Next time you talk to her, thank her for not dropping this on yet another desert planet!😂
There's still another episode to go! Don't count your chickens just yet.
@@Bad_Wolf_Mediathankfully all we’ve seen of the next episode is an asteroid belt and a snow planet, we may have avoided a desert planet for the first time in ages
If the dialogue writing gets better, I’m cool with the desert planet. 🫢
@@Bad_Wolf_Media update I can confirm there is no desert planet.
2:20 “The miners delved too greedily and too deep.”?!? Surely the showrunner didn’t say that … if accurate, then I know what the big reveal will be tomorrow night … the force vergence on Brendok is actually Durin’s Bane!
A cut so deep it goes into a different fandom 😅
The Balrog is the vergence. You heard it here :D
Durin's Darth Bane
I got bad news for ya...
@@famousthaneus9810 yeah, it turns out they didn’t dig so deep to awaken the Balrog from its slumber. However, I did notice what appeared to be one of the Nazgul slinking around Qimir’s cave!
Getting to talk to THE creator of the show is a crazy accomplishment. Regardless of what people think of the Acolyte, Leslie seems like a huge fan of the franchise.
Lol the quality is fantastic.
@@Progger11 meant more what people THINK of the show
Lmao wtf is this???
@@shrekrealista5045uh, a comments section?
They knew he wouldnt ask critical questions
Now I'm wondering if Yord was an NPC, a PC played by Leslye Headland herself, or if one of her players watched their character get his neck snapped brutally by a Sith.
'I got to do a female character who is choosing darkness and evil, which is, honestly, my brand'.
-Woman who delivered countless starlets to a predator in the Presidential Suite at the Waldorf in Beverly Hills.
"IRIDONIA!" I cackled louder than I should've at 3am, but it was worth it. No lie though, I'd love to see Iridonia in a project at some point
So the Mines of Moria is now in the Star Wars universe.
lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
That’s exactly what I thought too. Awesome.
Noticed that too…I guess the force vergence is actually Durin’s Bane
The sound quality on the call was abysmal. I couldn't listen to it.
Love your videos. Nice to have a Star Wars UA-camr that still has some dignity lol. There are more than a few that have been making this whole experience kind of miserable, intentionally inflaming the fanbase.
This is easily the best Star Wars channel on UA-cam! I come for the positivity. I don't necessarily mind criticism, as long as it as actually based on the work and not, you know, all that "other stuff."
Yup!
@brianjl7477 So true, well said. So tired of endless anger.
@@brianjl7477 exactly! it's so sad that this show already started getting hate way before its release (and imo it isn't deserved at all)
@@loosegoose2466 But endless anger is the path to the COOL SIDE! I wanna be cool...
An interesting idea that failed catastrophically. The story was incomprehensible because of the shifting character motivations. The story should have been mainly about Sol’s training of Osha to be a Jedi. Then her powers would make more sense and the turn more powerful when she leaned of the betrayal at the end. But then, this trope has already been done, Star Wars is basically about the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker.
This guy talks about Disney Star Wars like there having a lightsaber close to his head. 😂
They kind of do. If he speaks negatively of the horrible show he wouldn't get invited to all the cool Star Bores events.
Living up to ones ideals is a lifelong struggle that will never be fully realised. At least it is for those being honest with themselves.
Seriously, I don't know how anyone could listen to Leslye Hedland and think "she doesn't understand Star Wars"
That whole last bit about the betrayal of the father and Luke and Osha both dealing with that is so on point. I can't wait to see what Osha does.
I think she does know her stuff, but so do a lot of fans. I wouldn't really trust them to write anything compelling just because they know a lot about star wars.
What the F is this bertyal of the father nonsense!? Vader was seduced to the dark side and his son gave him a chance to be redeemed, quigon was a wise master that sacrificed himself, Luke is about putting others needs before your own. His father never betrayed him it's not like he promised luke a bunch of lies.
