This video is a life-saver in case you buy this model without knowing the details and without box and instruction. The tricky thing is that the reverser also changes the active pickup-shoe which means that the model only runs correctly when both end-units are properly connected. The motor-unit on it's own will only run in one direction. Awesome video 👍👍👍🙋♂🙋♂Best regards, Andreas
These disassembly videos are a service to the community, as I have a later version of this model that will certainly need attention before running again, and this is very helpful. There is also, of course, the nostalgia for the boxes and the set. I bought mine as a young adult....I always admired the model as a child but had to wait until I could get one of my own. Thanks for creating this.
Thank you for the very detailed video of how we disassembly the engine wagon. Do you know how we can put lights at the 4071 wagon? I tried to do it with the 7329 light set of Marklin and I adjusted it to the ready made metal poles of the wagon, but the wiring is tricky. When I connect them as the middle wagon of the set, then the train stops moving and seems "dead" like making a short circuit. Can you help? Thank you very much. You are very helpful with your high detailed videos you make. And also lot of fan. Greetings from Greece. Nikos

Glad this is of use to someone, many thanks for spending some of your valuable time on the channel 🙏
Another great video. Your 3071 is in much better condition than mine. The addition of the 4071 car, really adds substance and makes it a real train!
Thanks 👍
So pleased to see that you are being very careful not put fingers all over the model, - like most owners gladly do !
thanks

Thanks for your praises. I never looked into installing lighting I am afraid, so I wouldn't be able to help in this case.
