      dont use gas pen buy a proper one (it will heat the wire faster and wont burn the coat of the cabel as much, buy one with a thinner tip dont and cake on so much flux you can also buy a thinner tin and get a cleaning station it can be a sponge or a brass wool i prefer the sponge of how clean it gets inbetween soldering each spot some people hate it because the tip gets slightly cooler but i do precision work i want it done properly so i dont even notice it being cool when i pick it up again for the next one after arranging for the next spot also just flux one spot at a time and whatever flux this is its not the one and your using to much @@HARDWIRlNG

      A temperature controlled iron is best or a small 20 watt iron.
      Always use flux for every solder joint.
      Use a low temperature solder, like 60/40 rosin core.
      Clean your irons tip frequently. Start with a clean tip for every soldering event.
      Remember your soldering onto a printed circuit and the metal is very thin. If you overheat the metal it will fracture the next time it is flexed.

      I know this is an old comment but putting for anyone else that happens upon it having similar issues.
      I can almost guarantee that your wattage isn’t the problem, but rather some combination of a clean iron, tinning the tip (most important!), and using flux.
      It’s happened to me more than I’d care to admit that I don’t have my tip tinned and you’ll just sit there for ever waiting for that shit to melt and it just won’t lol

    What is flux?

    • @HARDWIRlNG
      @HARDWIRlNG  8 місяців тому

      The flux used in soldering helps remove oxides and promote solder flow. Common types include rosin flux and water-soluble flux. Choose the one that suits your solder and application, ensuring proper ventilation when working with flux-containing chemicals.

      You can but it’s well worth it to learn how to do basic soldering. Honestly this vid is a perfect example for a slightly backhanded reason. Not to hate on the OP but this is way less than ideal soldering, yet it still got the job done and with infinitely better results than glue/tape.

    Whatis flux?

    • @HARDWIRlNG
      @HARDWIRlNG  6 місяців тому

      Flux is a chemical compound that helps prepare the metal surfaces for soldering by removing oxides, promoting wetting, and enhancing the flow of solder. It typically comes in the form of a paste, liquid, or core within the solder wire.
