Everytime Britain does this people are amazed. Britain takes rime to understand drill and its' purpose, Control, precision, Timing, operating as a unit!!!!!!! Nevermind......Don't preach to the lost.
A real treat for the Americans, the world best and greatest Military Band..
Absolutely
Thank you
I agree. They are very good. But the Best Military band. Ever. And the oldest in the British army. The Pipes and Drums of The Royal Scot’s first of foot first in line. Pontius Pilates body gaurd.
If this had been a Led Zeppelin video and someone posted that LZ were the greatest rock band of all time, I wouldn't have a problem with it (partly because it's true!). It wouldn't bother me if something similar was posted regarding videos of the Stones or Guns 'n' Roses or whoever. But somehow saying it about a military band from one country performing in another country seems somehow boastful and likely to be seen as such by people of the host country. If the RM Band is as good as you say, then, really, there's no need for you to say it.
@@harryselwind There is always someone looking to take offence on behalf of someone else.
Its an opinion.
So strange seeing the most British thing ever in the most American place ever. Nice treat for anyone walking in the park that day.
The Best of British by Far. Also the Best in the World.
Wish I could’ve seen this! While the history between our nations is complex and we LOVE to pick on one another, I am so incredibly proud to know that the US and the UK will always be there for one another. Brothers and Sisters in arms!
The peoples of the UK and US have each others backs. Most US politicians, however, like to dominate junior partners and throw their weight about.
Amen!! Forget politics… We Americans love our UK cousins and we support, love and respect you to the end!! 🇺🇸✨🇬🇧
There is very little about modern white America that isn’t British ,,, same as Australia , Canada … just names

Royal Marine Bands are worth their weight in gold, both as ambassadors for the services and for moral boosters on ships. I remember them entertaining us during replenishments at sea and putting on band concerts in the upper hangar while serving on HMS Ark Royal back in the 1977's.They really did make life onboard so much better.
Donsland I am a former Bootneck from way back in the 1960's. During my 10 years as a "Royal" I served two years on board a carrier- H.M.S. Centaur. As well as the Bootneck detachment we also had our own Bootneck band, permanently on board with us. They entertained the ships company in a similar way that you mentioned.
My favourite part of the band is the Corps of Drums, they are excellent.
I really enjoyed my service on the Centaur, plenty of great runs ashore
in exotic places, and the daily issue of rum of course.
Let's not forget how many medals these lads are wearing either. These are Combat Bandsmen who earned those gongs. Were you on the series the did way back then on Ark Royal? I loved that series - got me hooked when the openin was "Wish you were here". I was NZ army back then.
@@davesherry5384 I joined for the last two years so missed the filming of that series but they did come back and record the last band concert though.
@@davesherry5384 Some of the medals that the R.M. Band wear may be
former Queen's Jubilee medals, which are awarded to all serving U.K.military on the anniversary years of the Queen'Jubilee.
2022 is the Queen's platinum jubilee year so to mark this year in the Queen's life jubilee medals would have been issued to all serving U.K.military personnel. But they are not active service gongs.

First tune is Gibraltar, my favourite👍
Lovely to see, the best of British, nothing beats a Royal marine band.🇬🇧👏
Or indeed a Royal Marine
@@scottuk66 you said it
The capture of Gibraltar slightly predates the formation of the Corps - my family's involvement dates back to just slightly before then.

I feel so proud of our Royal Marines band. Its not been mentioned on tv that they were ever in New York, so thank you for showing this, its very uplifting for us as our country is in a complete mess at the moment.
Not the country, it’s our despicable government giving money to the rich and stealing it from the poor.
They are from HMS QE as HMS PoW couldn't make it.
So just like the states then?

