The most expensive one is the violin even if some people around the globe can afford them. Not to mention that there are people who buy a 60.000€ violin not a Strad. It remains quite expensive I think.
I have a question for all the violin players. Was it hard to get started? Is it hard to memorize all the notes? Was it hard to play? Do you cut yourself cut while playing? And is it a good idea to start practicing with violin as soon as possible when you want to (like in school what I’m saying is should I start the orchestra classes when I want to learn). Edit: wow u guys rlly blew up the like button o-o I didn’t know asking questions would be entertaining
Well it is a hard instrument and yes it was hard to memorize notes but you just need to practice :D also no we do not cut ourselves when we play. For school I started in fifth grade but that’s for where I live it might be different in other places.
Well, it is kinda hard to start, but once you get the basics you'll get exponentially better if you practice. Let's say about 1-4 hours? I do about 2-4. Memorizing the notes are not that hard as long as you practice since the muscle memory will soon set in while you practice. It isn't that hard to play as long as you don't throw something WAY off your level. Also, by cut, sometimes my hands get a bit uhhh... sore after playing the violin for more than 2 hours straight. And yes, it is a good idea to start practicing as soon as possible when you WANT TO. Remember, practice if you want to, forcing yourself will not help you as much as playing the violin with that want.
Actually number 9 was very informative! I was always wondering about that because I’d sometimes see those little Notations in music books but didn’t know what it stood for. Thank you for this!
I highly recommend you one of their other videos called "All violin techniques ranked in difficulty", where they demonstrate each one of them, it's very well done. :-)

So glad Brett recommended physio as the treatment of choice! Definitely an issue to play an asymmetrical instrument: I had to stop playing the flute because of the pain it caused. Doesn't help to have a connective tissue disorder that makes joint subluxations and dislocations highly likely, either.
When violin = yoga Tru tho one of the reasons I hated playing violin is cus my violin is slightly too big for me (I should be playing a 7/8 violin but ain't nobody got money for dat) and so my left hand will cry whenever I try to hold down two notes in drastically different places. My left hand is ok now. I also don't play the violin anymore.
No, no, the stringed instruments are more expensive. To play an arrangement of anything 1 pianist can play with 1 piano, you need like 5 to 10 musicians, one piece of primitive wooden junk each. And a conductor. And lots of space and time for rehearsing. Expensive. AND 2 people can share 1 piano for a 4 hands piece. Imagine the orchestra equivalent.
Yes, for 5 to 10 violin it's more expensive, but here they were talking about *one* violin, and for a beginner violin that does not sound like a viola you need to spend at least 500$ I'd say. For a piano, it's at least 1500$ and if you buy one at this price it will sound like if you buy a 200$ violin.

I have to admit: I've taken piano lessons for 8 years (piano is my primary instrument) violin for 7 (picking up the violin again after many years of hiatus) and it's a fact that violin is so awkward to start. Just getting the right tone, bowing, spacing on the fret board, octaves, chords, left hand pizzicato, the insane amount of techniques for the instrument! so hard to do! 😂😂😂 Piano, on the other hand, is easy to start, the most common percussion instrument introduced to everyone! very geometric in layout, but it is also --- hard as f+ to master. With clean pedaling, octaves, tenths, thirds! (ugh!) coordinating two hands and sometimes different rhythms (two against three, three against four, etc), voicings. Piano is its own beast, too. @D’Ari Wallace I have been playing for about six years, but I had braces for three of those years and also I'm lazy and a professional time waster, so I am not as good as I should be after six years of this. I have played for three hours straight a couple of times, once when I somehow managed to have three rehearsals in a row (how the fuck did this happen?) and a couple when there was a concert the next day, I panicked because I was first trumpet and had quite a lot of solos and skipped classes to practise.
I have been a violinist for 6 years and I remember how hard it was to make a sound when I was a beginner. I think one of the biggest reasons why it is the hardest instrument is that you have to focus on tons of different things at once. I'm an intermediate violinist now but boy it was hard when I was a beginner.
I think the key is to have your brain and fingers get integrated. So you think "I want THAT note" and your hands produce that note. You don't have to think about what they do or how.
On piano you have to think of many different things, different rhythms in right and left hand, while using your feet as well. I am not saying violin isn't hard, im just saying that you point is not that good if you compare violin to piano.
I just started playing the violin today, and honestly number 3 explained so much 😆It is a WHOLE different world from piano! Not that I expected anything less lol.

Kinda

@@mafuyuwastaken2844 practice open string exercises more. Your right arm needs to know what elevation to strike the strings and this is done with muscle memory. Otherwise it will hit two strings at once and prosuce the dreaded squweak or drone. Play in front of a mirror to help see your posture. The bow needs to be perpendicular to the strings. If its not, it'll slide to or from the bridge also changing the sound or volume

Usually I just play around an hour in twenty minute batches, resting for about ten in between.
