    Awesome video! I used this to change out the bank 1 sensor on my '05 Maxima 3.5 I was able to do it in about 45 minutes! I cannot even imagine what Nissan or another mechanic garage would charge to do this! 45 minutes and viola, no more check engine light or rough idle! Thank you for posting this kind sir!!

    Thank you so much for this very helpful video. I had the part, understood what it did, just didn't know where it was (and OF COURSE it was Bank 1 - everything on this Maxima is Bank 1). The paper in the socket was also very helpful. Another tip my dad gave me more than 30 years ago was to wrap a bit of electrical tape around the wiggly joint to stiffen it up just enough. Thanks again!

    Hey, great video, I used it last year to replace the Bank 2 sensor in my 2004 Maxima, now my Bank 1 is causing my Check Engine Light to light up, so I'm getting ready to do that one. My question is on the parts in your link, they are significantly cheaper than the OEM sensor I bought last year for Bank 2, and some of the reviews are saying they are not OEM like the ad states... have you or anyone else on here had problems with them? I really don't want to go to the trouble to replace the sensor (which looks like the more difficult of the two) just to have to take it back out and try to get a refund...

      I finally got a nice day and was able to replace the piece. This video was spot on and removing that first tubing piece made everything so much easier. I have one question for you. When I took the green piece off the sensor it came off VERY easily. I can push the middle of the green piece down and hear a click. Then put the sensor back in and hear another click. But the green piece comes out easily no matter what. Is this normal? It seems like the two pieces should stick together better and might be the real source of the error code.

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 років тому

      Kyle Wilkin sounds like that’s A normal condition for that connector. As long as you can pull on it and it does not come back off you should be good.

    • @kylewilkin8221
      @kylewilkin8221 6 років тому

      That's what I mean actually. I can hear the clicks but the green piece can be removed with very little force always. It is never "locked" onto the sensor enough that very slight pull will not remove it. Basically it is being held on by friction.

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 років тому

      Kyle Wilkin I’ve had this happen and to fix it I sprayed penetrating oil on the green connector.

      j georges on this when I had a code for bank one cam sensor. I put a lab scope on it but when I tested it and everything tested fine. The car would intermittently stall. This car belongs to my girlfriend so I wasn't going to take any chances and I replaced both cam and crank sensor. There is also TSB's on this problem with intermittent Stalling.

      Michael McMahon You can just change the one out. The reason why most people do it in pairs is due to Technical service bulletin that Nissan put out recommending that you change them together due to them breaking down from heat.

      Stephanie Otero sorry you’re having this car trouble. I would suspect the Crank sensor going out. It will have the same symptoms. A lot of times the dealer will replace all three at the same time

    If the code is pulling camshaft overtimed? Can it be a sensor or did the camshaft tensioner fail causing it to jump time???

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  3 роки тому

      From my experience if it is an overtime code the timing is off either because of the tensioner or change stretch

      Robert Sanchez I will check your engine oil. If it’s slow it’ll affect cam timing. If it’s low I recommend you change the oil reset the codes. After that I would look into crank sensor.And I’ve also gotten bad parts right off the shelf.

      TATYANA FIDDIS I would suspect it’s still miss firing. Maybe get the codes pulled to try to determine which one is causing the problem. It could be an injector. Also if the engine oil is low it will affect timing on this engine so make sure the Engine oil is full and clean.