My father was in the RMLI (Royal Marines Light Infantry) he always had tears in his eyes when the Royal Marine Band played..I miss you Dad
Please explain ,RMLI is a new one on me ,but Army so maybe not best informed.
Old ballet dancers cry too, seeing this dedication and quality.
Royal Marines in their Pith Helmets…..faaaantastic. !
My grandad was a Royal Marine in WW2 and I swear I can sense him smiling when I watch things like this.
Proud to be British !
My dad also served as a Marine in WW2 and very proud of it. Loved going to Beat Retreat whenever possible. I can still see the proud smile on his face whenever he heard them. God bless Dad ❤
Technically, they're actually Wolseley helmets, with a more pointed brim at the front. 'Pith helmet' is a more generic term because many similar hats were made of pith - the spongy parts of woody plants.
@@TheCatBilbo right sorry.
Well that’s what my grandad called them and he was one on D Day so I’ll probably just call them Pith Helmets if that’s ok with you
@@davecook3840 Don't apologise, mate - loads of people know them as Pith helmets. I don't comment to have a go at anyone, just to provide information that might be of interest.

Royal Marines done us proud as usual. Thank you from Northern Ireland. Sound been amazing in GCS.
My old band (RM Band Plymouth)! Lovely video! 5:28 B.L. certainly has a good time there!
Marching behind these guys is AWESOME!. They make you feel 20ft tall and I loved it every time. God Bless the Corps

Very lucky of you to be able to watch the Band of the Royal Marines perform outside of the UK!
nobody does it better
@REBECA GALBINSKI, I haven't actually seen the band although I was born in Plymouth ( not the one in Massachusetts but the original one here in England ) and my family has lots of ties to the Royal Marines.
My late brother-in-law was a 25 year veteran who served as a colour sergeant with them and then after he retired from there he went to work for the Sultan of Oman as his chief requisitions officer - that's how highly thought of he and the Royal Marines were by the Sultan; the Sultan even allowed him to continue wearing his Royal Marine's uniform rather than an Omani military uniform. in fact after he retired from his second job in Oman the Sultan personally rang him at home and asked / begged him to go back there and continue to work for him. He declined and stayed here in England until he died a couple of years ago at age 81 from a combination of Parkinson's disease and Altzheimer's.
Sad though that was I remember many years ago whenever I phoned to talk to my sister he was very militaristic and formal whenever he answered the phone and he used to scare the sh!t out of me with his abruptness. He was a kind soul whenever we went to visit them and he made a point of showing us films from all of their travels. The scariest of which was when he was stationed in Singapore and he took them to the snake temple which he obviously captured on film. Funnily enough I never actually saw him in uniform because all of the films that he shot were made when he was off duty and he was wearing his civvies.
To bring things up-to-date my other sister who still lives there has a granddaughter who's married to a major in the Royal Marines and he's primarily stationed at Devonport in Plymouth although with them spending a lot of their time overseas he could well be serving onboard a ship or stationed in some other country at the moment.
R.I.P. H.M. The Queen and God Save King Charles III. 👍😁👍🇬🇧🇺🇸

The Royal Marine Band really is that good. I got to see see them in London back in 2002, every bit as great to watch. Nice to see them visit. Really great video too!
Wish we in Britain could see more of our military bands, they seem to be hidden away & only come out on state occasions. The spectacular music we heard at our beloved late Queens funeral is a rare event. Here you have them open to the public in a park & railway station. Lucky you.
They're serving soldiers.
You can find them on UA-cam!
You cannot beat the Royal Marines Band!!
Hopefully, I get to see them on their next visit!!
Love their performance, without a doubt. But I prefer the massed band of the Household Cavalry, try playing that well on horseback. American here, by the way.
"Heart of Oak" wouldn't have gone amiss, lads...
I should imagine it sounded amazing in Grand Central, stunning place for a performance.

Thank you Rebeca. You let us see and hear them, which too few UA-camrs allow the audience to do. Even the small units sound marvelous. Of course we got to see several of their individual Bands during Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee and Funeral. Several units comprise HIS Majesty's Royal Marine Bands.
