In speaking from personal experience, several co-workers of mine would notice I was a vegetarian and associate that with being an SDA, then express, "Hey isn't SDA a cult?" In my head I would roll my eyes. I was frustrated at how foolish these people were because at that time my mindset was: I worship God, I keep (try) the commandments, everything I believe is "Biblical", and I'm not some cooky offshoot koolaid drinking wack-job. How could I be in a cult? Although I would hide much of the Ellenisms and end-time cultish stuff from outsiders, much of the reinforcement in my mind was that I was "normal", and most SDAs around me were "normal" too because we all lived in a similar community, and insular thinking creates normalcy. Cults were understood to be, as you suggested, the Jim Jones type of cults. When you think about it, these extreme cults create a grotesque caricature that everyone can distance themselves from and point to. "I'm not in a cult like those wacky people!" "We are Bible believing Christians, not those extremist suicide pill/liquid swallowing nut jobs who follow a leader blindly!" However, there is a broader use of the word Cult when it pertains to Christianity. It should not be that you compare yourself to Jim Jones, instead compare yourself to Orthodox Christian beliefs. Do your beliefs create a different overall worldview than the body of Christ when it comes to pre-earth origin, salvation, the law, death, diet, a new source of prophecy, etc...? Do you hold convictions that Christians are going to be at war with you over the day you worship? Does your Jesus have different roles and salvific power than other denominations? Do you believe you have extra insight from heaven from some little red books in your parents bedroom that makes you peculiar from other Christians? Does your family frequently interpret what is going on in the news to support the claims that the world is "ending soon" to further support the little red books? It all comes back, as Myles rightly pointed out, to supporting Ellen and her visions. It's a never-ending treadmill to prove Ellen was right. But, what if she was not who she claimed to be? Have you ever thought about that and the implications? You would be following an organization that supports and uses your tithe to promote a false prophet/wack-job, just not a koolaid drinking one. It's more subtle. It's more difficult to escape. Learn about what Christianity believes from non-SDA sources and then compare that with SDA beliefs. Then you will see why it has been suggested that Adventism is a cult.

@@jsimoes9424 part of the great controversy narrative. Before deciding to try and save humans, the Adventist Jesus became an angel to seek to save those that rebelled with Satan. But not a single one accepted him. So he sunk lower to humans to try and save them. Never mind that Hebrews 2 explicitly says he doesn’t help angels, but the offspring of Abraham. His “brothers.” The “help” in that passage is referring to the incarnation and it’s comparing Jesus over and against the angels stating that He didn’t come to help them, only humans.

We all are God's creation, some people respect and obey God, some don't. Like in any forest, you find good trees and bad trees. Just because you find many bad trees in it, it doesn't mean the forest is no longer a forest. GOD'S CHURCH IS THE ONE THAT IS OBEYING HIM AND His divine word. That's why is called a remnent Church, as not too many people will remain in it. Don't judge the SDA church looking at some sda leaders, members, etc. God loves His church and will protect it at all costs.

In others shoes, we wouldn't do it...etc. it is easy to judge others. Toma had to touch the hands of Jesus, to feel His scared palms in order to believe that He is Jesus. People who walk, talked and eat with Jesus needed confirmation.

