We Aussies, along with our friends, the Americans, Canadians, British, Irish, & Kiwis have fought and died together for the last 100 years, in all major military actions. I cant think of another group of countries that have such a bond, and friendship.
+Ozgrade3 That's what I call the Western Alliance: USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada. Can't find an Alliance, a family bond and a union greater than that I'd say. Much love to our great Aussie cousins half way round the world!!! Love ya guys!!! From a Brit! :) :) :) :)
To the thousands of British solders, sailors, and airmen who left home and hearth to defend MY country after the horrific events of 9/11/01 thank you. To the families of the 453 British solders who made the ultimate sacrifice Thank You will never be enough. This yank will ALWAYS be grateful, and remember for as far as I'm concerned they died for me and me family. We honor our fallen on May 25th... and I hoist a glass for them for I count their deaths in defense of the United States just as much as I do our own.
The guys seemed overwhelmed by the wonderful welcome they received. I'm British, and you Americans made sure the British soldiers felt valued and honoured for their service. Thank you all.
Cool I'm American and love the UK my girlfriend is British. I was there for my second trip in February and i'm going back to see her in November for my 3rd trip. That's her with me in my photo she's in Amesbury :)
As a former British Soldier I would like to say thank you for this. I was always treated with the utmost respect by our American cousins, but it is still good to see the relationship remains strong. Thanks again.
*wipes tear from my eye* I wish I saw more of this. As a British patriot it warms my heart. I guess no matter how much the politicians disagree, the people will always have a special relationship. I am just so sick of seeing arrogant Americans on youtube, sometimes i forget they represent the minority, not the majority. God bless America.
+Joe Materese Don't worry about it. The gesture was enough. :) Also, little known fact, it is only called the 'Union Jack' when displayed at sea, otherwise it is the union flag. :) We appreciate the gesture and I am sure it meant the world to those soldiers. Thank you for your support of our troops. I don't think any other 2 countries have this kind of relationship. It really is a special relationship and I am glad many Americans see it that way too.
+Whoami691 I'm a Brit and I want to say remember there are lots of rude British idiots on youtube who call Americans stupid and are just plain embarrasing for British people. In fact I'd say there are more respectful Americans than Britons on youtube. But I'd like to assure Americans that the idiots they encounter on youtube are not the main British people. Everyone I know likes and supports the US and we are well aware of our history with you and all you've done for Europe. Videos like this are just wonderful. God bless the US.
+Ingur Lund UA-cam idiots... we both have more than our fair share of those - still another thing our nations have in common. Fortunately, UA-cam generally keeps them busy raging away on their keyboards and off the streets, so I'm sure any visiting Brit would receive a warm friendly welcome from all our real-life Americans.
My son Ben did two tours of Afgan. The second tour he was with the Americans and they absolutely took care of him and I’ll always be so grateful for that. He has nothing but praise for the American service people he served with. Great folk.
I served as part of a 6 man British team in a US artillery/Ordnance unit in Germany in the early '70's. They were nearly all conscripts in those days and did not take their military duties overly seriously (good enough to do a job if called upon buy you would not wish to expand on that) The pros amongst them were top class people, many had Vietnam service under their belts so knew exactly how seriously wrong things could go in a matter of seconds - they were at the top of their game and a joy to work with. The conscripts were just teenagers with all the usual teenage problems of too much energy, too much time, not enough money and brains still not fully formatted. Fun and trouble in equal amounts but they gave us respect and in turn we gave them our best efforts and taught them how to drink and not get into trouble with the German Police or end up in a German hospital. There was a brigade sized British unit not that far away and interactions were many and usually on friendly terms (all the British were professionals and gave the US lads some leeway so it usually all had a happy ending).
@@smudgealdrin1512 Never tried to hide it or trumpet it either mate. Much of it all just not worth commenting on so I don't. Chronologically and all in a different era so current locations of those units surviving the bean counters efforts have no relevence to anything here - 16 (plus dets), 233, 21, 30 (Though rarely ever with parent unit) , 229, 9, 10 - civvy street to work for the crown for a further 35 years. With a short break of a few years living in the US. My wife was USAF. Now retired, getting fat and as contented as a young lad born in Dorset could ever hope to be. Just hope life has been as kind to you as it has me sir.
+mraaronhd Red, white and blue Our fates intertwined One old and one young But we stand side by side Through thick and through thin Through rain and through shine Though we can argue and bicker and not stand eye to eye, We share the same heritage States and Kingdoms United Flags both Red, White and Blue Family always undivided. Much love to the USA from a Brit!!! I'm going to DC and New York next week, so I can't wait to visit you guys!!! Plus I want to move out to L.A and become a US citizen, so much love from a hopefully future US Citizen too!!!! ;) :) :) :)