@@MaxRamos8 It's more that the father isn't who the character thought they were. Luke thought his father was a noble hero and he wasn't. Osha thought Sol was the Jedi that rescued her from the fire her sister set that killed all her family but he is really the guy that killed her mom and let her sister fall to her supposed death.
In that way, the two characters are betrayed by their father figures. Betray may also not be the best word to use but that's the word she decided on in the moment.
@@Osvetnik1138 this poorly worded comment (Headland though your defense isn't good) still misses any of the values that the OT and PT teach. The OT teaches about hope, redemption, sacrifice, and fighting for the good even if you are tempted to stop. The PT teaches of Cammadre, learning to let go, the consequences of doing anything to get to a solution, the fall of arrogance, and manipulation.
In terms of themes we have romance, heroism, chivalry, friendship, brotherhood, meditation, and dealing with negative emotions. There are many more but not a single point in Star Wars is about a father betraying or lying or etc. To his child. There IS manipulating one to use the dark side with jealousy, anger, and seeking for power, but they are not done by father figures
@@Osvetnik1138 and he killed her in self defense and thought she was HARMING Osha. The flashback CLEARLY shows he didn't have the training to save both so he made the hard decision to choose who to save. The show has bad writing, Sol should have explained why he attacked in a moment of haste. Sol didn't do any act of malice.
So Master Sol wasn't guilty of murder? How does that make sense? It makes the ending ridiculous.
Around the 10 minute mark - yeah we're absolutely seeing Plagueis.
Wow
Congratulations
@@IntenseYubNub you called it right.
Too bad he looks more like the grinch
@@spacefoodie he looks great. Idk what you watched
I wish the audio quality was better, it's heard to understand some of what is being said. But this is a fun Q&A, thank you for sharing.
Not really in Alex's control
auto captions fortunately seem very accurate
I'm loving these interviews with her.
I feel like we don't really get that with the other live action series, such candid BTS looks and discussions with the creators while the show is still airing.
On the one hand it might detract a bit from the mythos and mystery the show has been building, but I just love how passionate and deeply connected Leslye is to her creation and SW as a whole.
It’s damage control, a good director doesn’t need to justify and explain their and creative decisions after every episode
She ruined Star Wars
No she's beating up a dead horse@@beneatspizza2380
Wow! What a get! Congrats, man! You deserve it!
Interesting to note that there must have been some time before returning from the mission and Torbin taking the vow. By the time we catch up he’s grey, balding and a master. I’d forgotten that and just presumed he went straight into the vow post Brendok
6 years I think
Many thanks to Alex, Leslye and everyone involved. ✨
Your delusional how do you thank someone for this dogshit show
I'm satisfied her fanfic is canceled. And it ain't canon.
Iridonia would be more likely, since she has horns, right?
Or dathomire
@@jedirogar Yeah, he said that. But female Zabrak’s on Dathomir don’t have horns.
@@dramaturge231 I think he thinks Dathomir would be more likely because it's more iconic, and already associated with (a separate coven of) witches.
Doesn't matter she can change whatever she wants.
The Acolyte made Solo look like The Godfather.
It is embarrassingly bad.
Questions not asked: Indara dots on her eyes, what was supposed to happen at the ascension, will they explore more sith lore, what is the back story to the eclipse planets, what is the symbology of the triangles and the witches, I’m pumped for episode 8
Wait, triangles?! Did you mean that or circles?! I must watch again now lol
I appreciate Leslye using the language of opinion and interpretation in her answers. I had previously been a bit iffy about some of her interview answers where I felt she was making concrete statements about what happened as opposed to how it can be interpreted from a viewer perspective. Anyone criticising her for 'bad writing' because she's 'explaining things' or because she's allowing for viewer interpretation can be very confidently ignored as being utterly ignorant about writing, textual analysis or film-making.
It's just their (wilfully ignorant) opinions, man.