My interaction with Jehovah’s Witnesses has led me to investigate the connection between Johannes Greber, ex Catholic priest turned spiritualist and Watchtower teachings. J. Greber published a ‘translation’ of the New Testament as well as the book, ‘Communication with the Spirit World of God’ in the late 1930s. The New World Translation took over quite a number of verses from Greber’s NT, mostly ones which deny the Trinity and the divinity of Christ. Greber claimed that the ‘good spirit world’ corrected his false orthodox beliefs, thriugh mediums, especially his wife. The similarity between SDA and JW teachings on the one hand, and the demon-inspired ‘revelations’ on the other, is undisputed!
Before I became a Christian, I spoke to a priest who used the word heretical when describing the SDA church. And that did shock me and seemed very harsh to me but only because Holy Spirit touched my heart to move past my feelings and to look into the organization and it’s foundations, along with learning about real church history, I was able to know why is heretical and cultic. Sometimes shock, straightforward, and divisive language does allow people to be woken up, even if they are initially defensive for offended.
It's quite astonishing when Carholics say there is no salvation outside the 'true Church' (total BS BTW) that Adventist get upset, but if someone says they have left their SDA church, then they get the same condemnation such as 'you are lost because you are not saved because you disagree with God's "true, remnant Church"...' Not all people in those belief systems do this, but a lot do, and you can see all of that across all the comments section. I have also seen the faces of some SDA memebers when they learn people they are trying to reach go back to eating meat. It's like they ran over their dog. The horror and contempt is can actually be felt. While I may agree with SDA on several things, at least I have the humility to know that I am the last person that should ever go to Heaven because of the grace of Jesus and would never tell people that they are excluded and salvation is only exclusive to my group of worshippers. I leave that up to God and no one else.
Hello ~ You seem like a nice person. Our Lord Jesus Christ Established His Original Church, The First Church, The (c)Catholic Church. (c) indicating "Universal." Jesus desired One Church, led by a body of offices, which reported to Him, so to speak. Now, there are approximately 45,000 churches & denominations x however many congregants each with their own opinion, and no wonder everything is such a tangled mess. Once Again, God had a Plan and humans thought they could do better. That being the case, and a big Anywho, I have Faith that God peeks inside those beautiful brains He made for us, and knows (being Omnicient) what and where one's true intentions are. I think the only sermon one person may see is a night sky so full of stars, one can hardly see the "night" while a "city person" may never have stepped in any church but observed how some other people they knew comported themselves and treated people, and decided to live a good life too. Maybe/Maybe Not. Be the person you think Jesus and somebody else wants you to be. Thank The Good Lord that God is in control; I'm too rickety and tired to deal with running The Universe. Right Now, I'd be telling Saytan and his minions to get their hineys down to NC and SE USA and clean up that chitstorm they caused!!!
That's why is just a remnant church, a church made of many people coming from different churches. Not all SDA members will be saved. We look at people, what they say, what they do...and is not what God expects of us. It is important what God thinks of us, what relationship with Jesus we have, because in the end, He will be the one saying: go away, I don't know you, or He can say: come and enter the kingdom, I know you. It is important that He knows us...and for that we need to spend time with Him.
@@Greatcontroversy2025 Not in total agreement with the first statement. People do switch churches for many different reasons. Our local church seems to be more a family born oriented church with some members that came and went through the years. I think if people know there was much more to Ellen White than the pictures of the 'little old lady inspired by God' presented to people, there would be a lot less people join in the first place. I tried going back but something told me that some stuff just doesn't add up. One thing is the hatred and straight up accusations people get when bringing up their objections and the contradictions they see and hear. Just say you don't think Ellen White is a prophet and you are immediately a 'Catholic Sunday keeper' that is bound for hell. Not saying people in my local church are that way but I have seen what they and other churches say about people behind their backs.

