Absolutely crazy that Hirschi was ranked 10th in UCI points going into this race without having won a WT race since 2020. The man is a .Pro farming machine.
.Pro farming machine💀🤣
On the theme of giving riders heavy vehicle comparisons, fair to say Hirschi is a .Pro points combine harvester
uhu?@Swakkepaktuma
.Pro farming machine name I thought was reserved for Tractor? 😜
@@stenovitzthere can only be one El Tractor
The restaurant is called Arzak and is absolutely worth a visit. A family style run place by the daughter Elena, but with Michelin star class.
Bah,tampoco te pases.Hay muchos buenos restaurantes.Y más baratos.La mitad de gringos de aquí se quedarían contentos con un bocadillo en el Juantxo
Dude. Give me Mickey D’s any day! 😂
Just kidding. McDonald’s is toxic waste that no one should eat. There’s more in the way of preservatives than actual food in Mickey D’s.
But since I will never make it to Europe, enjoy some good European food for me. I shall live vicariously through you. 👍🏻
Sometimes i wonder if I’m addicted to pro cycling or your commentaries. Can you do a golf match review so I can check? 😜
I never thought I would enjoy watching golf until I saw a playoff between Tiger Woods and another guy. They tied at the end and had to go head to head on the previous holes until one pulled ahead; and they matched each other over something like 5 holes until the other guy finally made a mistake and Tiger took it. It was REALLY dramatic. I’m a skiing and cycling type and I consider golf to be an activity, not a “sport”; but that playoff was pretty darn cool.
That was a super nice victory by Marc Hirschi, who looks to be back to his best form. He's looking like a good outside bet for the World's in Zurich this year.
More like inside.
That Woods National Champ jersey is 🔥
It got me a'thinking. Mexico, white top with the eagle grasping snake on the back.
jeffrey- i mean sylvan loves his canadians lol
Glad that this time Alaphillipe didn’t deviate in the sprint and cut Hirsche off like he did 4 yrs ago deleting H of a monument, and getting A kicked out.
A fucking leaf
@@ItsMinarmy language
congrats to Hirshi! so happy for his win although I would have loved an Alain Phillipe win too
Poor Vingegaard, he was added back into the start list quite late so presumably feeling okay else they wouldn't have done that? With his palmares Visma were always going to have to do some pulling on the front, maybe he just didn't have the legs at the crucial moment.
Maybe visma are trying to get him a bit more experience in more chaotic races like one days? A strong team can control later stages against a tired field a lot better than a one day race where everyone's coming with fresh legs. From watching him in the last few tours I got the impression he prefers calmer races where everything is going to plan, while Pogi doesn't seem to be able to follow anyone's plans 😂(even his own!) So maybe they wanted Ving to get more used to dealing with other riders throwing a range of different tactics at him
What palmares does he have in classics? Not that much
Why look for excuses to explain vingegard failure ? He's just an average rider than can only shine in very specific conditions: strong team and long climbs with high %, basically less than 10 races during the year.
Maybe but I don’t think he would have abandoned the race then when things got complicated if the plan was for him to get more experience in chaotic races?
@@MatWolk 🤡 weak bait
@@MatWolkhe is a one trick pony, but probably the best at that one trick. Being a Tour de France winner is hardly average. And why not sharpen your skills in those one day races?
Passing Lanterne Rouge doing Alpe Du Zwift while watching Lanterne Rouge
2:35, Is the restaurant named Arzak? I just watched an episode of Bourdain's No reservations where he spends a day with the owners and chefs. It looks amazing, and not (that) expensive considering their reputation. I'm researching San Sebastian and Basque Country food cause I'm going on vacation there in September. I'm going to go watch the final mountain stages of La Vuelta.
I wonder if Alaphilippe thought that the Lotto rider was Van Gils? If his radio wasn’t working and he just saw a lotto rider Van Gils sprint is really good so he might’ve been worried about that. But not sure
Would Van Gils be there on this steep of a stage?
@@boomer_alert Well he was 4th in Liége-Bastogne-Liége and 3rd in Fléche Wallone, so it would be possible.
Even after working for Van Eetvelt, not for himself, he still finished in the top 20.
I do wonder if the 2019 Amstel Gold Race finish hasn’t weighed on Alaphilippe. Seems more twitchy and paranoid, not as focused in these finales.
Great recap, always know I can rely on these when I can’t watch the race live. Hope you remember the name of that restaurant
Ah no it's definitely the 20' LBL that haunts him. He fucked that one up, and then Pogi beat him straight up the next year in the sprint. Now it's gonna be Pogi or Remco winning it for another 5-10 years. He missed his shot at the monument that suits him best.
Hop Suisse! Go Hirshi 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
❤❤❤ I love the accent whenever Yoonas Winger Got 😆 comes up on screen!
You never know what's coming when it's time to say Yoonas' name. Anything goes, as long as it sounds super foreigny.
I thought it was “Vinger guard?” 😁
His pronunciation does seem to vary a lot. What is it with Brits and foreign names? I was watching some old 90s mountain biking videos and the announcers from the UK can’t say Tinker Juarez’s name right to save their lives. One guy always says, “Durez” while the other one was saying “Schwarez”, “Schwarejj”, and even “Schwaresh” (like it was from India or something). It was constantly changing throughout the race. What is so hard about “War-ez?” 🤔
It blows me away that no one ever pulled them aside at some point and explained it to them.

