Actually its better to breathe in and out through the nose. The only time to breathe out through the mouth is if you are totally emptying the lungs or got into oxygen debt and have to gulp in an emergency. Reason is your body is designed by millions of years of evolution to regulate optimal breathing via the nostrils. The mouth is an oriface for food intake and wasnt designed to optimise breathing.