Salvation is a personal think, I personally will be judged for my actions, my thoughts, etc. For my salvation is not impotriva what other believe, not their faith is taking in consideration, but mine. You see, Saul thought he did well persecuting others for believing that Jesus is the Messiah, until Jesus reviled Himself to Saul and corrected the situation. God is telling us in details, through the gift of prophecy the things that make us sick, the things that separate us from the Holy Spirit. What do you think the sin against the Holy Spirit means? The constant rejection. He talks, He tells me and I refuse to believe Him, because I can't see it possible, or because I don't like what He tells me. God chose to talk to us in person, He did that with Adam and Eve, through visions, Soul and later named Paul, through visions to Ellen White, who was a 3rd person to whom God asked to be His messenger. God asked 2 men prior, but they refused. See? God is not insisting, He asks and we have the freedom to choose, to believe Him or not, to listen and obey or not. It is our choice! The problem is, that once we refuse to believe God, Satan is taking control of our lives. Look at Jesus in the wilderness, after 40 days of fasting, if Jesus wasn't in a good condition with the Father through the Holy Spirit, He would have not discover that the angel of light is Satan. We need the Holy Spirit to pin point to us the truth, to tell us what comes from Satan and what info comes from God. We need to ask God to reveal to us what we need to do in order to receive eternal life. Ghideon asked and doubled asked if that is the voice of God, he wanted for sure to know that God Himself is talking and not Satan. It is ok for us to ask God, to be honest and double check. God will be pleased with our request and will answer. His name, His word ate at stake here, it is in His best interest to show us the way, the path to salvation. If we doubt something, now is the time to take it to Him, as time will come when it will be to late. The heart will harden and we will not believe Him anymore. Make an experience with God and let Him tell you and show you the way to heaven, as only HE is the WAY. ONLY THROUGH JESUS! Look at the man Jesus in the garden, at night, sweating blood and asking God if it is possible to take away the cup of suffering. He didn't use His attributes of God. We too, need to be in collaboration with God through Holy Spirit and do just God's will. Not the wai fits us, not the way we find it logical, we just need to want to obey Him, the same Jesus obeyed the Father. We can't afford to look at people and be affected by their words. Catholic church doesn't have all the truth, so, if people want to mock us, discredit us, judge us, consider us a cult, hate us and eventually kill us, means we are on the right path. The Priests were plotting to kill Jesus, why? Why they were hating Jesus? Because He healed someone on the Sabbath day. For them, their own tradition was more important than someone's health. What is important to us today? To denigrate sda church, or to obey God? We can't change people. We don't have the power to convict souls to Christ, only the Holy Spirit can do that. We loose time in explaining were other people got it wrong and we neglect our relationship with Jesus. The everlasting message of God's love for the world needs to be taken to other people. We need to mediate in prayers for other people, we need to be consumed by the wish of other people being saved. Let's pray for the people we think they got it wrong and let's move on. Now is the time to fulfil our mission. God gave each one of us talents and is waiting for us to use them in His field, for His glory. God is expecting us to bring to Him souls. If you download it, and save to a folder, then pull it up, will you be able to play it, or will YT have some snatching algorithm, or does it need to be played via a different source or platform? I once had an Audiobook off iTunes that they "discontinued" with no notice to me. I had to spend some quality time raising some special Hades (they were just Oh Well. And the only way to that is to change their vocabulary, throw out a bunch of half baked theories and word salads, and brush aside teachings that are fundamental to the actual SDA version of the Gospel in order to stay in business. I mean, how can they honestly say they are "restoring the Apostolic faith" when the Investigative Judgment is found NO WHERE in scripture nor anywhere in early church teachings.?

The Idea of The Seventh Day Adventists being a cult comes from Ellen G White herself in how she claimed that she received revelation from 'an angel', which is also where 7th Day Adventism traces it's roots to. Apostle Paul warned of this very situation to The Church in Galatia, and is even recorded in The HOLY Bible. Galatians 1: 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) 2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia: 3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. I also write these things because I received this Word of The LORD on 30th June 2023, directly from The Spirit of God, and was also confirmed by The LORD Jesus Christ Himself, after I further enquired of The LORD as to Which Member of The GODHead was Speaking to me. I made this further inquiry because of the unbelief I have encountered in The True Church this last almost 8 years (although this could be stretched to cover my whole Christian Journey), but The Only True and Stable part of my Christian sojourn has been The LORD Himself. I appreciate we all have our own choices to make, but I do implore and encourage folks to come to GOD, by The LOVE of GOD that I have received directly from GOD, that GOD is Absolutely True and Utterly Faithful, to rescue those who come to Him in Truth. I could rant much further about all that GOD has done in me and through me. But this would not be helpful to you, because you live by your own experience, and this is how your own belief systems are formed. So all I can actually do is ask of GOD to bless all who read this comment, and grant healing and grace as to where it is required in those whom GOD calls to Himself. The Church and Ms. White direct us to read the Bible and to not rely on writings of men (or women) for understanding the Bible. So, not a cult. You’ve defined a cult to suit your need to complain. We should not be comparing ourselves to popular orthodoxy, but rather the Bible. There are differences in interpretation of scripture. If you conclude differently, fine but that doesn’t make us a cult.
Myles is addressing official church doctrine, which is based on the SDA history of false prophesy and unscriptural beliefs, including Arianism. The founders clearly denied that Jesus Christ was the eternal, almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega, without beginning or end. They believed that only "God the Father" had this status. I will definitely agree that many SDA's understand the true, original Gospel of the New Testament and believe it. But the official church statements do not support this original Christian basis.

You do understand the church was born from men telling us that Jesus was coming back soon and the 'probationary period' was already closed. Then it was magically reopened for another year and 2 more disappointments? Was the church founders right about the door being closed. I also learned her contempt for people outside their church (other protestant churches) which she condemned back then becasue they were partakers of Babylon's sins? That seems very exclusionary to me. She's basically saying only the Sabbath keepers are saved through their belief system.