@@keirfarnum6811the correct Danish pronounciation of “gaard” is like “gore” - like in Al Gore. Gaard is the old way of writing “gård”, and translates directly to “farm”.
@@keirfarnum6811Brits? Who’s the Brit?
Great to see Alaphilippe back to top form!
Marc Hirschi, probably: That's what you get for chopping me in LBL 2020
Ha surprised that Patrick didn’t recall that one
@@MichaelBoogerdwhat do u mean? Patrick literally said, “he probably would’ve won that LBL that Ala was relegated in”
Good bit of comradery their at the end, good to see.
Class ….. keep up the great work
1:03 can’t tell me thats not ben healy
Pogi should do this race next year. It has a finish that suits him well.
Why? Compared to all the other races he could win, this one is insignificant.
He did this race in 2022 and also did not finish.
Visma pushed Vingegaard too hard on his recovery so he could be in TdF but now he's in the gutter instead of supercompensating from all the efforts.
If he races the Vuelta he may dig himself into a hole it will be hard to come out of
He's in tour of Poland no?
You have to be more strategic. For Jonas it was a training race simulation ride. They made tempo to keep Jonas at the front to minimise the probability of crashing.
lol yep. Cause people race to not not win all the time. 🤡
3 Americans in the top 10! Powless always does well here. I love to see it.
Hirschi fantastico, gara super intelligente
2:11 Uh what's THAT in the middle of the way, Road FUR-nature?
Amazing
Looking back trying to figure out who the rider is?
How can I watch these kinds of races in the USA? Is Max the only option?

T'was a Z2 training day for Vingegaard.
Good to see Alaphilippe in good form, but why is he always acting so nervousely?
He could have won more races if he were more cold blooded. Still an amazing rider of course.
He’s not as powerful as he was 3-4 years ago.
trauma from 2019 Amstel , he feels VdP breath on his neck every day since :D
@@1101grayzerwell he was that twitchy also 3-4 years ago too… it’s just his style of riding… like he’s got a tic when on the pointy end of a race
Guys who tighten their shoes rarely win. See this in amateur racing all the time.
Yonahs Weeguhgah!!!
Too bad we don't know any employees at Visma, that could tell us what went wrong 🤔
Kuss is understandable coming straight over from a hard 5-day race but JV DNF? Tells me he knew he was going to lose minutes more and couldn't deal with the ignominy. But why was he going to lose minutes is the question.
@@paulevans6403 actually kuss should be on great form after a 5 day race imo, see remco; mvdp; wva etc. TDF 24. Also jonas might still be tired of the TDF cause he lacked foundation but still kinda wierd seeing them struggle so much
All these UAE riders are just entering their prime years and I don't think UAE's pockets are endlessly deep
Alaphillipe's public guilt for twitchy robbing Hirschi at LBL can now rest -
Noti gang
nice jump; didn't want to stick around to play games
He wanted to win but night before he ate some figs and they didn't mix well with energetic. Throughout the race he suffered from severe stomach cramps
Pogacar broke Vingegaard.
3 Americans in the top 10, that is a great day!
It’s fine! Jonas expected to lose by more.
That's going to be his excuse for the rest of his career. LOL
@@BrianWelch-vc7xy haha it very well might be his troll. Hard to top Tadej’s I’m dead I’m done though
Your such a toxic pogy fan your all over putting it all in black and white, talking no details and commenting jonas fan, cry more or what ever. Just get off youtube dude and stop your toxic comments.
You can't lose by more than DNF
Pogi did this race in 2022 and also DNF
I really fear vingegaard will not return to catch pogi again. I think that the crash took a larger toll than most think, and i think vingegaard pushed himself way to hard in the tour taking an enormous toll on his body - leaving him now well behind to catch up. It is possible burn out the body and it will take months up to a year to recover for a normal human so obv less for him, and then he will gotta catch up in shape. Meanwhile pogi been on the road to greatest form in cycling. Mix that in with jonas basically saying in the crash it gave him perspective and things like family matter more than cycling, i am not sure he will return to the very top. There's even a chance he will quit professional cycling if next tour goes badly for him. Bit nervous really. It's too bad, i wanted him to put pogi in his place one last time at least.
Pogi IS in his place...
Visma Lab was just leaving the race open 😏
fking Matxin man first he doesnt select Ayuso for LaVuelta and then tricks poor Hirschi into thinking this was a PRO race.

