Only thing you left out were the food buff and how they interact with the others. Attack/Defense M, is the same effect as Demon/Armor drug; while Attack/Defense L, is the same as a Mega Demon/Armor Drug. So if you eat for L in either you won't need the Mega Drug of that type, unless you cart.
Omg thank you so much! I have been wondering about this for a long time and even asked about it in the last investigation. I'm so glad you made the video!
Arhen Dante Wrong At Monster Hunter World, they Stack. For Max Attack You can use : Attack Up L FOOD Skill Mega Demondrug Mightseed Demonpowder (mightpill) They all Stack!!!
I think helping players with an easy video on partBreaks and how to trigger flinches would be cool. Explaining how it generally effects item drops would also be useful. Most early players just kinda hack away without direction, so this might refine their play.
also how does the severing on tails work, if it is x ammount of cutting dmg or x ammount of any dmg + 1 cutting dmg at the end, because if it is the later the boomerang can be usefull to blunt weapons users so they can just strike it and then use the boomerang to cut
according to the japanese guides that gaijinhunter has been making videos about, part breaks are based on how many times you flinch the monster using damage to that part. For example, breaking a horn could require 3 flinches, each requiring 200 damage to that part. This effectively would mean you need to deal 600 damage to that part, if I understand it correctly. Some monsters (like the elder dragons) have other requirements, such as the final flinch needs to happen when the monster is
The adamant pill is literally one of the worst items in this game. Passive defense buffs are great but totally not worth it for only 20 sceonds unless you literally intend to get hit.
Soul of Cindert is right. There is some use for might pills if you have a trapped, paralyzed or sleeping monster and you want to give it a particularily nasty smack, for example a fully charged hit with the greatsword or a fully powered elemental burst hit with charge blade. You can plan to land an especially powerfull hit but taking a rare item like the adamant pill just in case you get hit within the next 20 seconds is pointless.
Darthplagueis13 In a Support SnS With Wide Range 5, it helps in the final stages of the fight when they go into Rage and aggro the heck out of everybody. Saved several Tempered Nergigante Runs with it. Especially when somebody is stunned and I cannot reach em.
Start quest, drink one mega nutrients, one nutrient, (mega) armorskin and (mega) demonbuff. Locate target and use both seeds before fight. Use powders only if you are playing with other hunters. I dont go always with mega variants since they are expensive and the real benefit (as stated in this video) is minimal.
Remember, if you have wide area,(except max level) powders deploy faster and further than seeds, so they are quicker to top off the party before an assault or escape. But this is at the cost of more crafting/mats.
I thought I read somewhere that food buffs don’t stack with the juices and drugs, just the seeds and pills? Or that it depended on whether you got small, medium or large food buffs. Can’t remember exactly.
Birdman all buffs in the game are part of buff groups. Drugs, Food, Horn Songs, Armor Buffs, etcetera are all in separate groups. These groups will all stack with each other, but multiple buffs from the same group override each other.
I need to get better at using buff items. I'm so jaded from previous titles...I would never have enough materials to make and sustain buff item usage...so my playstyle is all around never using them. Lol
Kenny Farren I'm with you there. It's difficult to remember to refresh buffs when you're not used to them. Since the demondrug and armorskin last until you faint, I strongly recommend you start trying to take those at the start of a quest, as even if you forget about your other buffs in the heat of the moment, those two drinks are consistent. It's definitely made a difference for me, even if the buff is small. :)
Not sure if it's worth a whole video but talking about how you can save inventories, shortcuts, armor sets and jewel placement and how everything work together (like the shortcut being linked to the inventory, or being able to do multiple armor sets with only a single decoration) could be helpful for the newcomers.