In speaking from personal experience, several co-workers of mine would notice I was a vegetarian and associate that with being an SDA, then express, "Hey isn't SDA a cult?" In my head I would roll my eyes. I was frustrated at how foolish these people were because at that time my mindset was: I worship God, I keep (try) the commandments, everything I believe is "Biblical", and I'm not some cooky offshoot koolaid drinking wack-job. How could I be in a cult?
Although I would hide much of the Ellenisms and end-time cultish stuff from outsiders, much of the reinforcement in my mind was that I was "normal", and most SDAs around me were "normal" too because we all lived in a similar community, and insular thinking creates normalcy. Cults were understood to be, as you suggested, the Jim Jones type of cults. When you think about it, these extreme cults create a grotesque caricature that everyone can distance themselves from and point to. "I'm not in a cult like those wacky people!" "We are Bible believing Christians, not those extremist suicide pill/liquid swallowing nut jobs who follow a leader blindly!"
However, there is a broader use of the word Cult when it pertains to Christianity. It should not be that you compare yourself to Jim Jones, instead compare yourself to Orthodox Christian beliefs. Do your beliefs create a different overall worldview than the body of Christ when it comes to pre-earth origin, salvation, the law, death, diet, a new source of prophecy, etc...? Do you hold convictions that Christians are going to be at war with you over the day you worship? Does your Jesus have different roles and salvific power than other denominations? Do you believe you have extra insight from heaven from some little red books in your parents bedroom that makes you peculiar from other Christians? Does your family frequently interpret what is going on in the news to support the claims that the world is "ending soon" to further support the little red books? It all comes back, as Myles rightly pointed out, to supporting Ellen and her visions. It's a never-ending treadmill to prove Ellen was right. But, what if she was not who she claimed to be? Have you ever thought about that and the implications? You would be following an organization that supports and uses your tithe to promote a false prophet/wack-job, just not a koolaid drinking one. It's more subtle. It's more difficult to escape.
Learn about what Christianity believes from non-SDA sources and then compare that with SDA beliefs. Then you will see why it has been suggested that Adventism is a cult.

Never mind that Hebrews 2 explicitly says he doesn’t help angels, but the offspring of Abraham. His “brothers.” The “help” in that passage is referring to the incarnation and it’s comparing Jesus over and against the angels stating that He didn’t come to help them, only humans.

In others shoes, we wouldn't do it...etc. it is easy to judge others. Toma had to touch the hands of Jesus, to feel His scared palms in order to believe that He is Jesus. People who walk, talked and eat with Jesus needed confirmation.

My interaction with Jehovah’s Witnesses has led me to investigate the connection between Johannes Greber, ex Catholic priest turned spiritualist and Watchtower teachings. J. Greber published a ‘translation’ of the New Testament as well as the book, ‘Communication with the Spirit World of God’ in the late 1930s. The New World Translation took over quite a number of verses from Greber’s NT, mostly ones which deny the Trinity and the divinity of Christ. Greber claimed that the ‘good spirit world’ corrected his false orthodox beliefs, thriugh mediums, especially his wife. The similarity between SDA and JW teachings on the one hand, and the demon-inspired ‘revelations’ on the other, is undisputed!
Before I became a Christian, I spoke to a priest who used the word heretical when describing the SDA church. And that did shock me and seemed very harsh to me but only because Holy Spirit touched my heart to move past my feelings and to look into the organization and it’s foundations, along with learning about real church history, I was able to know why is heretical and cultic. Sometimes shock, straightforward, and divisive language does allow people to be woken up, even if they are initially defensive for offended.

It's quite astonishing when Carholics say there is no salvation outside the 'true Church' (total BS BTW) that Adventist get upset, but if someone says they have left their SDA church, then they get the same condemnation such as 'you are lost because you are not saved because you disagree with God's "true, remnant Church"...' Not all people in those belief systems do this, but a lot do, and you can see all of that across all the comments section. I have also seen the faces of some SDA memebers when they learn people they are trying to reach go back to eating meat. It's like they ran over their dog. The horror and contempt is can actually be felt. While I may agree with SDA on several things, at least I have the humility to know that I am the last person that should ever go to Heaven because of the grace of Jesus and would never tell people that they are excluded and salvation is only exclusive to my group of worshippers. I leave that up to God and no one else.

