The only song that has made me sad is Why Write a Letter that You'll Never Send by The Drones. And, uh, Doopee Time by the time it hits Now That You've Gone. It reduced me to tears, literally

The kind of sad music I like has changed a lot over time, but I’ve always had certain times when sad music was just what hit better. These days I be listening to angry music but every once in a while, the only right music is the sad stuff. I don’t know if it’s the catharsis of it or if it’s just having the negative emotions you feel be presented in a beautiful and artful way.

when it comes to sad, ive found that theres such a wide spectrum of "being sad" from sorrowful balads, to depressive black metal where someone is literally just screaming frantically, but it all leads to a cathartic effect, which feels really good also the comfort. tho my own listening habits with that is kinda messed up sometimes lol, I will listen to really sad music sometimes when im happy and really happy music when im sad idk. slow burn with wage war has been a very big go to for the last 2 months
I said this on Twitter before seeing this video: My songs aren't supposed to be relatable, they're supposed to tell a story, the only time they're relatable is when it applies to rare groups of people, my music isn't for the masses. I probably have made songs that the majority of people can relate to, or those "vague" songs that ANYONE can relate to, but I think they're not common, my songs are TOO SPECIFIC in lyrics, it relates to my life, kinda like Wesley Willis in a way.

A lot of what i notice these days is sad lyrics covered up by the upbeat instrumental ,nothing wrong with it. But i think its easy to look over when ur just listening to the song vs actually hearing it.

I think why sad music is more accessible is because it sells more and it gets more attention from people than up-beat songs.

Idk I think it’s a emotional connection but at the same time I like bands like megadeth or tool, gorjia but I will say I have connected to the song parabola by tool due to the subject of the song about how am, I here why am I here and I should enjoy the the time I am here