A huge thank you, I've started MWH in December 18, and I'm still going through your playlists to find help when I don't understand something. Your vids give me reasons to try this or this weapon and I think I'm getting better! This game has so many secrets, it's awesome to have these brilliant guides instead of having to read hundreds of clunky wikia pages with expert level in-game vocabulary. Thank you for your time (clocking the different effects for each pill/seed/powder must have been a drag), thanks for your dedication to the game, and the quality of your videos. A monstruous amount of respect to you. Love from France. EDIT: I realised very late that this wasn't Arekks' voice and accent, but my thanks go to all those who contribute(d) to these absolutely brilliant guides.
others have asked that and people have replied, even arekkz has as saying there isnt enough for a video and that its random on the monster your assigned to fight will be large or small and gold crown is the biggest/smallest possible and silver in second biggest/smallest
This is a great step for anyone trying to get more into monster hunter, kinda like how you only start caring about Pokémon when you get into the buffing moves
Fun tip when playing with a friend firing flares. Bring Palico with their instruments to gain buffs before your help arrives. It's a strategy we used grinding to 100 and works well.
another cool thing is that if you use maxed wide range you can share the full buff chain with ur group stack that with a HH atk/def XL song and you can give out some crazy buffs
You forgot mushroomancer Edit: Because you can stack Nitroshrooms and Parashrooms with drugs, seeds, and powder. And like drugs, they last until you cart.
One very big omission from here is the Attack/Defense buffs from the Felyne kitchen and how they interact with these buffs in this video. Haven't personally tested it, but in previous games the Attack and Defense from kitchen buffs did not stack with Demondrugs and Armorskins (and their mega variations). Certainly a talking point that needs to be mentioned in a video about attack/defense stacking.
Hey there Arekkz/Paradise, great vids as always. 2 ideas for new vids. 1.(probably most tedious) locations of Canteen ingredients. Ive seen streamers and youtubers still missing a decent chunk so this could help those to acheive the 6 stack buff in the Canteen. Probably a spreadsheet would be ideal. 2. Applying environmental damage, aka stones. Now yes i know Gaijin hunter this but its to support this channel and its free damage to fights. Example, i see NO ONE online that above the diablos pit in the sand, shooting a rock at the barnos/birds will screech diablos upward while pitfalling the monster. Just like the intro cutscene to diablos. Sorry for the essay comment, but clearly i support the channel :D
Idk if this is something you would want to make in the first place or if it's part something you've already made but a video going over the differences between Charge Blade and other weapons like Great Sword, Lance or Hammer would be great. You've probably already noticed this but allot of people believe that Charge Blade is better than every other weapon in every category. If you can clear up this some people might actually start trying out other weapons and find new ways to have fun on hunts, especially in a team. This isn't really a big deal, most people are going to use whatever they have the most fun with and in the end we're all still hunting monsters, but it may help some of the newer players gain some insight into how the weapon classes are supposed to work in solo play and in tandem with each other. Great content again btw, enjoying all the vids you guys make.
Probably the most helpful vid I've seen on mh, been playing since ps2 and portable and I always guessed on the duration on these buffs but never wanted to calculate the exact time. After 10 years...thank you very much!! (:
You said demon juice to still get ads you are so smart man! I was confused at first but then I understood. You’re vids are great and have helped me. Thank you
Another great vid. I personally still use a MM setup before I go on tempered investigations. Being able to switch inventory and equipment builds on the fly takes a bit of the micromanaging out of the equation. I just rotate the shrooms out when harvesting. I don't mind crafting and find it quite enjoyable. Trying to focus on getting platinum and after that, I will probably go back to straight crafting what I want and cart MM.
Absolutely awesome video so informative and concise! As far as new topics I'm still curious about where the elemental damage cap is and was wondering if that would be worth your time to make a video for. Whatever you decide to do it always seems to be really helpful thanks for all your hard work!
You should do investigations for each weapon type. Going over all the end upgrades for that weapon and suggestions for augments and their uses against what monsters. Investigation on Augments be nice too I'd like to know if I should go attack or affinity.
Hey Paradise! I have an idea for an investigation. I'm basically brand new to Monster Hunter, and I was wondering about the day/night cycle. Is this new to MHW? With that said, the video would explain the cycle and go over all (unless there is too much to cover in one video) of the changes that happen. AKA when it's dawn you can catch this and that endemic life, when it's dusk you can do this and that and the other thing ect... ect... I think you get my point. I'm hoping the cycle changes more things than just what endemic life is available! Cheers dude! I love this channel!
