Hoyeman thank you for the links. That first vid with her Mom. wow and yeh they both have the licks. But it's Judith's Voice that just just I have no words what it is, but The music I would here my Mom play of the old 45's from way back. You just don't here anyone with that type of vocols and soul. With my eyes closed and not knowing who I was listing to. First thought. Aretha Franklyn.

1st things first, thanks Jeff for opening up this branch of music aka Funk/Soul! I stumbled over Scary Pockets only 2-3 weeks ago but MAN I was lost form the 1st vid I saw... THIS!!!
I never heard of Judith Hill but she sang backing voc at Princes stuff. She really is more than skilled for the front row - that PHRASING killed me + her raunchy voice... KILLER!
Scary Pockets catalogue is packed with funkafied classics --> "Dreams" Fleetwood Mac with Elise Trouw OMG ;-) To me they are the new Funk Brothers from Motown records back in the days, rock solid grooves and prime arrangements - the perfect platform for many singers.
