
Good day to be a dog.
Lore Olympus.
Tower of God.
God of Higschool.
Castle swimers.
Etc...
All great historys i recomend to anyone, the second one is a great suspense and mystery, the first, third, fourt, fifht and eigth have romance as one of their main focus but nowere near the only things there is to them, They are all very varied and diferent from one another and the sixth and seventh are more action oriented, if i we're to compare them to manga i would Say that God of Higschool is kind of dragon ball Z While tower of God is more like Naruto but whitout pulling an out of nowere "it was aliens all along" bu****it(as far as I'm aware, haven't really finish it, so who knows)
OMG you have some rlly good recs here that i'm familiar with.🤩🤩
What makes this video better is the day I caught up to it he released this video
The whole him writing his own story thing is definitely accurate
13:22 no not a re:zero trope, regression is having a second chance in life and going back on a certain period of your life, it's the same with Subaru but, Subaru has checkpoints, Joon-hyuk has to go back to the beginning, Subaru's return by death is as you said, a time loop and has random checkpoints, while Joon-hyuk returns in a specific date and time
5:00 - very much a possibility, funnily enough. Example: Royal Road. There's 15k+ fics and original novels there, top 100 titles have cemented and calcified their spots decades ago do to how rating system works; search and tag functions are horrendous and don't work as they should; while "recently updated" tab is a joke since someone uploads something pretty much every minute in real time which leads to everything being in constant state of self-burial by an avalanche of random chapters site-wise. So it's not that rare to have a novel with 200+ chapters that barely has over a dozen readers because they were the only ones who got to notice and were fast enough to bookmark it.
My bro this manhwa is peak i seggust to check pick me up infinite gacha as well ik that the name is dumb as hell but its good as well
Alt +F4 is how you close out of a video game window.
So "Alt +F4 my life" is how one would say they're going to... um...
Moxxie: "Commit die."
Thank you, Moxxie.
7:55 so TruE
Goddammit...
I have been avoiding reading this one for years and you are not going to make me read it now.
If they make an anination for it however...
I love this novel and manhwa adaptation with all my heart!! Glad to to see it getting more love.
5:34 not really something I can say as unrealistic, keep in mind this is Korean, which means what Dokja is reading is also Korean, usually when there is something shtty but is going for long, it gets attention regardless of how good or bad it is, but that's only because it's available on english, which means that what Dokja was reading probably didn't get an english translation, and trust me, there is a lot of hidden stuff on the internet, specially the novel side, those tend to get more neglected because people want to read comics more than novels now, so totally not unrealistic
So, as I understand it, a lot of what we tend to think of as manhwa and KLN is kind of biased from the major available source being the equivalent of UA-cam for self publishing and even if you have an actual original unlazy idea, you still have to play the trending algorithm and SEO.
Hence the titles that read like video tags and the isekais that wouldn't be if you remove the 1st 2 pages.
The squid touches another wall
I love that this novel get more attention
By the constellations I think he got it
Take a shot every time he pauses. You'll be trashed halfway through the video lol
If you were to read and complete the novel(its translated, just search it up it will come), you will develop a love/hate relation ship with the numbers: 49% and 51%.
Also the ugly squid will give you the same feeling.
No, no… zeus was “and then a god became Horney and fucked with shit”…
man the reason why he's only reader will be explained in the future/ U can still read in a light novel
I would really recommend "worth the candle" by Alexander Wales web novel. It does this kind of meta really well. Also to hook you in a bit, actual cannibal Shia la beuf is a character that appears and is plot relevant on several occasions.
No people have read the og novel but nobody has read the whole story to the end
Idk about this trope but i do love female lead stories usualy set in a otome game as the "vilalines" rebirth they make for some of the funniest or intresting stories for me
Don't underestimate korean novels, some of them can really go on till thousands of chapters, so the novel Kim Dokja was reading TWSA that has over 3149 chapters is not that special or intriguing enough for people to check it.