I think that's a great idea for a video. afaik latent power triggers after a certain amount of time or a certain amount of damage taken and bludgeoner boosts damage if you fight with green sharpness or lower and also removes the damage reduction that happens when you hit with the end or beginning of an attack while having yellow sharpness.
Megabakufun2 I only ask because of a cursory search, most of the information out is for the older games. And there's something's, like purple sharpness, that don't apply to world.
Arekkz Gaming Thanks for the reply dude. I'd love to see breakdowns like mushroommancer, benefits. And maybe what different levels of stackable skill like guard can do for you, urugaan set bonus. Basically anything that doesn't quote the numbers. Would be great. Love your advice man, got me past tempered kirin!
This was very informative and should help me out a lot. I wouldn't mind seeing a video on the powder items since I've noticed that you only need to be in the same area (eg area 6) for the effects to apply to everyone, though I'm not sure if it's diminished, or if you are next to each other but in different areas (eg on the border of areas next to each other) to get the effects or not at all.
Using a pill exclusively when waking a monster feels like never at all. Another good time to snort powder or do pills is when someone else mounts or as FALL when you knock a monster from mounting yourself. Doing it on the ground is a waste of precious swings but you can actually use these items as the hunter jumps off the monster after his finisher.
Idea for investigation. Which damage armor skills give you the most mileage? Should I go for handicraft and protective polish, or just pump up that raw attack? Etc.
Paradise, great info as always! Can we get an investigation on if the slugger skill is working as advertised? I've seen that there is a lot of controversy on if it is actually working or not.
Another great video! Wouldn't mind more details on the defense stat, and what the value translates to when getting hit in the face. Perhaps also resistances?
Sure you may have covered the ways to increase ATK/DEF with items and of course you've already covered the canteen but, what about a comprehensive investigation on all the songs of the Hunting Horn? They have an ATK+/DEF+ song as well as many others that will truly get you to the max in addition to everything else previously mentioned. DOOTDOOT!
Here's a challenge if you guys want to try to pull this off (assuming you haven't yet). Solo or group hunt a Tempered Nergigante without any armor. I haven't really seen anyone do this yet and I think it would be awesome to watch. :D
Zach Mercer Look up Phemeto. He's done armorless(wiggler helm but that doesnt help) nergi as well as blind folded kill on nergi, teo, kushala and a bunch of other monsters.
So I came up with an "IRL Demondrug": tall glass of blood orange juice, 2-3 shots spiced rum, teaspoon of powdered ginger, and a pinch of powdered ghost pepper. Haven't actually tried making it yet, but I wonder if it'd be any good (I don't know much about cocktails and stuff, this just randomly popped into my head while playing the game).
I'm still hoping for an investigation on how to effectively use the tainted meats. I know they won't affect every monster but I've only been able to trigger odogaron to eat them once and I haven't been able to duplicate it since.
Maybe useful ways to use traps? I know some but I feel like there is more. I love learning from your channel and I can't wait for this week's weapon. X3
Something I've always been curious about is how exactly elemental damage is calculated based on your normal defense and your elemental resistance. I know elemental resist helps against blights, but if a hunter with 150 defense and +10 fire resist and a hunter with 250 defense and -10 fire resist got hit by the same fire attack, who takes more damage? Presumably the hunter with lower base defense, but then how much difference does the element resist make?
I always bring all of these buffs (except Mega Drugs because they're so expensive and not readily obtainable like they were in Gen and the Pills because of the 20 second) but man, I can never remember to use the Seeds/Powders
there is nothing to really tell that isnt in the tutorial but u most likely wont get any good decorations out of it and for melding items that in the tutorial as well and its just get enough points to make that item or trading in the gold/silver tickets
Dont remember seeing this covered but with palico buffs from the orchestra equipment how long they last or the values they give. They happen usually in the thick of combat so checking the stat screen is problematic
Hi Arekkz and Paradise, just want to thank you for these videos. First one I found of yours was the Charge Blade workshop vid which was so good. It helped my game no end! Keep up the good stuff.
I know it pretty well, but *please* do an investigation on Guard Points. I see so many people wiffing them or trying to do them without the monster attacking etc...
