- A video showing the harbor freight foam case to be used for firearms. A very well put together case at a fraction of the cost compared to the pelican cases. Sorry, it’s a long video. I just hit record and start talking. I ain’t no YT’er to be editing videos to perfection. This is all just raw 1 take videos.
Anyways, love or hate it. Comments don’t bother me, just looking to help those who wish to be helped.
Just bought a 3800 yesterday...I never thought of setting it up this way. Simpler and can fit more guns this way. Thanx for the video.
Thanks for being real! Like the fact that you worked this out on camera. Appreciate you!
I just got this case today. Wish id had watched this vid before i screwed up the top layer trying to mount them on their sides lol. I dtill have the othe layer untouched so ill see if i can save the foam afterall.
Thanks for the tips!
Defeated the purpose of the plug and pull. You created more work than needed
You obviously haven’t felt that cheap foam. Hot foam cutter did just fine and when you spray plasti dip it bonds it even better. But thanks for watching
not everyone is so perfect like you
The foam is so cheap it helps to cut guy.
Dope video, and a great use of space.. also kudos for the plasti dip idea.
I kick myself every day for not picking up a Radom I saw in 2016. It was the first year I was in the US, went to my first ever gun show and I saw one for 300 bucks on an old guys table. I knew nothing about prices then or what stuff was worth. I still think about it.. It's the one that got away lol.
For $300 it would have been one where the Germans were (or in this case the Polish people) just trying to get these guns out as fast as they can. The first Gen which is what I have here will have the little Nazi Eagle engraved on there. The 2nd and 3rd Gen will have less and less details. But they are a fun fact Gun story. That the only reason the exist now is because our soldiers either confiscated from the Nazis while alive or they pickpocketed them while they were dead.
Nice job
Excellent video 👍 man bought this today you totally helped me out!!!!
Glad to help out. Good luck carving
Great freakin’ video, man. If I could suggest, some straight spray adhesive for a couple of your bottom pieces. Your tops should lift, but once you access the bottom, that should all be glued down. Harbor Freight is pretty awesome. I get my cases from them also. I just got a 3800 for my Sig P226 Legion and my Sig P365 sub-compact. I’m glad I watched this video because you gave me a couple of great ideas. I’m going to utilize as much space as possible and get the most out of my case, thanks to you!! Thumbs up, bro!
Mondo 357 - ditto. My cases do have adhesive spray in them. I also build the wooden flag concealment cases and use similar foam and spray
@@24AnVRodri Nice! I like that flag idea. You have great ideas and great creativity with your cases. I'm glad I watched your video. I already started banging mine out today. I will definitely sub! Thanks, man!
Haa...my brother has those same exact pistols in his case. I love this Apache3800, use it as my range carry box w #hk #vp9 and my #Sig #p320 compact
Can you store your guns in a nanuk case without picking and plucking the foam it seems to close ok a little tight but not bad. The guns are surround by foam top and bottom just wondering if it is not good for the guns ?
I mean you can but remember that the egg carton foam is on top lid and then there’s a bottom layer. The middle is meant to be cut as it is thick enough to lay them flat. On one of my cases I have the thick part cut out, then the cut out piece I sliced in half (opposite cut sideways) and then glued it with adhesive spray. Now my guns pop out a little more vs being all the way down. Hope that makes sense. I may have to make another video on that to show/explain it better.
Here’s another video where you can see what I’m talking about. One of the comments I explain it there.

@@24AnVRodri Thanks for the info man. It would probably make sense just to do it like you show in the video
Love the video man!
Thanks. Video took too long but hey I was watching a great football game as well that night!!
Very nice VIS ..
Nice vid man. 👍
Matthew Wentz - Thanks!
Recently purchased an Apache 3800. The foam came precut. How did you apply the Plasti Dip?
Steve Utermahlen Yes, it does come pre-cut but for those that want to make a snug fit they also use a foam cutter a hot wire foam cutter. As long as you have that plasty dip you could just spray over the pressure rated lines and let it dry. As long as it is hot outside, I would recommend spraying it every 20 minutes, at least three coats
Will the plasti dip give the case a smell after it drys??
Is it possible to open the lid flat ?
Can you elaborate? You’re able to open this without issues. It closes and holds secure.
my 3800 is only x2 layer. One thick layer that is pluckable, and then a base layer that is not pluckable.
Love Like a Hurricane - 2 suggestions...
1) Return product to store. Go back to cases and switch out pluckable with non on a different case (if you’d like)
Or
2) once you trace out top play and pluck out, use a sharpie marker to trace above the nonpluckable and then pull out of case to start cutting/tracing over the marker.
You have the wrong case size, shoulda went 4800 for more internal height
Could have but then it would be too much. This fit perfect for what they were for.
Take a gun safety class, this is ridiculous, the way you handled the 1911 was scary and this video is 2yrs old, you have developed some deadly habits, how often do you shoot, you would be kicked off my local range instantly!!! It looks like you have kids, do it for them, you need extended training to break those habits, you will be much more difficult than a new shooter to train because you think you know what you are doing, take this video down for safety reasons as well, I’m curious where you shoot
Calm down Sally. All were unloaded if you didn’t see. No need to be disclaiming at every video, I’m not a YT’er that makes videos on a daily for profit/safety. For those here for comments… 1) I’m right handed unlike how I held with my left. If you saw my right hand, trigger finger was on side 2) this is a foam case video not a training video on how to hold a gun 3) I am holding my cell phone with 1 hand and trying to assist you all with my other. 4) BIg Eye Tuna is right. He/she sounds like a great instructor for firearms so if you would like please feel free to reach out to him/her so they can assist you. You can use my discount code of, BET10, to get 10% off at their range.
Listen nipplehead, It’s difficult to admit you made a mistake, I mean it’s not easy shooting video while holding a pistol, how could you not have to put your finger on the trigger, its obviously something you are comfortable doing and is poor form, on the other hand you did a nice job on the case, that case is in sale right now, how did the plastic spray hold up over time, cheers🤙🏽🍀🍻
@@bigeyetuna6228 PlastiDip is the way to go on any foam case!