Wish Vingegaard never got that injury. Robbed us of a great Tour
Vingegaard was better than ever at this year Tour. So we just can not expect him be a lot better even without injury
@@NeoSavesLives😂😂
@@NeoSavesLives he would probably be better without the muscle mass loss he had from the injury at the tour ..
@@NeoSavesLives You serious? Vingegaard had 1,5 months preparation . You are saying an uninjured Vingegaard with proper preparation wouldn't have been better?
we all do wish.Still he managed to give a performance of his life in TDF stage 15 this year, said by himself.
Alaphillippe needs to switch to decaf. Good lord.
his radio was clearly not working, that was the pointing
you would never see this happen with pogi
This exact same thing happened to poggy in 2022 and that was the last time he did this race.
He literally DNF last time he did this race morron
Considering the Alberto stakes he is enjoying lately presumably not
@@selaz685 ok you are all correct my Bad

soo brave Cyclists!
Jonas is conditioning for the Tour of Poland.....
Vuelta is around the corner, and Sepp Kuss has to prove he was NOT gifted. Our boy is NERVOUS!
Imagine all of a sudden Pog appears on the starting list? 😂😂 I am sure Sepp will be happy to see that, a bit of competition uou know
Vingegaard is a broken man. I blame that savage Pog for this! 😂😂

Amazing job USA. Two in top 10
THREE in Top Ten... Go USA.!!!! McNulty, Powless, and Vermaerke...
I thought he was saying "he or she".
The beloved Danish anchovy is psychologically damaged by his Tour defeat. Always a Dane.
The flag of Palestine 🇵🇸 ♥️
❤ yes at 6:29 🇵🇸
The name pronunciations are hilarious.
Once again Vingegarrd unimpressive; seems only impressive in the Grand Tours. This is why he is suspicious to me.
Pogacar mentally broke Vingegaard during the last tour de france
At least for this season
Mentally Jonas does not seem to break. But physically yes. I’m team Pogi. I think Jonas is tougher mentally. It makes sense, he’s a lot less emotional (or maybe private) compared to Pogacar
I guess you're too young to understand sport. It's a business, a show, it's scripted and planned. 'Tactics' are akin to 'lines' in a movie, choreography for a dance. It's predetermined. It's a pantomime.
OK, but poor quality commentary.
Vingegaard continues to just prove that he is just not good enough. Putting him as 5 best rider in the world at best at this point he simply isnt any better anything else is a stretch. He is just not good enough.
Nope, Jonas is just training for the tour of Poland.....
@@JoselitoMayores hahah lmfao did you even hear what the team and he said they wanted to win this like emotional damage much? He isnt good enough. Learn to read or just grow up.
@@JoselitoMayoresmy bet is jonas will dnf tho tour of poland. i dont see that he has any interest in the rest of the season
Haha, he just came 2nd at the TDF and smoked everyone but Pogi. Before his crash he won more or less everything he participated in. Not good enough? Get real man... Seems to be fatigue. Hopefully Visma gives him a long rest so he is ready for 2025.
@@PapandDK he is not good enough. Never been close to pogacar he is decent but not close to Pogacar. Evenepoel is a better overall rider than him so is MVDp and WVA he is nr 5 in the world at most. Which this again showed, like I said just not good enuogh he is decent thats it.
UAE still full mutant. Hope they get banned from the UCI.
If UAE is doping it's virtually guaranteed most if not all major teams are doing it.
Big mad
why would they? hater
LOL Did you call for Jumbo to be banned the last two years?
@@BrianWelch-vc7xy That would be cool too.
Lanterne keeps saying He-or-She [Hirschi]. Wonder if he's talking about an Olympic boxer!
Vingegaard at no juice vs with juice 😂
Oh Jonas is definitely doping, otherwise he wouldn't be able to race at all.
