You're doing what you can. I do grocery shopping/wipe them down for my grandma while my dad can be in closer contact. The isolation is mentally crippling for me...but I trying to keep them safe while I have a better chance of survival.

Reporters here in my city Kolkata, they wear full PPE gear and report from near hospitals. And the govt says there is lack of adequate PPE for doctors.
A lot of people need to realize moments like this is why it’s important to always stay prepared. It doesn’t take much for life as we know it to turn for the worst.

I'm American. I'm not sure who pays for the quarantined. It's probably usually the same for every hospital visit. Your insurance pays and you pay the deductible. If you don't have insurance, the hospital give you a big bill. You pay until you pay it off or you go into debt or bankrupt.
Everyone helping out one another in any way they can is really beautiful. My heart breaks for that woman that lost her dad. Thank you first responders. I can’t help but cry when I hear their stories.

my father was hospitalized in Mount Sinai hospital in Astoria, queens but eventually, the hospital collapsed because of a lack of supplies. My mother wasn't allowed to go into the hospital so my dad was in there alone and had trouble breathing because there wasn't enough ventilators everywhere. Eventually, my dad got transferred to Central Park where there are tents for people who contracted corona and he was there for about 3 days. Again alone. He's better now and back home but looking back at this virus we have never been more separated yet closer and it's such a severe event what we're going through and we all have to do our part. My eternal respect goes out to the first responders and everyone who has contributed to the frontlines. Take care

Those are largely medical professionals, firefighters, and police officers. The only other reason people wouldn't maintain distance is bc they already share a space i.e. are family. I live three blocks from Mt. Sinai hospital.
I live in Manhattan. The racial disparity in deaths is because 1) Those communities are chronically unhealthy. They choose to eat poorly and not take care of their bodies. 2) Those communities do not follow recommendations. In late March I still saw groups of hispanic people at parks playing soccer, volleyball, and having BBQs. They were hugging each other and didn't have any PPE on. Take personal responsibility and stop acting like victims of society.
The ICU nurse is the real hero. The Woman that just lost her Dad is the real hero. They are young and could walk away from danger and yet they continue to stand in the front lines to save others. WOW if that doesn't move you you are not Human.

Usually the person quarentened or their insurance. Idk how NY is doing it I'm not from there,but that's how it usually goes.
I'm American. I'm not sure who pays for the quarantined. It's probably usually the same for every hospital visit. Your insurance pays and you pay the deductible. If you don't have insurance, the hospital give you a big bill. You pay until you pay it off or you go into debt or bankrupt.

my father was hospitalized in Mount Sinai hospital in Astoria, queens but eventually, the hospital collapsed because of a lack of supplies. My mother wasn't allowed to go into the hospital so my dad was in there alone and had trouble breathing because there wasn't enough ventilators everywhere. Eventually, my dad got transferred to Central Park where there are tents for people who contracted corona and he was there for about 3 days. Again alone. He's better now and back home but looking back at this virus we have never been more separated yet closer and it's such a severe event what we're going through and we all have to do our part. My eternal respect goes out to the first responders and everyone who has contributed to the frontlines. Take care

Those are largely medical professionals, firefighters, and police officers. The only other reason people wouldn't maintain distance is bc they already share a space i.e. are family. I live three blocks from Mt. Sinai hospital.

I live in Manhattan. The racial disparity in deaths is because 1) Those communities are chronically unhealthy. They choose to eat poorly and not take care of their bodies. 2) Those communities do not follow recommendations. In late March I still saw groups of hispanic people at parks playing soccer, volleyball, and having BBQs. They were hugging each other and didn't have any PPE on.