I'm glad you know this masterpiece. It's really good. It gave me a lot of touching and understanding. I've reread the novel for the tenth time! More to come later I guess!❤
As someone who's read the webnovel and currently re experiencing it with the manwha, I highly recommend ORV! In other words...
[the constellation "fan of 'demon-like judge of fire'" has sponsored you 1 like]
Sounds pretty Khorne-y to me.
😎
(Couldn't resist 😁).
@@Airier You wouldn't want to face her wrath, that is for sure 😁 But seriously, it is a great webnovel/manwha! I promise to stop preaching now
I need to catch up on omniscient readers viewpoint
i rememeber getting up to chapter 1400+ of a novel 300o is very plausable too lol
Please I beg you read the manhwa it’s so good. If anything atleast read the first chapter cause that’s all you need to realize that the manhwa is amazing
@aerier this light novel was completed a few years ago. I managed to catch up and followed the novel to its completion. You will not regret reading this. Enjoy
My fav fiction
.
1) Reverend Insanity
2) Lord of the mysteries
3) Omniscient Readers Viewpoint
i really hope you read the webtoon on this channel, would love to see your reaction to it!
It's good very good.
That Death game one that’s at 1:57 is actually pretty good. It isn’t a death game manhua but a psychological thriller type that teaches the value of life .
I recommend you read it
You should start with the manhwa until you catch up to the most recent chapters and then switch over to the novel (highly recommend the scanlations translation, it is complemented by important missing pieces from the novel at the end of each chapter). I promise you will not regret reading this novel, it is truly life changing media
5:43 as unrealistic as it sound but “This story is for just that one reader.” 🥹💔
There are english translation on web novel reader the names are a bit off but if you read the manwha for a bit to see the names you can replace them when you read a phonetic spelling as opposed to the right spelling its a great read ive read it 3times so far going to start my 4th pretty soon
I honestly would love if you would do shust a little read of the first chapters of it on the channel ! [Its on webtoon, the app] ❤
Maybe? Depending on any copyright issues, it does sound fun. 🤔
One thing i don't like about the power system is the author can just came up with stupid thing like dokja gains power/story by talking to a literal rock what it does is making his presence the same as pebble if he so desires the skill / story is called "pebble and i"
Meanwhile the best light novel out there LOTM power system is basically. You gain powers by drinking drugs there's 10 level of drugs lowest level 9 highest level 0 there's 13 different kind of drugs each named based on the tarot cards major arcana
Starting from level six you have to perform a ritual before drinking the drugs, if someone tries to immediately drink higher level drugs they will succumb to madness, one must fully digest the drugs by acting according to the drugs name (if someone drink the clown potion they have to act like a clown i.e have to perform tricks and smiles in front of fate)so that both their body and mind prepared to gain more powers. someone can't drink two different drugs of the same level but they can changes their class at level 3 by drinking a neighbouring classes drugs but they can only drink drugs that are a level higher not another level 3 drugs
I am interested in seeing you read it in this channel! Maybe the Manhwa? :D
18:30 to 18:50
I am not going to say anything so as to not spoil it.
You have no idea how close you are
😮🤔
SO tempting to ask for more info, but that way leads to spoilers. 😅
airier pleas you HAVE TO READ THIS MANWA IT SOO GOOD
Fyi they already finish shooting for the live action omniscient reader a fiew day ago, it will be air in 2025
Please make videos or streams of you reading this webtoon and/or the novel. Or at least videos about your thoughts about batches of chapters.
Always fun seeing people complain about how long One Piece is... I'm a big fan of Hajime no Ippo, which has more than 1500 chapters... and counting. Admittedly it's a bit of an unfair comparison, a lot of later One Piece is extremely dense, while Ippo tends towards shorter action-based chapters, so it's probably a quicker read overall.
7:44 Hey now, don't tell me all those tidbits I gave you about Underverse and Xtale weren't interesting.
