  • My stove hadn't worked for several years. Several companies had failed to repair it. The last one told me the exhaust fan was not operating right and the fan couldn't be replaced because the company closed and no other fans were compatible. Based on this I almost had the stove taken out, but I decided to make one last effort to fix it.
Yes, we had this stove cleaned regularly by "professionals", and apparently none had ever cleaned out the fly ash compartment nor the channels on each side of the firebox that lead to that compartment. I got a refund from the last company after I fixed it.
For those wishing additional photos of the interior, and of helpful manual pages, I have posted it on my Facebook page which is under the name "Elle Snyder" on Dec 10, 2022.

Hey Elle I just bought a house with the same stove. Might be a dumb question but do you light yours or does it have a heating rod in it that lights it?

Hi- Mine does not have an ignitor. I buy a bag of starter that is treated wood shavings. I put a small bit of pellets in the firepot, a small amount of starter shavings, more pellets, some more shavings and light it. You turn the stove on and push the start button and as it heats up the thermostat will trigger the room fan to kick on. I prefer the treated shavings starter to the gel.

@@ellesnyder942 Elle, you were literally more help than the "professional" I had come over yesterday. Charged me 100 bucks to tell me he didn't know what to do. Thank you so much for this video. I couldn't find much info on this stove at all. Now it's working great and I couldn't be happier. Thank you again!!!

@@jacobburke2506 I'm glad to have helped. You can't imagine how much I spent onalleged pro's who 1: never fully cleaned the unit 2: mis-diagnosed the problem, almost causing me to replace it unnecessarily. I suggest you request your money back (as I did) from the last pro who couldn't tell you how to start your stove. If he refuses, threaten a complaint to your state attorney General's office, and a negative internet review.

@@jacobburke2506 I have one more bit of information that may be helpful to you at some point. If you find that no matter how you adjust the knobs you end up with too many pellets to the point they overflow the fire pot- read on.
Both the room fan and the flame adjustment knobs will have an effect on the rate the auger feeds the pellets. If all adjustments fail to help, there is a place to adjust the rate of feed. When facing the unit, open the panel on the right side (where your adjustment knobs etc are located. On the inside of that panel, on the backside of where all those knobs are is the pc board. On that board, in the lower left corner, is a round thing with some numbers on it and a wedge shaped section in silver (the rest is black.) If you turn it counter clockwise it will slow the feed down, if you turn it clockwise it will speed it up. I slowed mine from about a 4 o'clock position to a 2.5 position. I am just now testing it out and it seems to be helping. NOTE: When i got my fan repaired he used a larger capacitor so mine may have speeded up causing that issue but all the same, it's good to know you can slow it or speed it up if necessary. This adjustment is made at the factory.

Does yours have a scrapper tool? If so where does it attach? Bought a house with one and can’t find any information on this.

I will post a picture later yes it has a scraper tool that the end of it attaches to a long rod and You use it to clean the compartment behind the firebox and that opening to that compartment is hidden behind a plate On the left side of the stove when you look at it from the front.

@@ellesnyder942 Thank you, any pictures you could share of that or the channels that you reference that need to be cleaned would really help me out. Bought a house and inherited one of these stoves and trying to understand how it works and how to take care of it. Thank you again!

@@ellesnyder942 Also, one followup question to my others is where should the top baffles be when the stove is burning because it has some guides but the previous owner put them to the middle to protect the middle tubes but that doesn’t seem right. Any picture of this would help.
