My childhood idol. I started with football because of Zico and he will always be my number 1. Romantic football, thats Zico. Bless you and thank you for this tribute.
Apart from his cristalline class in free kicks and dribbling, he was probably the best playmaker of his generation and as an attacking midfielder scored more goal than most forwards would score. He was a goddamned alien and is also an amazing humble and hardworking person. Hats off
After watching this it's fair to say Maradona was Argentina's Zico (as Romario was Maradona as a pure forward) . We all know how Maradona went to Europe and cemented his rep further than Zico did internationally. Wow, what a player! Top ten ATG talent, no doubt!
He was an astonishing footballer - passing and vision was as good as any player in the history of the game, there's never been anyone better. He was a lot quicker than most remember, a fantastic dribbler and scored a ton of goals. Not quite as good as Messi, Maradona and Pele, but definitely above the likes of Zidane and Platini.
If he stayed a little longer in Udinese we would have surely won the championship, but it wasn't his fault, if he could have stayed longer here he surely would have done it, beacuse he is in love with the region (in italian it's "regione", it's one of the 20 parts in which is divided Italy, I think in english it's state but I'm not sure), even if he's been in japan for a few years now he still remembers some words in the traditional language and he still thinks that the territory of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is beautiful and unique By the tike he got here he was cinsidered the strongest player in the world, everyone living in that period will always remember this event, even if he/she wasn't a football fan. Sorry if the grammar is wrong but I'm italian

Just disagree a bit on the trophy cabinet part, all the state championships (which were almost as important as the league at that time), 4 league titles, 1 libertadores and the intercontinental is absolutely huge in South American football, which was pretty much the same level as European until the late 90's, when our best players began to leave to European clubs. Flamengo was the second most successful in Brazilian football, just behind Santos, after Zico's generation. Him not winning anything in Italy nor with the national team, does count down down a bit, so I'd give him 8/10.

Brazilian national team in 78’s world cup got 3th position with no loss. The squad leaded by Zico lost the final match because Argentina payed Paraguay’s goalkeeper at the middle finals
Complete player great individually as well as a great teammate
It should be noted that before Messi's 94 goals in a single calendar year Zico held the record at 88. That's how long his record lasted.
An amazing genius of a player who doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Messi broke the record of gerd Muller not zico's
@@SonuSharma-xx2hj I stand corrected. I watched a documentary (official, not UA-cam) and it said that Zico had 88 goals in 1981 but I see his best year was 1979 with 72. I concede the point.
@@rraynor no problem at all 👍 ...in 1981 he might have scored 88 goals including Friendlies which were very important nd hag prestige back then ..
been watching a few of these and I really like the rating system. top work
He’s always been my favorite Brazilian player of all time with Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. But no one talks about him
His peak was almost 40 years ago, people won't talk as much about Ronaldinho and Ronaldo in 30 years time either.
@@ronniep9272 they still talking bout pele tho
@@Zoejwett it's because Pele revolutionised football and did really well in the 1958 and 1970 World Cups. He was also much more athletically gifted than Zico
Zico is one of the greatest 5 players ever and definitely better than enyone after 1990,if only could watch half of Zicos actions 4or 5 times on replay from different tv cameras on a live match like we do the last 30years then nobody would talk for anybody else!
Zico, my childhood soccer idol.
Di Stefano, Puskas, Best, Cruyff, Zico, Platini and Baggio. Never won World Cup. Seven of the greatest of all time.
Zico, the White Pelé, the second after the King in soccer history! I am Brazilian, I watched him playing many times in Maracanã and on TV!
@NMA 55 NIDHIN JOBI How old are you? Do you know Brazilian soccer? So many fantastic players here in the 20th century! You know only C.Ronaldo, Messi and Maradona...
For muy is the BEST if history!!! Only Maradona nex. C. Ronaldo and Messi, very long...