GunlessSnake it's not as viable as raw. Saved you a whole video. (Unless you want to build an elemental weapon for every monster that is weak to a given element (even then they are still sometimes worse than raw weapons because of elemental damage caps in this game))
Oh wow, the powders and seeds stack? I didn't know that, I thought they overwrote each other, like use seeds when solo and powders for group. Nice to know!
How about doing a video breaking down how players get stunned and how to get out of it. And maybe test if flinch free would prevent another player from helping you out of a stun.
Can you talk about buff limits? For example I heard retain elemental weapons don’t get any benefit from more than 3 decos, or that constitution III and dash Juice is the highest stamina recovery can go and getting level IV is useless. Etc.
Yes. Does ailment up song from hunting horns effect elder seal. People tell me it works sorta like a status effect so I want to know if that HH song works on elder seal.
what about Nitroshroom/Parashroom? with mushroomancer u can eat those to have an attack/defense boost that last untill you die like the Demondrug, but that count as a demondrug? or u can even stack that up? number-wise are the shroom equal to demondrug or mega demondrug / armor ?
Hope this one helps you guys out, remember to always drink the demon juice ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
...and still not hit the True Charged Slash? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Arhen Dante they stack however so it's worth to do both
Arhen Dante
Wrong
At Monster Hunter World, they Stack.
For Max Attack You can use :
Attack Up L FOOD Skill
Mega Demondrug
Mightseed
Demonpowder
(mightpill)
They all Stack!!!
I swear this is the best place to find and get just the right info we need. Thanks for the videos guys, keep it up.
I also love this channel. Another one to check out is Gaijin Hunter. He post great content too.
Deathgun gaming is pretty great too
I think helping players with an easy video on partBreaks and how to trigger flinches would be cool. Explaining how it generally effects item drops would also be useful. Most early players just kinda hack away without direction, so this might refine their play.
200 hours in and I still mostly just hack away XD
also how does the severing on tails work, if it is x ammount of cutting dmg or x ammount of any dmg + 1 cutting dmg at the end, because if it is the later the boomerang can be usefull to blunt weapons users so they can just strike it and then use the boomerang to cut

Working on flinche with LS now my counter sucks right now🙃😞😝🤕
For the item drops from parts and rates, just look at the hunter's notes... It's all right there.
The adamant pill is literally one of the worst items in this game. Passive defense buffs are great but totally not worth it for only 20 sceonds unless you literally intend to get hit.
Might pill has its uses for example on a GS wakeup hit
Soul of Cindert is right. There is some use for might pills if you have a trapped, paralyzed or sleeping monster and you want to give it a particularily nasty smack, for example a fully charged hit with the greatsword or a fully powered elemental burst hit with charge blade.

The armor pill used to give flinch resistance along side 40 def its pretty sad in this game just 20 def
The adamant pill can negate "defence down" blight, like against the deviljho.
*D E M O N J U I C E* drink every time he says Demon Juice. I personally just use a demondrug and armourskin for normal hunts and megas for EDs.
Next investigation: Elder Melder Breakdown!!
Thanks!
Yes please
I miss Maximeld the XIV. if the elder melder is like maxi then I'll cry
Remember, if you have wide area,(except max level) powders deploy faster and further than seeds, so they are quicker to top off the party before an assault or escape. But this is at the cost of more crafting/mats.
One thing that might have been nice to talk about is how these buffs stack/conflict with food attack and defense buffs. A nice video overall though.
Birdman stacks, as with previous mh titles
I thought I read somewhere that food buffs don’t stack with the juices and drugs, just the seeds and pills? Or that it depended on whether you got small, medium or large food buffs. Can’t remember exactly.

Aw man, I thought it was still 5mins, so I only used them on Temp Elders.
It’s good that you know how to fight without the addition of buffs but buffs will improve your gameplay and hunt
Farm them in the growers boxes
It's as easy to farm mats in previous mh as in mhw... The farm in previous games gave so much more stuff back then...
IT'S DEMONDRUG
Wtf is a demon juice??
Gotta juice those demons.
It's me, Devildrug!
Triggered!
