Writer had zero sense for consistent character traits, logical behavior, showing true character emotion or anything meaningful that adds to the Star Wars universe in the Acolyte - or if they have, they are absolutely unsuitableto bring their vision to the screen. The whole series was a trashy fever dream.
Was every episode written on its own without telling the other episode writers what was going on?
Also, where did the second mother from Osha go? Why did this giant stone building burn down from a burning book and why did not a single witch survive? Why did no Jedi care what happened to the original medicine guy in the village and why did no one in the village suspect anything when the OG medicine guy disappeared in the first place?
The main characters are written worse, I won't even start.

I could not get through half of the first one. It's just, well, awful.
Now that the first three episodes are out, it's possible to see many 'fans' are seeing the characters as belonging to their own personal hate group targets - the Witches of Dathomir feature in The Clone Wars animated series, especially around the back story for Darth Maul, and in Ahsoka, as a Female Force Sensitive culture, but the haters see Witches in in The Acolyte and go on an anti-LGBTQ+ rant, and ignore that there is also a Male centric culture on Dathomir.
Yes, some of the acting has been rather wooden, the first two Jedi to show up boarding the Trade Ship were stiffer then Redwoods. And yet, Carrie Anne Moss in the opening sequence is brilliant, Trinity would be proud of those moves.
Episodes 2 and 3 are a big step up compared to the first, but so far this does appear to be the weakest of the TV series's. It's still better then the last three Episodes of the Skywalker saga.
I think it's real 'problem', is that the Filloni/Favreau team has raised the bar so high that fans expectations have grown, and now many see anything not of the same level as 'the worst thing ever'.

Lesley has shown that she knows star wars. Respectful of what George has created but someone who grew up with the books and WEG table top games. Now doing a High Republic show, in interviews and panels, shown her love and appreciation for the literature world created that is the High Republic that she gets to play in. So far, its a perfect combo and from the preview I saw at TPM 25th anniversary, this looks incredible

@kalairbo on the contrary, everything I have seen has shown me quite the opposite. Most of, if not all from this show has been inspired by things from EU Legends or clone wars material. Nothing has been retconned despite the fandon menace' faux outrage.