@@enriquenovials6143 Zico superior
Fantastic player.Had it all.Souness was/is a big admirer.
65 goals in 51 matches is absolutely bonkers
As a midfielder
GOAT
He was amazing Zico a joy to watch
I have cp and support Flamengo, needed surgery and Zico found out. Called my place and we kept in touch for a good time. Hero
His era and his prime was before my time unfortunately. Would have loved to seem him play.
the best, o melhor que vi jogar, gênio.
Good stuff as always. Thanks, man, for the overview of the white pele
!
Of course man, no worries, glad you enjoyed it
Who understands football knows that Zico is one the best 10 midfielders of the football history 🤷♂️
Completely agree that he is inexplicably and massively underrated outside South America. He is undoubtedly one of a very short list of players who could realistically lay claim to being the best ever.
Point of note: In your video when you mark his score for Flair the voice over says that he receives a 10/10 (as it undoubtedly should be) but at the same time there is 8/10 written on the screen. Shurely shome mishtake?
Yeah it's insane how underrated dhe is, also yeah just a mistake
I believe Messi was a Zico's illegimate son
Because Messi looks like Zico
Same about kaka and joao felix
And they have very similar playstyle
@edsonjunior9889 nope,messi and maradona had similar playstyle😅😅😅
Im Brazilian and he was the best one I ever seen !
Amazing player ....
Zico was one of my first football heroes.
Zico é ídolo de bastante jogadores craques Brasileiros e estrangeiros tbm.
He is vastly underrated. Zico is way better than Platini.
I'm Brazilian and a Flamengo fan. But I would put Platini in the same league. To me, the best French player ever.
Zico é um Deus.
82 was why I started playing because of him and how Brazilians played
The Genius Zico ❤
My childhood idol. I started with football because of Zico and he will always be my number 1. Romantic football, thats Zico. Bless you and thank you for this tribute.
Só quem viu sabe o quanto esse cara jogou.
Not Maradona, not Pele , my idol was Zico, saw him playing with Flamengo in Maracana and once i took un autograph at the airport
As a ten year old in '82 ... he was MY Pele.
Zico is the best player since Pele, what a genius.
Zico superb player...
If he stayed a little longer in Udinese we would have surely won the championship, but it wasn't his fault, if he could have stayed longer here he surely would have done it, beacuse he is in love with the region (in italian it's "regione", it's one of the 20 parts in which is divided Italy, I think in english it's state but I'm not sure), even if he's been in japan for a few years now he still remembers some words in the traditional language and he still thinks that the territory of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is beautiful and unique
By the tike he got here he was cinsidered the strongest player in the world, everyone living in that period will always remember this event, even if he/she wasn't a football fan.
Sorry if the grammar is wrong but I'm italian
best free kicker all time
Nope 😅juninho,pele were bttr
Icon factor 7/10 ???
Anybody who've seen him knows how great Zico was. Just because today fanboys never heard of him, doesn't mean Zico is not an icon.
Messi is the goat, Zico trash
@@jaydeepbose4501pessi is a lace in Zico's left shoes!
Almost close to 1000 sub's congrats .....so proud of you

If Zico had played in a big Club in Europe he would be considered the best midfielder in history
He is the best player that I have ever seen on field. He was superb.
Zico 5 -Maradona 0
Both were excellent players.RIP Maradona
The star of that ICONIC Brazil team that won nothing but is still talked about 38 years later!
It is an achievement for sure
That team won nothing, but Zico wons a lot, believe me, to a player have a better career than Zico today, he needs to win the national league, the continental one, the intercontinental one and have a statue.
Flamengo won the brazilian Nacional champioship in 80 82 83 87 92 09 and 19 and brazilian cup in 90 06 and 13 sò its not true that Flamengo have won nothing in 38 yars my friend
Awesome video!
great voice over, Portuguese man speaking very good English.
Your videos are very awesome I really hope you got a lot more subscribers that you do have now can you please make a Paul scholes video I would really appreciate I'm a United fan 🙏
ofc man scholes will eventually get one dont worry
In 80's there were so many great attacking midfielders like zico, socrates, platini, maradona......Man! These 4 r arguably the best amfs in the world
The forgotten legend ❤️
Just disagree a bit on the trophy cabinet part, all the state championships (which were almost as important as the league at that time), 4 league titles, 1 libertadores and the intercontinental is absolutely huge in South American football, which was pretty much the same level as European until the late 90's, when our best players began to leave to European clubs. Flamengo was the second most successful in Brazilian football, just behind Santos, after Zico's generation. Him not winning anything in Italy nor with the national team, does count down down a bit, so I'd give him 8/10.
He was fantastic
Zico is just tge best at what he does mn🔥🔥🔥💯
My Dad Said He Was Amazing! 🤩⚽️
The white pele. Love the goat scores
One of the best in Football history..Ich love him more than Maradona. both are great
That assist for socrates goal against Italy in 1982 is a thing of pure beauty, he makes Gentile look like a novice 😂😂😂😂😂
I have Zico in my greatest team ever he was amazing the goals from midfield were of the charts 👏 had they not slipped up against Italy I truly believe we would be talking about zico like we do Ronaldo' Ronaldinho' Zidane' players of that quality true legends of the game' he was an amazing player..
Zico is very close to Maradona and in some specific skills in even better but he didn't play long time in Europe he arrived at the end of carrea and he was a injured often but he was the best player in the world
Just a small correction. The América you showed in the beginning of the video is the one from Mexico. You wanted to show the one from Rio: América-RJ.
That made me laugh
