After long time saw the Engineer taking close interest in detail servicing. Thanks to the Engineer who has taken time in servicing your Himalayan. Nice video and informative. Keep it up Cheers.
I love these bikes. So incredibly easy to maintain however I do my own maintenance and this video is exactly why. Oil spilled in the skid plate, and not a single torque wrench was used.
i do my own servicing too on my 2021 Himalayan..my warranty is now gone, but for what i paid new , it is half the price of a second hand big brand name 👍 They are so well built and so easy to do the valve clearance, why pay a dealer £140 for a service when you can do it yourself for under £30. I had neve ever done a valve clearance check in 32yrs of riding bikes , i just went to my dealer and got robbed..all i can say is watch a youtube vid and take the chance and do it yourself, it is very easy to do , my valves were so tight it was unreal, did they actually get checked on the first service? (intake 0.08mm - 0.10mm, exhaust is 0.23mm - 0.25mm) now i know they are right, it runs a lot smoother and starts first time without stalling 😁
Ye'h I noticed that! However, I never used such items at home for routine servicing, but you would think they would at the dealer, and that bash plate should have been removed.
I don't get to crazy torqueing M5s but everything else yes and the oil spillage is avoidable. I am assuming they pressure wash it when done? Also, I know some mechanics are good but I was never good enough to check valves by ear. LOL Did I mention I was a factory trained Kawasaki and Yamaha mechanic in the 80s? :-)
Most of my 'serious' riding was in the 1950s when bikes were still 'basic' Maintenance and servicing was pretty much similat to what is bdone on this bike. You can do everything at the side of the road if need be, just like the old days. Really this bike is fairly unchanged from those day apart from disc brakes, fuel injection which is a major improvement from the old Amal carburettors and of course tyres and suspension are much improved. I like the monoshock at the rear, that can be upgraded fairly easily. It is worth upgrading the steerinf head bearinf=gs with tapers instead of ball bearingsas they wear fairly quickly
Hi John! Only in hindsight I could realise I need a microphone. The original audio is way too noisy, no noise reduction could help it. Won't be the case in upcoming videos. Anyway, thanks a lot for your interest! Healthy criticism is always appreciated.
Nice vid, but the way the oil ran into the bash / belly plate kinda shocked me. A lot of cleaning up to do, especially if you dont want the oil residue to catch fire if you dont clean it up. Maybe they should re-design that part of the casing?
good video 👍 exclude the music it is too loud and disturbing. instead talk to the technician in between and zoom in when he is working and keep telling what he is doing.
Thanks for the such a detail servicing video of Himalayan...it could be more informative if we hear all the voice of the engineer what he speak during the servicing..by the way it's a very helpful video for upcoming Himalayan riders like me... it's my dream bike ❤️❤️..and a request to you that please continue this series with the next services of Himalayan...thank you so much for this video ❤️❤️
Old Oil not remove properly and use electrical pliers to remove oil cap .. check karo cap ke uper scratches aye honge 😀.. and oil filter lagane ke pahile use oil me dala jata he..
I'm not going to point out the problems with this video. Instead, I'll remark upon how it illustrates WHAT is being done as opposed to HOW it's being done. It illustrates, quite well, what needs to be done in order to maintain the motorcycle. Beyond that, it illustrates how incredibly old school, zombie apocalypse, this motorbike is. It reminds me of when I first started riding, when motorcycles were machines and not computers. This appears to be a fully user serviceable motorbike.
Air filter cannot be blown. Because impurities enter the filter element. The correct thing is to knock it lightly for the dirt to come out or to replace it. Here in Brazil 🇧🇷 Honda does not recommend blowing the air filter.
Or even better: Just replace the air filter with a new one. Pointing compressed air at an air filter could cause the filter material be punctured by the high compression of the air pointed at it.
Looked to me like the air scoop on the cover directed the air flow to the inside of the filter, so all the debris would be caught on the inside of the filter. So from what I saw, blowing air from the outside to dislodge the dust was the proper procedure.
1032 for first free service... Damn that's really high. I wonder what would be the cost after free services. Cus that's when the real stuff will kick in. It would also include required part upgrades like breakpads, cables, oil filters and few more. And as far as I know just the accelerator cable would cost around ₹600-700.
Baut sahi video bhai …it ll help me after i take my first service to check whether all is good or not..that service is correctly done r not..thanks bro👍🏻 keep going.
I believe that the transmission chain adjustment was not done according to the motorcycle's instruction manual. In the video, it appears that the chain is stretched outside the parameters suggested by the manufacturer.
The filter didn't need changing and I don't think there's any harm in cleaning it but it would be better to use a vacuum and in the case of the oil change, use something, reusable to direct the oil and make the process cleaner and cheaper, negating excess cleanup and keeping the mechanics health uppermost.
Hi! Thanks for the interest bro. Actually, this is my first vlog and I didn't quite know the importance of a microphone. The result, I had a good video with a lot of noise. That's why I had to put the music and keep the original audio only wherever required.
@@LivingitupwithAditya I am sorry, I am correcting my wording, sorry again I did not mean to hurt you anyways. congrats for your first vlog, very information though, both you and the service engineer are calmly covering the useful info that many users are in need of, just that the music was cutting short some valuable information. congrats again bro, enjoy your ride and drive safe!!! tc
All RE mechanics leaves the chain too tight WIth less than 10mm of sag. I had to make them increase the chain sag every time. They also try to skip battery checking or top up. General inspection if all bolts are tight or not, brake and clutch cables, etc., are also skipped. I had brake failure because they forgot the brake reservoir diaphragm gaskets and lost the brake pedal pins.
Air filters should not be blown. You leave it or change it. Torque wrench must be used. Chain should be more lose. Clean chain before spray it. The clutch adjustment is the only correct handling I ve seen.