The fact that she has to do these full interviews after every single episode, is why people are adding this as an example of how bad the writing is. There shouldn't need to be this much clarification after each episode. Behind the scenes is one thing. usually those have more to do with bloopers or added information, but the show for the most part should hold to itself, and imo (and it looks like many others) this was not the case with this series.
There was one line about "red herrings" Leslye dropped that made me think she accidentally spilled some beans. Obviously Qimir's reveal wasn't red herring, nor the plots surrounding Brendok, granted Mae was the unintentional arsonist. What other possible red herrings lurk that are yet to be revealed? My best guess, is Qimir's scar, which make many people speculated was caused by Vernestra's whip. I think that was other big red herring alluded to by Leslye. Qimir's scar may have been given to him by another individual. One who may appear in the finale. One of the Sith Lords featured in the novels. That would be the person who took everything from Qimir... but also took him in.
Lol
Thanks for being there for the Star Wars community, and focus on Star Wars rather than all the drama people like dredging up!
Thought it was a Star Trek show from how trash it was.
When the hand is forced, there is usually something forcing it. Well-deserved drama and I hope people don't give up on vocalizing their worries and distaste about The Acolyte being such a mess that not even Lesley remembers what it went over in a recent interview lol.
Also, I hope you’re able to get more interviews from the cast and crew of not just acolyte, but also other Star Wars shows as well
She destroyed star wars, she is a monster
On the next episode of
"Disney paid me to say this ..."
God i am so amazed by lesley and her transparency and willingness to speak to creators.
Speak only to creators who love everything about the show
@@brockjackson98 yeah, because there are so many media personalities are out there doing interviews with bad faith creators who personally hate them, their productions, and trash it all online everyday.
She's trying to do damage control cause her show is failing and everyones pointing out the flaws so she does interviews and says nonsense like "we haven't confirmed that the witches created the twins" even tho in episode 3 the head witch says "I created them" while talking about the twins. She also in that same interview when explaining why the twins are a dyad she said" the witches weren't strong enough to make one person", so they made two? Or her idea that head witch was becoming one with the force aka a force ghost that's why she turned to a demon thing..
I got nothing against her as a person, I don't know her, but she just made the least popular, and most disliked star wars show ever.. never used this word before but the way I'd say it would get this comment deleted so I'll jus say stop "glazing"
@@BuffaloBorn78 there are definitely creators you could find that are critical without being disrespectful
@@brockjackson98 maybe. But unfortunately when you have a show getting review bombed before the first episode has even aired, I have a hard time taking any of the criticism seriously.
It's not a perfect show, but no Star Wars product ever has been! I'm enjoying it, which makes the hysterical criticism even less genuine. It doesn't rise near the level of Andor, but falls nowhere near TPM or BOBF.
Curious as to why the only two that exiled themselves was the two that got possessed. Everyone was involved in the events but two did not exile themselves.
Those two actions are tied together.
Call me crazy but I think the idea of a combination of the Thing and the Balrog connected to Force vergences is really cool and I want to know more about that. May have to add it to my next Star Wars TTRPG.
So pleased to see the access that you guys are starting to get. Nobody deserves it more
So she wouldn’t even let you ask the questions directly. Wow.
It’s interesting that Headland revealed that Koril isn’t in the final episode considering I think people still had theories that she may be Qimir’s teacher/master (other than whoever his Jedi master was).
@@Vulcanerd she's been spoiling lots of stuff bout every episode the week before it comes out
@@jacobjackson2787 I appreciate that she’s willing to make herself available to fans, but having these sessions right after episodes and in the middle of the season means more chances for things to get out, deliberately or accidentally. It also allows for less speculation when the creator comes out within the week and flat out says “oh, this is x or y.”
Thanks for hosting Leslye Headland. May not have agreed with several of her decisions but now I have a better understanding of her vision for the show.
Not gonna lie, her answers impressed me so much. This is coming from someone who doesn’t like the show much.
