One of the things I really like about Colonist is all the stats they give you. It has changed my outlook slightly on what's important. I seldom see someone with the most resource generation lose a game. It has made me focus more on getting high producing numbers even if they are not covering all resources.
currently watching and i'm at 15:00.... I thought Alchemist's decision to go 2-5-9 was a solid defensive strategy, but I wondered whether taking 5-9-10 and having 3 houses on the brick port would work. Whenever a 10 is rolled, alchemist gets 3 brick and thats basically a brick + whatever they want. Very interesting
@@Treeckosaurus I agree. 3:1 ports allow you to become more flexible. Do you think in hindsight, alchemist should have taken 5-9-10 and use the free road to expedite their path to production?
I think his production wasn't the problem, but he did have an overwhelming wood in comparison to brick-ratio. I guess the 5/9/10 could have helped him with this.
Thanks for the upload. spoiler: . . . I didn't get why djz5 didn´t cut the connection with one road (maybe table talking for a trade to do it if necessary) neither why alchemist didn't grab the brick port away from him.
I believe it has to do with the tournament system. They all knew that [the player who won], was going to win, so they started playing for their own point total.
@brujua I definitely should have but here is why I didn't. That road was a dead road for me and being an OWS player I didn't want to waste roads. However I think I could have talked better with the other players to get the resources to compensate for me building a dead road. Looking back I also think I should have taken the 6-4-2 or 6-4-3 because then I can block the 9 wood all game and trade wood to help set myself up. Also the only point where I played for the "tournament" is the knight and settlement when the game was clearly over.
Spoiler: Love this game. Its like on 20 minutes mark comentators saying "I dont understand blues decisions about placements" My thoughts: "Everyone can win except blue." 1 hour and like milion 9´s later: "Easy win for blue, noone can stop him."

I think that's a conclusion that will help you win more games
I won a game where I produced the least out of the 4 players... so it's not the only thing
Hey treeck, I think you need to invest into a good microphone. Your audio always sounds very muffled compared to other players and commentators.
Hey Ravi! I did, you can't hear it with the current yet, but I agree with you

Hey Austin! Possibly! It does create a great blocking target, which is usually why relying on 2:1 works less well than relying on 3:1 ports.
