The amount of start up capital he had was only enough for me to buy a Ford Cortina as I did in England that year. I remember the photo of Deng Xiaoping sticking up a finger to signal 1 million PLA soldiers to be made redundant soon after the Vietnam skirmish. If Mr. Ren was among the million, then thank you Mr Deng for making Ren redundant to give us 5G today.
