    EAT THAT MARK SHERMAN! LOL!

    Why'd they leave such a big gap in the radio. I get it they want to keep it looking full size but hell now a days radios are getting smaller. I like my quad6 and Lincoln II small size but got some punch.

      Because the cabinet is already made to those dimensions.. it would mean retooling to change it.

    Didn't they change the way to do the 11m conversion? Now you just snip one wire.

      At the moment but I honestly don't think that's going to hold.

    Do these radios have an echo board in them? And if so can the boards go bad?

    • @Mark19960
      @Mark19960  10 місяців тому

      they don't have an "echo board" per se. It's built into the radio. You don't need an echo board.

    So there is no difference in performance, just cosmetic?

    So... You're saying the ole Sand Jawa, standing out in the desert at night with his bon fire... is full of it? The ancient Indian spirit "Runs With Soldering Iron", that he sees in the flames... has lied? Is it possible that he's just on a bad trip from some tainted stuff from a local dispensary and he's been talking to Mofo the whole time?

      Wondering your reference and meaning? Curious

      @@rodlink6258 Well, the great Sand Jawa is that little desert dweller, Sherman. Legend has it that he gets all his secrets from the spirits of ancient Indian CB techs. It's been said that his beloved is "Runs With Soldering Iron", he speaks to him from the flames of the bonfire that Sherman builds out in the desert late at night. Seems that ole Runs With Soldering Iron told Sherman that the recently released 955V2 was prototypes and this video just clearly stated they weren't, gave the example of a prototype too. It's possible though, the entire legend is a lie and Sherman is tripping on some bad weed, like in Road Trip. Except Mofo hasn't been asking for blueberry pancakes, he's been feeding Sherman BS about the new 955's and sitting back and doggy laughing bout it. #savemofo

    Lots of empty real estate in that chassis. I guess people will stuff in amps and other toys.

    • @Mark19960
      @Mark19960  2 роки тому

      It's a 60+ watt radio as it is. Not sure you could fit an amp in there that would not get overdriven and destroyed, and if it worked put out the same power the radio does now.

    Why did you not show the bottom of those radios?

    • @Mark19960
      @Mark19960  2 роки тому

      Because there is nothing there but a DC power switch in the first run. It's uninteresting.

    Lol exactly

  • @taft2422
    @taft2422 2 роки тому

    What do you say about the part on the bottom?
    Some people say that it means its a "prototype"

    • @Mark19960
      @Mark19960  2 роки тому +1

      I guess evey radio that ever had a mod was a "prototype" then.
      Including the last revision of 955 v1 that was sent out. Those had a mod done to the first RX mixer, and a few other places......
      But unless someone actually looked they would not have noticed that.
      Isn't that just a little funny? After all, these guys are doing "fine tunes" to the receiver.
      How did they miss the two jfets that were bodged in?
      I guess it was a prototype! Let them believe what they want. They do not know what they are talking about.
      I feel sorry for the people that believe them.

      @@Mark19960 Do you ever find it laughable when anyone tries to reference something Mark Sherman said and immediately dozens of people jump on them accusing them of being a Mark Sherman supporter? Yes Mark may have used the word prototype when he should have said revision (some number) and maybe him telling people to send back the revision that has components hand soldered to the bottom of the main board was dumb ( I’ll let others be the judge). Another thing I personally find very funny is if anyone expresses an idea everyone immediately thinks they are unlearned and a dummy that needs educating no matter how many years they may have in the trade or their education level in electronics/RF.

      @@jjs8008 In the case of Mark, he does it deliberately. It's not an idea.. it's just him waging war against the company he buys radios from.
      The only silver lining is that only a small number of people take him seriously. I won't watch anything he puts up.... it's cringe.
      He attacks me on a daily basis... I don't care.
