Saint Vitus and The Obsessed for sure . I had a fondness for a band called Warhorse on the doom front of things . And I am not sure if you could throw all of the next band's work im about to mention here , but CLUTCH ! They have there moments in this genre at least !
Fu Manchu, sHeavy, Orange Goblin and Monster Magnet's 'Dopes to Infinity' are notable absences from this list. Melvins as well maybe....i dunno

I agree with you, the more I dig in the genre the more I come to realise Kyuss covers it all and better than anyone.

No one has mentioned my favorite stoner band, Windhand. Well, my favorite along with Electric Wizard.
My favorites include Saint Vitus, Monster Magnet, Kyuss, Earthless and Sleep. Spine of God is such a great album!

Check out the early stuff from an American band called corrosion of conformity , pepper Keenan ( guitarist in down ) is the singer and guitarist .
Acid bath were pretty hard to put into one specific genre but I feel they were pretty influential

I don't know much stoner rock but my two favourites are California Crossing by Fu Manchu and Powertrip by Monster Magnet.
Good video, I would recommend Acid King- Busse Woods, Orange Goblin-Time Travelling Blues, and Cathedral-The Ethereal Mirror.

No modern Stoner Rock list is complete without mentioning Elephant Tree. They only have a few albums, but they're all bangers. They haven't released a bad track. Modern kings of Stoner Psyche.

CoC - Deliverance, Down - NOLA or Over The Under, The Sword - Warp Riders and Age of Winters, Uncle Acid - Blood Lust, Trouble - Psalm 9, Cathedral - The Ethereal Mirror, Elder - Reflections of a Floating World, The Obsessed - The Church Within, Green Lung - Woodland Rites. A lot of those are more to the metal side of things but I think they fit as much as Electric Wizard and Kyuss.
Bongzilla, All them witches, The Swell Fellas, Bantha Rider and Bong Ripper are a few more worth the listen

Farflung A Wound in Eternity, Spaceslug Lemanis and Weedpecker III are good albums to add to this list.

Interesting! This is giving away my age a bit, but when I think of Stoner Rock I think of Camper Van Beethoven, Phish and maybe Blues Traveller. I never realized there is a whole sub-genre of Stoner Rock that comes from the Metal branch of the family tree. Interesting...but we are smoking very different kinds of weed.😜

Should check out what Sweden has to offer - namely Truckfighters (They fight trucks!) and Dozer. Then there's 1000mods from Greece or even Thumlock from Australia. All good shit!

Excellent video. I grew up listening to Saint Vitus, Pentagram, Internal Void, etc, but being a Jersey boy, Monster Magnet was the first band I can say brought a truly original take on this subgenre. I bought the s/t CD (it was B4 Spine of God came out) at Vintage Vinyl----and that my doomy friends, is where the re-incarnation of all of this began. Lastly, why why why must everyone use the term "stoner rock" or "stoner metal"? It's theeeeee dumbest name ever, don't you think? If intelligent people stop using the term, maybe it''ll just go away.

Well, again, it’s kind of like a lot of other things. When you see/hear, you’ll know. I think of The Growlers song Sea Lion Goth Blues as an example of this genre.
Of course, in terms of songs, also include Bananarama’s Cruel Summer, and STP’s Big Bang Baby as Stoner Rock Mainstream Crossovers…

I hate the term "stoner rock". I have no interest in drugs but this stuff is both awesome to listen to and play on guitar. Implying you need drugs as well to like it just cheapens it. It's like saying you have a girlfriend who's prettiest when you're drunk.
