I am still poking about on the USB 305 frequency Fred. I am a patient man and will keep trying to reach the UK group. This is a good video for those just getting into the CB radio hobby. The radio can be so surprising and outright amazing at times. We all have amazing many radio signal stories that we can share. The whole lesson to be learned is... Get a communications radio and antenna setup and just see for yourself. It is an awesome hobby that many will come to appreciate. Thanks for sharing Fred.
was fantastic we joined in on the Dundee net afternoon and lots of us golf echo cb group members made lots new contacts and friends 73s from 26 golf echo 1066 in Hastings
I had about 30 to 40 contracts from UK into Germany from southwest to Scotland. Birmingham. Norfork. Devon Bristol and a couple of into Central London...... What a great day.
I remember many many yrs ago , i was able to chat with ppl in the UK on their UK FM radios , and i am way across here in the island of Trinidad & Tobago , Caribbean .... I cant wait for prop to get that good again
Must have been the Sunday I was on the UK40 and came across a German net on channel 2 made contact with 3 stations the SS9900 was on 1/2 power they drifted away after an hour but couldn’t believe they all gave me good reports 5/7 5/9 on my home made T2LT at around 8m 26TG064, 26CT4525, TONY
I had Scotland and Ireland and even continental Europe coming in. Wall to wall, literally, at it's best there wasn't a single channel spare! Awesome :)
Muppet band got its name from the "MPT" Regulatory system, Fred. Transmissions are or were regulated by MPT licencing... even car remote key fobs. Can't remember off hand what "M.P.T" stood for!
Hello Fred, perhaps you can use a laptop cooling pad under your 9900, power it from an external 5v source. Nice also hearing station's calling then moving to another channel
