    #4 hit me.
"Parents' responses to their kids issues are tied up to their own issues"
saying "sorry" to our kids for responding harshly is really humbling and it's really God's way of changing our hearts.
    Thank you Pastor Joe!😉

"EH pano ko nga magagawa yan sa anak ko eh GANTO ginawa saken" -- So relatable. Still imagining it how it would be if or when I do become a father. But this def helps. Thanks Pas! So helpful content. Pls continue doing more.

With every word I heard from you, I felt the nearness of Heavenly Father to me. The joy of knowing that we have the privilege of calling Him Father. Thank You God!

Teary-eyed watching this vlog, thank you! I remember my Dad. We're so much alike that's why we clash a lot. I remember a month before he passed away last year, I looked at him with patience whenever he gets angry at me and think, my Dad is also my heavenly Father's son. He is also at work with my earthly father. No doubt, parents want the best for their children and I'll always be grateful for being given such loving parents.

“..If it was for my best benefit, you would do it for me”
This really hits in so many levels . Most of the time it’s easy to forget that God truly loves us especially when He says no to things we thought what was best for us.
And with every point said in this vlog, it reminded that our (my) parents are just humans who is also in need of a saviour and the renewal of the heart that only God can do.
Thank you for this vlog Pastor!

Listening to this vlog while my parents are fighting outside our rooms.
They have been that way ever since... Now there are only few things we are open to them and it's not even the important areas in our lives.

Such wisdom, Pastor! Bless you! We can only give what we have. But if we are unaware of what we lack, we cannot grow, or even ask the Lord. Resonating with your thoughts, I remember a book given by a mentor called "Grace-based Parenting" by Van von Deren (if i remember correctly). By Gof's grace, we can grow to be more loving parents, and children (to our parents)!

Sakto po sa devo ko today, "Abba, Father". since I am not yet a parent, it's a sneak peak to God's heart as a Father. What spoke to me most is that God sees a lot of hope & potential in all of us, and the desire to give what's best for even if sometimes it doesn't make sense to me. Thank you, pastor.

#1 linyahan ng nanay ko. Hehe.
"You'll understand when you have your own kids." Ang sakit lang na laging ganon sinasabi nya. Noon hindi ko naiintindihan talaga. The first thing na tumatatak sa isip ko noon, hindi ko gagawin yung way ng parenting nila when I have my own family and kids. And now mas naintindihan ko kung bakit ganon. Thank u for this pastor joe! ☺️ And I do hope and pray na sana naiintindihan din nila kaming mga anak 😅
    Walang imposible kay Lord! 💪❤️

I pray na my kids would seek Gods help in does times para they would not grow in anger at magkasala but would find refuge and peace.

When you were a kid you look up to your parents because you see them as smart parents. As you grow up to teen and a little older, you "realize" you're smarter than them. BUT as you mature, now you know they got more wisdom than you do - you run to them when you are in a trouble.

Ahhh, naiiyak ako. In a good way. Sooo many of the things you said here are things that the Lord revealed to me, as well. That's why I tell myself I'm on a healing journey. Because I am. If I could, I would give my (future) children a better playing field by resolving as much of my issues as possible, now while I don't have them (the kids lol) yet. And I want a partner who is aware of this, as well. I think we all carry different forms of generational traumas, and I want to be with someone who's actively breaking them, too.

Thank you so much for this, Pastor! God's timing is indeed perfect as He led me to watch this video. I appreciate how He gives you the discernment to discuss all these topics & concerns that aren't openly talked about as much in the church. You're videos have been a channel of God's blessing to my life and to many others!

I remember, when I was a young inexperienced mom, how I would wish my kids come with an instructional manual taped at their back as they are being delivered by me😁 Now that my kids are adults, whew I would say parenting is tough and does not end even when they are adults and when they'll have their own family. I did use that line "you'll know..." to my kids as well, sometimes to end an argument 😁l appreciate this vlog Ptr. Joe, made me appreciate my parents more and how God is so good and faithful. 😇

Wahhh! Thank you so much for this vlog. I have always wondered what that phrase really mean and I will only be able to fully understand it when I have a family in the future. Thank you for for attempting to explain it. As a young person who observes her parents, this vlog makes me want to pray more for my parents. Also, as a kid I really appreciate it when my parents say sorry because it is that moment where you see how to be humble and have a teachable heart. Thank you again :D God bless you always!

@Pastor Joe, no truer words has been said about understand things more (if not better) than when one becomes a parent indeed...
I too had regrets for a season in my life where I rebelled when I started having initial financial freedom instead of listening to sound advise from my elders on how to invest & save it for my future. But yes, as Ecclesiastes 3 also declares, " to each season a purpose". Appreciate the effort to shed more light to the said often tagged "cliché" of a saying but remains a timeless yet timely situation in every family, regardless, of the structure.
My thoughts & prayers go out to each family like mine, who may or may not have started their journey with the LORD. May HE be center, front, behind, beside & surround your unit all days of your life, In Jesus' Name. 🙏

    • @joebonifacio

☹️ This is always a sad thing to encounter. If I was talking with a person in that situation, what I do is to listen and help them feel like this is a safe place to process that hurt. Then I try to help them see that it's not Christianity that's the issue, because Jesus would never treat them wrongly. Hopefully, they find a relationship with Jesus that's independent of (but can be connected to) their parents.