You know what guys Lesley tried her best to create a show that was true to the fans, George and herself. She tried to do it her own way. She nailed some stuff really well and flopped on some like most shows. I thought chimir alone should give her Star Wars street cred from us nerds. Either way I truly wish for peace in the Star Wars community again like when we were all eagerly waiting episode 7
Honestly, same - don’t know if it will ever happen, but I’m thankful for the positive interactions where ever I can find them :)
When did she ever profess those to be her guiding motivation and inspiration? In the run-up to the show cited and emphasized other themes and motivations
She ruined Star Wars
Stop making excuses for her
Lmao shes speculating about a show shes writing?? what do u mean u don't know??? Everything is up to my interpretation sounds like u want me to write this show for u.
They don't even know what they wrote, or what it means. Writing just to write the characters they want "representation" of and that's all.
she didnt write it... she just picked some actor that were blk, gay, or both. that's the only thing she did everything else was from other ppl.
@@hesohit oh my mistake
Did anyone ask why episodes were barely cracking 27 mins? Then bulked up with longer credits?
I WISH someone had asked her about why Kylo Ren’s theme is in every episode, very prominently, despite there being no other connection to him in the show.
I’m gonna be disappointed by the inevitable lack of an answer in the finale.
Could straight up just be a way to remind you of the sequals lmao
@@kp-legacy-5477 i guess but to what end? Why Kylo’s specifically
@@kp-legacy-5477most definitely not and even if it was the sequels exist people enjoy them and they are part of the story there will be a lot of nods towards them moving forward.
Maybe just because their characters are similar.
@ReySkywalker2 idk there were also musical cues from "I am the senate" during that fight too. That connection is obvious, maybe the kylo ren music is just there to evoke that he isn't quite a Sith?
This was very cool. Looking forward to episode 8. And fingers crossed for a season 2
I love that Leslye uses the F-Bomb as a noun in her interviews. Her willingness to be candid about her process with the fanbase despite all of the manufactured and monitized hate shows how deep her passion for the material is. Awesome interview!
Most people would say that the inability to use other words that would be more appropriate, make the use of vulgar words, like the F-word, unprofessional. It's great that you have your opinion and obviously you connect with her, but as a heads up 99% of the professional world would disagree with that.
@@kamotrofyeah, it's a kids show, should probably try to use kid friendly language when talking about the job.

This is AWESOME!!!
Oh my god please don’t spend money on a second season
Thank you for sharing a great interview
How do you support her, she ruined cannon starwars, left a terrible stain on the franchise
Thanks to Leslye for making this show. I am from the same generation as her and have been a lifelong Star Wars fan. I've been growing weary of what we have been given recently and The Acolyte has been a breathe of fresh air for me. Here's to hoping we get some more Star Wars from the past. High Republic or, better yet, some Old Republic.
No way you actually think that, your delusional buddy
This show was absolutely horrible, please let Leslye know she should never touch Star Wars with a mile long pole

You’re the reason Disney no longer produces good content
Your absolutely delusional 😂
This was super insightful. Really good questions and answers to why the show is the way it is and its structure which I know had some people upset. I hope it puts people’s minds at ease! Also there were just really cool nuggets of information in their, thank you!

Great listen, refreshing and candid. Thanks!
So glad this show tanked & her plans are foiled. Star Wars fans united & outed this imposter!
This interview is up to your interpretation.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm looking forward to watching the finale tomorrow. Hopefully we get a Season 2, but if not I understand. I just hope the ending is definitive. SW needs to explore new eras and ideas in my opinion.
I've gone from basking in her failure to feeling bad for her. She seems like a nice lady, this was her big chance and she doesn't have pretty privilege. I'm not cut out to be a director either. Unlike amandala who appears to deserve exactly what she got.
She inserted her own personal beliefs in to a show that has no place for it
@@lukelee6436 what beliefs?