DEMONETIZED
An investigation video on the monster crowns would be great!
others have asked that and people have replied, even arekkz has as saying there isnt enough for a video and that its random on the monster your assigned to fight will be large or small and gold crown is the biggest/smallest possible and silver in second biggest/smallest
"they're all on steroids"
-Nate Diaz
This is a great step for anyone trying to get more into monster hunter, kinda like how you only start caring about Pokémon when you get into the buffing moves
Fun tip when playing with a friend firing flares. Bring Palico with their instruments to gain buffs before your help arrives. It's a strategy we used grinding to 100 and works well.
There's so much to this game and you guys have helped me learn so much of it. I'll be updating my item and radial menu loadouts after this video.
another cool thing is that if you use maxed wide range you can share the full buff chain with ur group stack that with a HH atk/def XL song and you can give out some crazy buffs
You forgot mushroomancer
Edit: Because you can stack Nitroshrooms and Parashrooms with drugs, seeds, and powder. And like drugs, they last until you cart.
TheDustyMuffinsss shrooms is all I need
Joroken Underrated comment 😂😂😂
What do parashrooms give u ?
Jason Lionheart defense boost
TheDustyMuffinsss check your stats with demon drug+ nitroshroom because i don't think they actually stack. Same with parashroom.
Great video again guys. Didn't realise half of the stuff you mentioned. Really useful.

Love how informative these videos are! Keep em coming!
Even 5 years later your video is useful .thank you.
Probably the most helpful vid I've seen on mh, been playing since ps2 and portable and I always guessed on the duration on these buffs but never wanted to calculate the exact time. After 10 years...thank you very much!! (:
A good investigation is how much critical boost increases the damage of crit attacks
You said demon juice to still get ads you are so smart man! I was confused at first but then I understood. You’re vids are great and have helped me. Thank you
This video was sooo helpful! Thanks for uploading it guys!
You forgot mushroommancer and food buffs other than that amazing video. Keep it up guys
Just made a support Sword And Shield build so this is very useful info! Thanks so much guys, I might submit my build to Mixed Set Monday ^^
Thanks Arreks you are indeed one of the best experienced hunters. Happy Hunting!
Another great vid. I personally still use a MM setup before I go on tempered investigations. Being able to switch inventory and equipment builds on the fly takes a bit of the micromanaging out of the equation. I just rotate the shrooms out when harvesting. Keep this up, please. VERY informative from Arekkz
Great video! I'd love a video explaining on Monster part breaking works. Such as those specific horns and tails. Sometimes if feel like total RNG
it's a christian channel they don't do drug XD
Are they really Christian?
No lmao
Great video! I'd love to see an investigation on how damage is calculated, and things like how defense & resists work.
Mushroomancy should really be covered in this video as well. They can basically replace demon/armor buffs for less resource cost
Great video and very well explained. Cheers mate!
Absolutely awesome video so informative and concise! As far as new topics I'm still curious about where the elemental damage cap is and was wondering if that would be worth your time to make a video for. Whatever you decide to do it always seems to be really helpful thanks for all your hard work!

200hrs in and I’ve been buffing myself incorrectly.... not anymore!!!!!
Thanks bud
I'd love to have some of the armor skills explained, like latent power or bludgeoner
We can definitely look to explore some of those! Are there any others you'd particularly like to know more about?
Megabakufun2 I only ask because of a cursory search, most of the information out is for the older games. And there's something's, like purple sharpness, that don't apply to world.
Arekkz Gaming Thanks for the reply dude.

Tyler Stilwell I don't know about benefits. but I think mushromancer is the ability to eat more shrooms

So 10 different items for big buffs. Got it. Thanks. This channel is great. :D
Starting to really like this guy. Very well done video!
This was an amazing explanation =)
Great video Paradise.
Would be nice if they had a little timer on the screen to show how long each buff has before it expires
Would love to see one of these videos on Melding, very confusing for beginners, different prints etc.
Good video and appreciate the stats for those bro
Sure you may have covered the ways to increase ATK/DEF with items and of course you've already covered the canteen but, what about a comprehensive investigation on all the songs of the Hunting Horn? They have an ATK+/DEF+ song as well as many others that will truly get you to the max in addition to everything else previously mentioned. DOOTDOOT!
You neglected to mention the mushroom buffs from Mushroommancer and if/how they stack with the rest of the buff consumables.
awesome job once again, thanks!
