You can also buy a battery which from what I've read can last upwards to 9 hours. you don't need a power generator as this unit can also plug into your cigarette lighter or run directly off a solar panel. With the battery and solar panel should retain temps throughout the night.
I saw those batteries. That would be good for a day trip to the beach or a BBQ at a park. Depending if you're using both sides as a freezer and how hot it is where you are. We take ours on our overlanding trips where we're off the grid for a couple of days. Either way, they don't include it(at least when we bought ours) and I remember I couldn't find those on Amazon at all and they were sold out on their own site at the time of us buying this fridge.
I can't get anyone at bougerv to answer either of the two customer service phone numbers listed on their website.
I even sent emails requesting a valid customer service phone number as I need assistance choosing cables/connectors/adapters for system I purchased from them (power station, dual fridge, fridge battery, 2-100 watt portable solar panels).
Have you actually spoken with anyone at bougerv?
If so, how?
Luckily my wife and I haven't had issues with ours so we haven't needed to contact customer service but they do have a facebook page they included with the fridge we got that's pretty much a forum page that other owners go to for advice or help on with the fridge. All of the cables you need should have been included with the fridge you got. They include the DC adapter for your car and the AC outlet for your house. In terms of the power station, you can use any power station and solar panels from whatever company. It doesn't have to be from them. Hopefully this helps!
That doesn't have the option to add a battery bank in it
This one actually does but it only last 4-6 hours. That's good enough for a beach day but I have my huge portable power station that keeps it on for a couple of days at a time. So I didn't bother getting the battery for it.
I normally have 2x100w solar panels on top of my Subaru crosstrek powering bluetti ac200max that kept my iceco 55qt but over this past winter we started using the iceco has a second fridge in the house plus the ice wasn't duel zone so I just ordered the bouge rv 37qt with the battery and cover and I'm not really happy keeping the bluetti on job sites so I'm going with the ecoflow river 2 pro but I was hoping you had experience with the battery pack because the river pro is only 750w or so and if it's a cloudy day I was wondering how long the battery might back everything up
@roberterickson6331 in my experience, our 540wH smaller power station usually kept the fridge on for 1-2 days. My Bluetti AC200P with a 2000wH battery capacity kept my portable fridge on for about 5-7 days. We also found out that depending on the weather will determine how long your battery would last. In the summer with temperatures reaching close to 100 degrees, my fridge was running more often to keep things cold and that killed my smaller power station in 8-10 hours while camping in the winter with the fridge not having to work so hard to keep things cold, that same smaller power station lasted 2+ days. Also using the portable fridge as just a fridge vs using it as a freezer also affected the battery life. In my case, i knew the battery pack would be useless because of how small the capacity is on it for what we use our fridge for.