+30secondstomarsMBH Good luck to you my friend. I hope you enjoy your trip! :) And if you really enjoy history then please make sure to visit Williamsburg, Virginia and St. Augustine, Florida (St. Augustine is the oldest established town in the US and Britain also a big part in colonizing Florida). And I would also check out Ocracoke island, North Carolina and see where Blackbeard met his fate at (you might also be surprised to hear the accent of the natives there). And definitely don't miss out on West Virginia (or the Appalachian mountains in general) during autumn (or year round). The mountains are gorgeous during autumn with the land in full harvest! And hit the bourbon trail in Kentucky and try all the bourbon you can. I can go on and on, but enjoy yourself and stay safe! :)
mraaronhd Thanks!!! Alas, it's a 6 day packed out trip with my university, so the timetable's already set in stone, but one day, if I travel to the US for a holiday, or if I'm lucky enough to be able to live, I'll visit these places, I'll take a rain-check on the bourbon though, not a fan of alcohol!! Appalachian mountains ARE already on my list of places to go, as is Kentucky, Texas, Alabama (being a black male, the Civil Rights movement is something very interesting to me) Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit. I could go on too!!! I'm going to see my grandma and my aunty as well, Grandma's from Jamaica and Aunty's a British American, they left Birmingham (UK) to move out to New York years before I was born, so I've visited there a few times, and I'm gonna pop round for a visit. So I'm very much used to you guys!!! One thing that's surprising me though is tipping, in the UK, whilst we do tip, I've only just realised how much you guys tip. Not in cost of course, I'm not a selfish person or anything, but as a student I'm worried a bit about how much tips are going to cost. Do you think you could help me work on my budget if possible? It'd be great to get some help from an American on costs in the US. Thanks very much again for the info!!!!. :) Much love :)
I'm retired U.S. Military and in my service I had the honor to serve with H.M. forces. To all fellow Americans know that HM forces are faithful and brave allies and brotherly. I have the deepest respect for them and Thank God for them, dear friends!
the independence of the USA helped divide power. since then, though the domestic policies and partisan divides differ, we have always remained as one. In my eyes, a testimony in the power of limiting power and creating room for liberty. If only more could see this in the US and start limiting the powers of the feds and let the people of each state live as they please, we could reignite this brotherhood.
You people do understand this happens to not just people across the pond, people being born in Latin America yet moving to the states without choice, yet they fight and die for your country, men yes you men and woman who love to think down of those "immigrants" remember your own people aren't from this land, we love and grow up in this country as much as your, our skin ain't your taste or our looks , but even uncle Sam doesn't look at that when calling for war
@@attackonmars5198 Served alongside all religions, nationalities and yes skin colours - only once suffered any such problems considering any of those and it was swiftly dealt with. An Indian lad who just could not and would not work alongside white troops without trying to cause some sort of foment and misery when everyone else was working toward the one goal. He didn't last long and promptly tried to claim he was a victim of race discrimination. He pulled his shit once too often, got a broken nose for it and it was witnessed by a West Indian NCO who decided enough was enough and he wasn't having any more of it. The Indian lad was taken to the MO and not seen again after that. No ideas where they sent him to keep him happy and could not care less as long as it wasn't near me (or obviously the Fijian lad who finally decked him because he'd pushed his bullshit too far) A happy multi ethnic group thereafter it has to be said.
Yea, emotional because your people constantly demonize us and now you're realizing that we're not as horrible as we're portrayed. Too bad the damage has already been done. Your countrymen hate us, and we're well aware.
11 November and Rememberance Sunday every year here in the UK is a HUGE show of appreciation to UK vets that no other country in the world carries out you should check out the uploads and see how respect is carried out
From an English woman to Bitter weeds we do love our fighting lads its just that we dont show our appreciation in quite the way the Americans do unfortunately, but you should see our nurses and doctors etc who look after the wounded.!! Its just our politicians who fail to convince !!
As an ex serving British Soldier [ Ex Royal Engineer -Sapper] - I appreciate everything that you did for our brave wounded soldiers during their stay with you . I had the privilege to live and work in your beautiful country in the mid 1980's for a couple of years a time I will never forget as it was a wonderful time. Thank you again for treating our troops as if they were your own. Respectfully yours Richard :)
ExRE_Sapper Thank you for supporting our country! We truly appreciate and love our Allies, especially the British (secretly our favorite). we will always have your country's back!
Dear Ex Dapper 😜I am George from Michigan and I U had the Honor and Privilege of working with you "Blokes" while serving in Germany as a Combat Engineer supporting "The Army of the Rhine 🇬🇧🇺🇸Ggod Bless
