The trial and errors don’t deter from the video. It makes it more human. More accessible. And the contrast of the wrong notes in comparison to the right notes when you find them helps tremendously. This is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this channel.
Your live dissection of songs is much appreciated. Every time I see someone going after you about a mistake I have to remind myself to not argue with strangers on the Internet. Keep up the great work.
If you get a chance, see these guys. I saw them for the first time with David Ryan Harris live in DC at 930 Club a couple weeks ago. Holy cow… the energy and the musicianship were incredible. It had this vibe of a wedding or party (the covers of familiar songs and the party vibe in the audience and on stage) but with A+ talent. One of the tightest bands I’ve ever seen. Knockout serious musicians who don’t take themselves too seriously. So so so good.
I got to see Johanna years ago at the stone celler in (I believe) Ellicott city here in Maryland. Kelly Bell band was the closer that night. A few other bands whose names I don't recall but I remember a great show and definitely remember Johanna. I bought a cd and played the heck out of it until someone decided they needed it more than me.
Every time I see you reacting those videos, I literally jump on my accoustic guitar with the full energy you gave me. You know what, i dream to buy me an electric guitar just because it seems so easy to play with and it's so cool to see you diving in the music with all that passion.
Way cool version. That Joe has got to be one of the best at the guitar. Never heard of this scarey pockets group. Gonna check out further. Lead singer Jones had a very smooth voice.
Have you heard “bitter ending” or the scary pockets version of “yesterday shutting down” (DRH’s song from the video you said was one of your favorites you’ve done on the channel)? Both are monsters!!
To be honest, I have zero knowledge or interest in playing guitar. I don't know anything about chords, bars, slides, or other musical jargon, and I think I'd like to keep it that way. It's like the Le Nozze di Figaro/Morgan Freeman scene in Shawshank for me. Any time I need to remember how to appreciate music and the insane genius that goes into it, i check for a new video on this channel. Thank you for the outstanding breakdowns, as well as broadening my appreciation for music and its genres.
Michael! long time fan from Australia. I would absolutely love to see you react to 'Matt Corby - 'Brother' (live for Like A Version)' ! Incredibly voice, and dynamic control between voice and guitar! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Just for the small possibility of this happening happens. It's on triple J's youtube channel and is a live rendition in studio. LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN WOOo
hello, have you ever listened to the ballad about the golden dragon from Estas Tonne. One of the best guitarists in Ukraine. Estas Tonne - The Song of the Golden Dragon
I have to admit I only boarded the ScaryPockets bandwagon a little over a year ago by watching the DeadWax YT Channel so a Joe Bonamassa + Scary Pockets collaboration was not something I expected but 1000% glad that it happened.
Their ability to bring in a murderers row of up and coming talent with older studio warriors is amazing. I mean, Leland Sklar and Larry Goldings just hang out and record a dozen songs for fun.
For all that's holy, react to a bill McClintock mashup. He's a mashup, genius and is a great example of what an understanding of music and an excellent ear is capable of, regardless of instrumental prowess.
Joe can play I saw a bit of him when he was a kid. Insane player even then. He aint just a std blues mimic'er like ppl give him shit for. the guy lives eats and shits music.
This performance is incredible, and the vocalist (Joanna Jones) had another fantastic guest spot with Scary Pockets a while back, covering Billie Eilish's "My Future": ua-cam.com/video/MXLaX7hwzXU/v-deo.html
Roughly, "The route major third on the suspended dorian featuring a minor 9th which arpeggios into a sustained major dorian..." I love you Michael but flipping heck you can make it sound like algebra.
They need to see his work as a support/sideman, imo when he’s wearing that hat its some of the most tasteful stuff out there. Ill admit I dont actively listen to solo Joe but his guest spots show you everything you need to be shown
Well, heck. I'm really trying to like this. Okay, I really like the music. She's a great singer. I just don't care for it as a cover. In my humble... I think It would be great if they put some original lyrics over it. I generally don't have a problem with covers. Just not this one.
Its like AC/DC meets Steely Dan

This is so rediculous how good this is musicality wise. Just people each grooving individually. Insane.