How the might seed used to make other damage buffs but only last 3 min and does better damage 💀
Right bruh I was thinking the same thing
Here's a challenge if you guys want to try to pull this off (assuming you haven't yet). Solo or group hunt a Tempered Nergigante without any armor. I haven't really seen anyone do this yet and I think it would be awesome to watch. :D
Zach Mercer Look up Phemeto. He's done armorless(wiggler helm but that doesnt help) nergi as well as blind folded kill on nergi, teo, kushala and a bunch of other monsters.
Will freakn do, thanks!
Also need to in include the possible buffs from coral orchestra or Hunter horn. They also stack with the drug, seed, powder combo
I'm still hoping for an investigation on how to effectively use the tainted meats. I know they won't affect every monster but I've only been able to trigger odogaron to eat them once and I haven't been able to duplicate it since.
Thanks for the video bro :D you and DEATHGUN GAMING give my monster hunter life meaning lol ♡♡
I think a good topic for the next investigation would be something about the workshop weapons which you need coins for
just got to do arena quests in the gathering hall for the coins to make them
How about defensive options for the next investigation? Hp Regen, different levels/forms of blocking, damage reduction and their costs.
I always bring all of these buffs (except Mega Drugs because they're so expensive and not readily obtainable like they were in Gen and the Pills because of the 20 second) but man, I can never remember to use the Seeds/Powders
Great video!
Thanks again for this. If you guys can do one about melding that would be sweet.
there is nothing to really tell that isnt in the tutorial but u most likely wont get any good decorations out of it and for melding items that in the tutorial as well and its just get enough points to make that item or trading in the gold/silver tickets
Bringing seeds and powders into all my item sets now, thanks guys! Man, my sets just got way more expensive...
Normal demon juice is good enough and a lot more economical to use on every fight as all of its materials can be cultivated at the farm.
Dont remember seeing this covered but with palico buffs from the orchestra equipment how long they last or the values they give. They happen usually in the thick of combat so checking the stat screen is problematic
What's your palico wearing? That looks awesome!
Maybe the next investigation should be on Elemental Damage, and how it works for Monsters, Weapons, etc.
GunlessSnake it's not as viable as raw. Saved you a whole video. (Unless you want to build an elemental weapon for every monster that is weak to a given element (even then they are still sometimes worse than raw weapons because of elemental damage caps in this game))
Could you do mushroom buffs for mushroomancers pls. Great series, thank you.
Arekkz what weapon guide are you doing next
Oh wow, the powders and seeds stack? I didn't know that, I thought they overwrote each other, like use seeds when solo and powders for group. Nice to know!
How about doing a video breaking down how players get stunned and how to get out of it. And maybe test if flinch free would prevent another player from helping you out of a stun.
Can you talk about buff limits? For example I heard retain elemental weapons don’t get any benefit from more than 3 decos, or that constitution III and dash Juice is the highest stamina recovery can go and getting level IV is useless. Etc.
I like this guy way better than the other. Thank you for as little spoilers as possible.
TDL the charms stack with the talons! Time to spend another 50,000+ zenny
Your videos are the best!
Thanks for the tip! I was wasting time & resources making pills. Now I know to save the raw seeds after making mega juices.
Wide range ability is very useful when using those buff items.
Add 20% attack up from HH aswell for a much larger boost
Mega demon drug + seed + powder + song = every hunters wet dream
Wow I had no idea they lasted the whole mission unless you died... I will definitely start using them now.
Yes. Does ailment up song from hunting horns effect elder seal. People tell me it works sorta like a status effect so I want to know if that HH song works on elder seal.
Your hunter and palico look incredible
And how does all of this interact with hunting horn buffs? Do the defense and attack buffs from the hunting horn stack on top as well?
what about Nitroshroom/Parashroom? with mushroomancer u can eat those to have an attack/defense boost that last untill you die like the Demondrug, but that count as a demondrug? or u can even stack that up? number-wise are the shroom equal to demondrug or mega demondrug / armor ?
I always have demondrug along with demon powder. Then I pop a might pill before I go in for my first damage
please make a video on how defense affects damage taken!