H4CK61 there are a few Yanks the (American Leftists) who deep down hate US troops and our allies troops... But the Majority feel nothing but Love and Respect for the US and her Allies...
+Danny Boy Lefists don't hate US troops. Radical people do, but please don't tar Leftism with that brush. I hate seeing people attack us as if we don't care. I have nothing but respect and admiration for troops of our allies and of ourselves (I'm a Brit). I've never met a Left winger that doesn't feel the same. We only hate war, we'd rather peace and freedom and equality and no-one, soldiers and civilians alike having to die. Don't think that because we fight to end war we hate troops. That's not true and is incredibly hurtful, especially as so many liberals have fought and sacrificed in the military.
I have never the Honor of visiting your country. My 10+ yrs put me in our Strategic Cold War Forces with 27 mos Minot N.D. 18 mos on Guam and 5 yrs F.E. Warren AFB. We respected Canadian ROTC to our base and sometimes the Red Arrows practiced above us. We were a stationary target during the Cold War knowing I would die but knew it was an all out effort for all our countries to survive. 1984 thru 1994 were the most exciting yrs of my life. I tried to volunteer in 1990 but was declined because I had a critical job, but my roommate got to go. Have UTMOST RESPECT and LOVE for our Valued Allies.
+Rob Trust Isn't that what life's all about? A bit like family, except that once you've fought alongside someone, there's a bond that even family doesn't usually have.
I went to Snowmass village in Colorado a few years ago with Blesma (British limbless ex servicemen's association), where we met up with wounded American soldiers from the Wounded Warriors programme and spent two weeks with CAMO,, I was quite at 48 and was one of only two ex British soldiers not to have lost my leg and suffered serious injuries to the remaining leg through enemy action, I lost mine a serious RTA as I was cycling home from teaching recruits, because of this I didn't feel like I should be there, but the Americans soon put that thought out of my head, they didn't care if id lost it in action or an accident or through illness, when they found out I had served 16yrs and done 7 operational tours in Northern Ireland they made me feel very welcome and thanked me for my service, the reaction throughout the entire stay from the Americans was unbelievable, we didn't want for anything. They showed us respect wherever we went, we went to Aspen and the reaction was the same, they made us feel proud to be ex British soldiers, The veteran's in the US ore fiercely proud of there service and rightly so, its something that will stick with me till the day I die, thank you for making our stay fantastic, however they still cannot out drink us Brits, they tried to (every night lol) but failed miserably, like they once said , "you Brits are the 1st into the bar, the last out of the bar but are still up, fed and ready to roll before us in the mornings" , what can I say, work hard and play hard.
@Phil Meenadz Exactly and who could blame him, the things we allowed to happen on these shores this year ... Would have had those great Men and Women who gave their lives for us, rolling in their graves. Lest We Forget
I worked with some Americans and was told that one of the reasons they welcome home their troops so respectfully goes back to the Vietnam War when their returning troops were not always treated well. They were greeted by anti war activists. Nothing wrong with being anti war; we all should be, but these troops had no choice and did their job. Looking back they realized their mistake and have more than made up for it. My dad was a Scot and fought in WWII. He admired the US because at that time they always owned up to their mistakes but like the rest of the world they are all covering up for their mistakes at the expense of true patriots.we owe a lot to all our veterans and serving soldiers.
After seeing your comment, it honestly tore me up inside. Despite not getting that when you came home, know that there are MANY people who value your service and dedication to a cause higher than yourself. Stay safe and thank you for your service!
That’s not right. You should have been welcomed home with open arms. You did the job you were sent to do, and without reservation. It’s too eerily reminiscent of our soldiers coming home from Vietnam, an already stressful and traumatic situation, and being spit on, screamed at, called baby killers and all sorts of awful things. They deserved better, and so do you.
@@BJBlaskovichGaming It's not that the British populace by large doesn't respect our army lads, they certainly do, as a nation however we tend to be reserved and maybe think the lads don't want the commotion, for instance, 75% of the British populace donate to armed forces charities, it's just a cultural thing.
About 30 years in my parish church, I meet a very nice older gentleman form Ireland. He said he was at Dunkirk, North Africa and Normandy. A very kind person. He worked for the railroad when he came over he knew cousin. God Bless him and all British Army soldiers. My Dad was stationed with the 5th Infantry Division in England prior to D-Day; fought under Patton for awhile.. He said the British soldiers were excellent soldiers. God Bless you brave young men.
Now these guys are the ones you go down on your Knee for......its so respectful of the American people to show such appreciation for our British troops who have fought so bravely next to our American brethren for over 100 years.....HEROS every one of them.