29:00 *cough* Anime Zone
Oh wait I skipped this video and just realised it's about ORV... Yeah I shouldn't have skipped it, I'm fixing this mistake right now :D
Also if you started reading it, what are your thoughts on it? :>
Kim Dokja like me fr
How do you feel about an LN/anime where after a levelling system is introduced, it's creator later confides to the MC:
_"Yeah, I just did it to make them think they're stronger than they are, so they die stupidly against strong foes._
_Can you believe they think the numbers going up makes them stronger?"_
That's over simplifying, but the series gained a cult following taking every lazy shortcut trope and putting time into them.
And as a plus, the MC is aggressively not a murder hobo, though that fact is starting to annoy a number of vocal people.
18:50 WTF WTF HOW 😢
Dokja was out here reading Xianxia stories before it was cool and got rewarded busted Gamer-like powers for it.
Side note: Don't read Xianxia. They're bad. Not even Isekai Trash bad where it's such a blatant dumpster fire that it loops around to being enjoyable, but JUST BAD.
Airier have you see Doktorapplejuce illya prisma part 2 your in it i watched it today
I'm pretty sure I've seen that one. Also I think it's been a while. 🤔
@@Airier I'm only able to find your reaction to part 1
Your commentary is spot on, however I feel like you want to predict what he is going to say, as in like every time he is going to say anything. Which unfortunately makes you pause way too much and also makes you miss information. I suggest let the paragraph end so you can talk after it and not miss anything Ps: not a rant just an observation for future reaction.
Oh, need to get back to omniscient viewpoint
"i consider a milion words short".... i mean duh... you referenced WORM of all things twice in your star wars v 40k reactions. Obviously you read lots of long things. I would probably be willing to bet you read lord of the mysteries and mother of learning as well.
I've been up, it's the first time I've heard of the last two. Might need to check them out. 🤔
@@Airier oh. then allow me the pleasure to give you a quick synopsis of both since i so happen to enjoy talking about them a lot.
Lord of the mysteries is a isekai story about a person transmigrated into a body of a empoverished history student that commited suecide after getting involved with the occult elements of his world. As a resoult of his supposed survival of that encounter he gets recruited by the nighthawks, essentially a mystical police/detective unit under the church of the evernight godess and has to learn many mysteries of the world he found himself in to fulfill his desire of returning home. All of it in a dark victorian esthetic with a smidgen of stimpunk and elements of lovecraftian mystycism. I could talk for hours about how world is so detailed author referenced historical housing prices in london or How plot is so well thought out that there are hints to secrets revealed in chapter 1000 in the very first arc, or how power system is one of the most interesting systems of power i have seen... but it would be redundant. you are either already interested or wont check it out anyway. the only problem is that first 20ish chapters have less then ideal translation, but it gets better after that.
The mother of learning on the other hand is a time loop story of a third third year magic academy student that due to some events joined the time looping individual in the middle of the loop. He has to figure out why the time loop exists, how it works, and more importantly, how to get out, all the while learning magic from both official, and less official sources, discover secrets about himself and his friends he never though of and become a better person for what the went through.... oh and stop a giant monster invasion organised by a impossibly powerful lich and a cult of ancient dead god that ravages the city he lives in near the end of every loop. What makes this time loop story special is how well defined the actual mechanics of the loop and magic system are. And the fact that protagonist isn't invonurable. his body is restored at the end of every loop but its almost instantly established that damage to his soul persists, and so do alteration mind magic does to his mind. so if he makes too big of a mistake and gets imprisoned by a powerful necromancer lets say.... The only downside to this book is that since the protagonists groth as a person is integral to the story, he can come off as a bit of a dick at first, but quickly improves and by the end became one of my all time favourites

I know I sound obnoxious but man you kill the jokes and punchlines by stopping the video do much 😂
I do like the time you take to explore all details though
Basic
so the problem is that the manwa keeps getting worse the longer it goes on. i have been reading something that is kind of close its called the skeleton soldier who failed to defend the dungeon
I think you pause too much. Literally every 2 seconds on average. You didn't use to do that I don't think.
