    I picked up this fridge a couple weeks ago and paired it with an EB70S.
    I ran it on MAX the entire trip. It effectively cooled down room tem bevvies (24 pack) in about 3 to 5 hours and never got above 46 watts while running. Great fridge thus far. I ran it for 2 days
    ights of camping and it hardly dented the Bluetti's battery compliment. Time will tell on its build quality, but so far I'm quite impressed. The current model also has a drain plug making defrosting much easier too.

      Don't be critical. Either you need this product or you don't. Not everything is made with German or Japanese engineering. That niche market allows people like me to afford deluxe off brand imitations of previously mentioned products which although are less than perfect they indeed meet my price point and most importantly ROI goals.

    Welcome back Professor Hobo, we've missed you!!
    This looks like it would be a great replacement for the Dometic refrigerator in my new (old) RV. Definitely cheaper than replacing the refrigerator and would make a viable solution should it fail in the future. This is a brand I trust (like you said in the video) so even with a wobbly lid, I still think it is a quality product. Thanks for the review!

  • @sferg9582
    @sferg9582 4 роки тому +1

    Too bad the lid doesn't hinge on the long-side. Hinged on the short side means the lid requires that much more space above to fully open it, making it hard to use in some cramped spaces.

    As far as the lid goes it doesnt matter. You can leave open an cold air will mostly remain in the tub unless moved by air flow. Otherwise cold falls. Love the details and how complete review is.
    I suspect that when full of already cold items it will maintain temp right away. His time test is the max empty volme . Like any freezer the less space to maintain the least energy used. Like the unit for the price and thanks

      I really like the ICECO fridges. The iCooler (JP42) I used all summer outside and it worked great. It has one huge compartment we could fit a large pizza in. It's not yet for sale and it doesn't have a built in light. The JP40 I ran for a month so far is very nice. It has the 5 year warranty and comes in a 53qt. It's expensive but I do have a discount for it. That's probably what I'd recommend for best build quality and it comes with a cover. However, this BougeRV is nice for the price. It is hard to find a good $300 12v fridge nowadays. Depends on what you want in the end.

    When I use a 12v fridge like the ICECO GO20, I do not waste battery power getting it down to the temperature I want. I plug it into the wall the night before the trip and the next day I simply load it up and head out. When driving, I again do not waste battery - I power it off the car and then use a Jackery or Ecoflow when at a campground or Cracker Barrel if there is no shore power.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman 4 роки тому +1

      Timothy Mckee On a road trip with a lot of driving hours, I might stop and eat dinner and then sleep overnight in the parking lot. Cracker Barrel allows folks with an RV or camping trailer like my Runaway Camper to stay overnight. Better and safer than a Walmart.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman 4 роки тому +3

      @Timothy Mckee Most Cabelas are ok with it too. More and more Walmarts are not allowing because of some bad actors out there. Some use Pilot and other truck stops, but they are too noisy. Highway rest areas are not always safe - people come up and beg for gas money and then there is the occasional serial killer! : )

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman 4 роки тому

      @Timothy Mckee I am quite sure that would not work. Maybe at a hospital if you had a family member being treated but you would need to ask permission and where best to park. When we drive to Colorado from Indiana we use the rest areas in Kansas on I70. Most have a loop of to the side specifically for RVs and campers to park for the night. We use them on every trip out there. btw - I do videos about my Runaway camper, some product reviews like Ecoflow (my favorite lithium), ICECO and a few others. Starting a 4-6 month Ford Transit van conversion series on my channel next month.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman 4 роки тому

      @Timothy Mckee That seems to be the $1 million question I am getting. We are keeping the Runaway and will use it as an always-set-up comfy bedroom. We are taking out the cushions we had made - they will go on the sofas in the Transit - and getting a queen for the Runaway. The vast majority of trips we will be towing the Runaway, but now and then and if I did a solo filming trip out West then I would just take the Transit. Filming my announcement video later this week about the van-build series and episode #1 the next week.

    Hey Perfesser! Great videos.Very informative and entertaining. I am trying to find about a 50+ Liter Dual zone fridge/freezer with separate lids for each compartment And with wheels and pull handle. The major brands including Iceco seem to offer only a single lid on their wheeled units. In fact I can't any Dometic at all with wheels. Lesser known brands seem to offer this (such as Newair, or F40C4TMP) . A request: Could we prevail upon you to review some of these units?

      Many refrigarators have low values of insulation or none , just the plastic that the units are made from . Maybe one can add some insulation to these units

    • @josephdebes3060

    THIS. but less wobbly and more hatchback-trunk-friendly sized, and therefore smaller compressor, smaller power draw, would be AMAZING coupled with a Ravpower 252Wh. if this behemoth needed just 266Wh for a full day's work, a smaller model would also leave power for phones and other small toys, then you could top it up overnight in the car. cool review, thanks!

    Good video these fridge/freezers are awesome.
    I have the 52qt extreme power with the compressor in the top right corner. It has a blue tooth app and a usb charging port. I really like it. I use it in my 5th wheel to keep our drinks and in so it keeps the kids out of the big fridge. The lid on mine has a gasket and is a tight fit with no latch to break. Handles are molded in and it has wheels and a collapsing handle. It has been plugged in now for 4 months 24/7 and hasn’t missed a beat. I thinks it’s a little louder now but not bad.
    Well worth the @299 I paid for it.