Delusional
@@o7El11l Yes!
If Lucasfilm are going to try to renew this show for a second season, it's definitely going to need a new showrunner and writing staff. There were so many good ideas in this show that were poorly executed. The hype from selling the fans on a Sith show really have not been realized.
I really wish I could talk to her. Man, the potential of discussion could be endless.
Amazing. Leslye Headland made a TV series for herself to enjoy. Riveting stuff. A $180M home movie. A ballsy feat if we’ve ever seen one. Seriously, she has said she could care less for the Star Wars fan base after this dumpster caught fire, so now she will curl up on a Saturday night trying to explain to her cats the power of many, Leslye being the only person left in the world that would give The Acolyte a second’s thought.
You sound deranged
I love you guys and your commentaries. I’m so glad you haven’t changed your modus operandi in the face of all the ugliness flying around.
You joke about Iridonia, but Koril is clearly Iridonian, not Dathomiri. Female Dathomiri Zabraks do not have horns. The Nightsisters are female Dathomiri Zabraks. Only Iridonian female Zabraks have horns. And only Iridonian Zabraks have that human skin tone. Dathomiri females are pale, but the males are a bright color like red or orange, until they add their black tattoos.
@@SpiderboyN2Jesus Night sisters aren't Zabraks.
@@Progger11 oops, that is correct 😅... I got confused as the Nightsisters are listed as human ok Wookiiepedia, even though I could swear they were near-humans, but whatever. All the same; she's clearly not Dathomiri. Wookiiepedia even lists her as Iridonian. Dothomiri Zabraks do not have normal human skin tone like Mother Koril. But Iridonians do.
When every answer is up for interpretation 😂
@@Feromonics a lot of creators say that. It’s art. It’s up to interpretation.
@@BobbyM817 I think it also is a good sign that they didn't do their research or read much into the writer's lore created who had come before them.
@@BobbyM817 a lot of creators also do it properly where they have a definite meaning that makes actual sense but don't necessarily reveal it to the audience. Lets say her show is a series of paintings Leslye basically threw paint randomly on several of those paintings and said u tell me wat it means..
@jacobjackson2787 exactly even in episode 6 when Vernestra goes to Khofar with that other jedi and they see the dead bodies and he asked what happened here and she says what do you see
@@DDuffy143which lore ? People keep saying this without providing an example that isn’t dismissible bullshit
Interesting, also, that the she says says that the vergence corrupted the locals until they turned on each other. It feels rather sinister for something I would have considered to be neutral.
People could possibly also influence a vergence. "You get back what you take in," kind of thing. And with a place like that on Dagobah which amplifies your fears, well... that could very quickly blow out of proportion.
@@djorankeil Ooh, yeah, that’s an interesting take. I could see that for sure.
Vergences can be evil, like the tree in ESB
@@matheusfernandes2102 But, was it evil? It manifested that way when Luke brought his fear into the tree with him, right? I know in legends, it used to be a place where a powerful dark side user died or something so was inherently evil, but I don't know what the official explanation is now. I'm not denying your explanation, but just trying to hash this out (and there may also not be an actual or official answer just yet or at all).
Did you ask why she hired terrible writers?
Diversity
It's weird for the writer to keep referring to events in their own story with "I think" or "this may have been what happened" or "I'm not sure"
You should be confident in your work not confused about it.
The thing is, it’s not just her story. She’s one of several creators adding to the bigger story, so giving definitive answers is difficult for two reasons:
(A) Your answer might contradict a yet unreleased story that you weren’t on the planning team for.
(B) you might spoil things that will be revealed later in the work of another person.
Being vague is the only way to go here.
@DailyDoseMain What a wild reach
It's not a confidence issue 😂
They're just media trained not to break their NDAs or risk upsetting the studios by revealing something
Leslye has no right to use Ki Adi Mundi, Plagueis and Yoda. She is nobody for these rights.!!!!!!!!!!