Andy, as an American, I'd very much like to tell you how thankful we are to have brothers like you. The UK is a country we Americans will shed blood for and you are exactly the reason why. I've had the pleasure to go to your country many times and I absolutely love you all. God save the Queen and God Bless you Andy Smith... We love you. If you ever bless us with your presence and come to USA, let me know. I'd love to have you as our guest. I'm from Seattle but I'm relocating to Vegas. You are certainly more than welcome to come pay us a visit. I LOVE THE EPL, but my favourite club is Chelsea FC!!!! (sorry if you're not a Chelsea supporter. But I am. I love them!!!) God Bless you Andy
I'm british, people might not believe it from outside the UK by a lot of us hate the queen. To be honest they don't do much at all apart from sit in a big house in London or Windsor surrounded by Chinese tourists.
You definitely don't need to give any "thanks." We love you Brits. You're FAMILY in my opinion. My home is yours, and America will always be there if you need us!
I was fortunate enough to meet some of the U.S. wounded guys when they were in the UK. Damn , those guys had been through some real bad times , but I never met a nicer or funnier bunch of people. Spent a whole day having a laugh at Silverstone race circuit with them. I'll never forget that day.
As an American, I will never forget "The Star-Spangled Banner" being played at Buckingham Palace after the tragedy of 9/11. I remember weeping at the show of solidarity displayed by our cousins across the pond. Queen Elizabeth II, herself, ordered the break of protocol. Respect and Honor are not just words. They are heart-felt sentiments of mutual love, support and friendship. Thank you. God save The Queen!
As an Enduring Freedom vet, I've always held our allies, especially the British, in high regard. The guys in this video were the ones who said they would leave their homes to go fight with us after our country was attacked, and you can see the price they paid. Showing them the best of our hospitality is the least we can do for our friends across the pond. /salute
THANK YOU FOR THIS! What a wonderful Texan welcome for our Brit wounded, y'all! Deeply appreciated by this Scotsman who spent a couple of years on exchange with the 1st Cav Div in Ft Hood and in Iraq on Shield and Storm. Will never forget your friendliness and generosity. 2011...I was a USMC infantryman in Afghanistan myself at the time and I remember the 4th of July we just wanted to light off fireworks...or you know explosions to celebrate our independence day. Ironically and sadly a British soldier was taken by the Taliban and we opted to go on the hunt for him instead of celebrating on our forward operating base.... Unfortunately he was killed by the Taliban but they certainly paid in blood themselves that day...I'll never forget it but it felt like we made them pay a heavy price. 10 years later I regret nothing. Much love from one American warrior to our British brother's.