This is a freaking awesome cover of Back in Black
Been a huge fan of Jack Conte and Ryan Lerman's work in Scary Pockets and their channel Dead Wax for a long time!! ☮❤🎶
This is a great cover and the way your take these songs on live is why most of us are here..... You are awesome Michael
Love this section! Joe Bonamassa is such a blues beast, always precise and expressive.
Greetings from Colombia
Scary Pockets played the 9:30 club in DC on April 21st. I saw them in Los Angeles and they were great!
Wow. Thank you so much for breaking this one down. It’s absolutely incredible.
Dude, thank you so much for doing this. Trying to figure it out when I stumble on your analysis. Super helpful.
Dude I literally just found this video yesterday. Crazy good!
Right?!
Wow, was just amazing. So much great stuff there.
Very cool, because this is one Bonamassa collaboration I was unaware of.
Same here
Yah…..this colab is pure🔥👍
Just happened last week.
Love the billy strings hat!
This is sheer brilliance!
Scary Pockets, I remember him…he played for the Twins.

Dude! Get yourself a great electric guitar and you'll be really wanting to play a lot.
gotta get an electric.... if youve been playing acoustic .... the ease of the electric strings will inspire
Scary Pockets comes up with some fantastic shit 🤩 their Staying alive cover is another gem!
Yes!
Gezzz those vocals
nailed it Mike. You fucking rock bruh
Saw this a few days back. Yes sir. No joke.
Way cool version. That Joe has got to be one of the best at the guitar. Never heard of this scarey pockets group. Gonna check out further. Lead singer Jones had a very smooth voice.
Michael your guitar program is amazing ...
Everything about Joe's guitar accompaniment is straight from the early 70's Miles Davis crew. Check out Honky Tonk from the album Get Up With It.
Have you heard “bitter ending” or the scary pockets version of “yesterday shutting down” (DRH’s song from the video you said was one of your favorites you’ve done on the channel)? Both are monsters!!
You should listen to the guitar licks from Dailey & Vincent’s version of “Those Memories of You”. Absolutely amazing
8:00 I was about to have a little moment there until you said "Bass player's killing it." Because yes, he is indeed channeling his inner Bootsie.
Should peep them doing Big Yellow Taxi w/ Tal Wilkenfeld
Anything ADDC is good!
You should do a review on Cortez the killer Dave Mathew’s and warren Haynes central park

You should react to Shawn Lane Illusions, one of his best for sure
Jack Conte is a rabbit hole with his own stuff and Pomplamoose

@1:30 me trying to learn some devil. I’ll let myself out now.
Dig Joe playing the SG - a nod to Angus.
Would love to see you check out Mac Demarco
hello, have you ever listened to the ballad about the golden dragon from Estas Tonne. One of the best guitarists in Ukraine.
Estas Tonne - The Song of the Golden Dragon
I heard some Albert Collins skronch in there!
Calvin is now Joe's bassist. This is probably a dumb question do know Joe has been in a funk band for a long time? Rock Candy Funk Party😊
Nice hat.

You should react to Yob doing Marrow on the No Distortion video

Awesome vid btw 💯
You should check out Grail Quest by Theo Kandel

Please do something by Andy McKee!!
I recommend you to make a reaction video to (alip ba ta)a indonisian fingerstyle guitarist he is really good 👍👍👍
Matteo Mancuso !
Tremolo warble
It sounds like Joe is playing a dissonant double stop like hardcore kids did in the early 00s
please please please react to king krule - out getting ribs 🙏
Roughly, "The route major third on the suspended dorian featuring a minor 9th which arpeggios into a sustained major dorian..." I love you Michael but flipping heck you can make it sound like algebra.
Everyone who gives Joe Bonamasa crap? Who the hell gives him crap?!
jealous people.
Wondering the same thing haha. I don't know how you could give him crap for anything.
@@Guitargate Hey wait a minute, im jealous too! That guy stole my guitar collection!

Yeah, YT is full of haters who, if they were to get on stage with Bonamassa, would get absolutely creamed. I guess even Michael Jordan had his haters.
maybe AC/DC could try this version
ua-cam.com/video/W90stuuPw1A/v-deo.html
I give Joe a lot of crap... but you can't deny this solo
I'm glad you don't edit anything out 😂 👊
react to arctic monkeys please