Nah, I live in Wales right next to England :)

As a former British Soldier I would like to say thank you for this. I was always treated with the utmost respect by our American cousins, but it is still good to see the relationship remains strong. Thanks again.

I wish I saw more of this.
Also, little known fact, it is only called the 'Union Jack' when displayed at sea, otherwise it is the union flag. :) We appreciate the gesture and I am sure it meant the world to those soldiers. Thank you for your support of our troops.
I don't think any other 2 countries have this kind of relationship. It really is a special relationship and I am glad many Americans see it that way too.
+Whoami691 You bet your ass they do. REAL Americans DO appreciate Patriots of ALL nations. God Bless the Queen Mate
Stephen Coleman God Bless America. :)
Great folk.
Much love back from an American an who kids are British with a British fiancée.

Much love :)
I'm retired U.S. Military and in my service I had the honor to serve with H.M. forces. To all fellow Americans know that HM forces are faithful and brave allies and brotherly. I have the deepest respect for them and Thank God for them, dear friends!
From a proud Brit from across the pond I must say what a wonderful bunch of people. Thanks to the people of Dallas - God bless you all.

*BROTHERS IN ARMS*
English by birth, moved to the US when I was 4. Became a proud US Marine and Persian Gulf vet. May England and America always be as one.
the independence of the USA helped divide power. since then, though the domestic policies and partisan divides differ, we have always remained as one.

I have a lot of respect for the way the Americans praise their veterans. Wish it were the same in the UK.
11 November and Rememberance Sunday every year here in the UK is a HUGE show of appreciation to UK vets that no other country in the world carries out you should check out the uploads and see how respect is carried out
Ian Robertson That is a very good point. But I was just saying that British troops would never get this welcome after getting off a plane in the UK.
rubiconyoufag Tell the people of Royal Wootton Bassett that.......

Thank you!

You're welcome my British comrade.

I take my hats off to those people, we didn't get anything like that coming home in the uk

I had the pleasure and privilege of serving alongside our US brothers in Germany, 1969-1972. I also visited Arlington in 1999 to pay my respects, whist doing my Ph.D. fieldwork at the State Department in D.C. Loved the Red Lion pub on K street ... :-)
What a great reception for our soldiers--Thankyou America ❤👏🇺🇸🇬🇧
Well, you Brits ARE family. My home is like yours, and we welcome you in anytime

The American people love and respect our Commonwealth allies. Very strong bond between our people. Thank you.
erm, usa arent part of the commonwealth en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_states_of_the_Commonwealth_of_Nations
silkaverage No, but all their best allies are.
Their aren't many primarily English speaking countries, so the few that are tend to be very familiar with eachothers cultures.

Dear Great Briton thank you for answering the call after 9/11 and sending thousands of your bravest to fight by our side in defense of our country. As far as I'm concerned your chaps fought for me and my family here in the United States. After all if not for that September day your boys would of never been in Afghanistan in the first place.
Andrew Oriez And we thank you very much for you this welcome that you gave to our troops

Cheers from France.
What a great reception from the appreciative Americans for British servicemen wounded in combat. It’s horrific to see the injuries suffered by these young men. I hope they are well taken care of by their government so that they can continue their lives post military.
The bikers pulling out in front of the buses made my hair stand on end. God bless America; from a Brit.

You're welcome I'm American and love the UK. My girlfreind is British and we have a baby girl on the was I''ve been there twice and plan to live there i hope by the end of the decade.
I've Travelled all over the USA down the years and i absolutely love the Country and the people. I don't ever feel like i' in a foreign country when i'm there. The USA and the UK supported by our Brothers in Australia and Canada we need to have each others backs more so now than ever. I was brought up in a very pro US family. My father telling me stories about the US service men who gave them Candy and fruit during the war yrs. My dad was 10yrs old when the Yanks showed up. He said from that day we knew the war was won. My father talked about visiting America, but never made it. He passed away when i was 15 and i swore i'd see as much of the USA as possible. Texas is on my list next.
Are you British?
God bless you and your dad. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
That would bring a tear to a glass eye that.
Ex British Soldier who spent a few months out in Fort Lewis/Yakima in Feb 🥶 back in the day 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Did the rainy weather remind you of the UK? I live by ft. Lewis and when I went to visit the UK I felt at home with all the dreary wet weather.
Proper respect for our galant allies, from the UK!
This is one of the best shows of respect I have ever seen. Proud of ALL the vets here. Thank you for your service.
UK & USA. BROTHERS FOREVER. The only ones who stand up when it matters.
What a lovely welcome thanks guys

Speaking as a former British Royal Marine Commando (1997 to 2014) who served I NI, Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, I am absolutely astounded by the warmth that the people of the United States regard us and welcome us into their homeland.
If I didn’t already have enough respect for the US, having served alongside your armed men and women, I certainly do now... and some.
God bless the United States of America and the United Kingdom and all our allies.
Memento Mori I’m American and I love the UK. My fiancé is English and we have a baby girl on the way. Love England. Do you live in England if I may ask? 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Fifafan 3 years late but I love the UK
Also 3 years late, but this American loves Britain as well 🙂💪🏾🏴🇺🇸
Also late....Love the UK. Signed, American.
RoZi2089 please don’t use the English flag to describe the United Kingdom, there are more nations within the country
Brit here as well. I love America too. I wish both brits and Americans would stop arguing about past wars and battles. Whether we love or hate each other, we're brothers and sisters until the end. Much respect.
To show such respect to heroes from the UK makes me proud to be an American. I have to say though that it must have been pretty overwhelming to be greeted by such a crowd, especially for the soldiers with PTSD
UK / USA