Hello ~ You seem like a nice person. Our Lord Jesus Christ Established His Original Church, The First Church, The (c)Catholic Church. (c) indicating "Universal." Jesus desired One Church, led by a body of offices, which reported to Him, so to speak. Now, there are approximately 45,000 churches & denominations x however many congregants each with their own opinion, and no wonder everything is such a tangled mess. Once Again, God had a Plan and humans thought they could do better. That being the case, and a big Anywho, I have Faith that God peeks inside those beautiful brains He made for us, and knows (being Omnicient) what and where one's true intentions are. I think the only sermon one person may see is a night sky so full of stars, one can hardly see the "night" while a "city person" may never have stepped in any church but observed how some other people they knew comported themselves and treated people, and decided to live a good life too. Maybe/Maybe Not. Be the person you think Jesus and somebody else wants you to be. Thank The Good Lord that God is in control; I'm too rickety and tired to deal with running The Universe. That's why is just a remnant church, a church made of many people coming from different churches. Not all SDA members will be saved. We look at people, what they say, what they do...and is not what God expects of us. It is important what God thinks of us, what relationship with Jesus we have, because in the end, He will be the one saying: go away, I don't know you, or He can say: come and enter the kingdom, I know you.
It is important that He knows us...and for that we need to spend time with Him.

Our local church seems to be more a family born oriented church with some members that came and went through the years. I think if people know there was much more to Ellen White than the pictures of the 'little old lady inspired by God' presented to people, there would be a lot less people join in the first place. I tried going back but something told me that some stuff just doesn't add up. One thing is the hatred and straight up accusations people get when bringing up their objections and the contradictions they see and hear. Just say you don't think Ellen White is a prophet and you are immediately a 'Catholic Sunday keeper' that is bound for hell. The constant rejection. He talks, He tells me and I refuse to believe Him, because I can't see it possible, or because I don't like what He tells me. God chose to talk to us in person, He did that with Adam and Eve, through visions, Soul and later named Paul, through visions to Ellen White, who was a 3rd person to whom God asked to be His messenger. God asked 2 men prior, but they refused. See? God is not insisting, He asks and we have the freedom to choose, to believe Him or not, to listen and obey or not. It is our choice! The problem is, that once we refuse to believe God, Satan is taking control of our lives. Look at Jesus in the wilderness, after 40 days of fasting, if Jesus wasn't in a good condition with the Father through the Holy Spirit, He would have not discover that the angel of light is Satan. We need the Holy Spirit to pin point to us the truth, to tell us what comes from Satan and what info comes from God.
We need to ask God to reveal to us what we need to do in order to receive eternal life. Ghideon asked and doubled asked if that is the voice of God, he wanted for sure to know that God Himself is talking and not Satan. It is ok for us to ask God, to be honest and double check. God will be pleased with our request and will answer. His name, His word ate at stake here, it is in His best interest to show us the way, the path to salvation.
If we doubt something, now is the time to take it to Him, as time will come when it will be to late. The heart will harden and we will not believe Him anymore.
Make an experience with God and let Him tell you and show you the way to heaven, as only HE is the WAY. ONLY THROUGH JESUS!
Look at the man Jesus in the garden, at night, sweating blood and asking God if it is possible to take away the cup of suffering. He didn't use His attributes of God. We too, need to be in collaboration with God through Holy Spirit and do just God's will. Not the wai fits us, not the way we find it logical, we just need to want to obey Him, the same Jesus obeyed the Father.
We can't afford to look at people and be affected by their words. Catholic church doesn't have all the truth, so, if people want to mock us, discredit us, judge us, consider us a cult, hate us and eventually kill us, means we are on the right path. The Priests were plotting to kill Jesus, why? Why they were hating Jesus? Because He healed someone on the Sabbath day. For them, their own tradition was more important than someone's health.
What is important to us today? To denigrate sda church, or to obey God?
We can't change people. We don't have the power to convict souls to Christ, only the Holy Spirit can do that. We loose time in explaining were other people got it wrong and we neglect our relationship with Jesus. The everlasting message of God's love for the world needs to be taken to other people. We need to mediate in prayers for other people, we need to be consumed by the wish of other people being saved.
Let's pray for the people we think they got it wrong and let's move on. Now is the time to fulfil our mission. God gave each one of us talents and is waiting for us to use them in His field, for His glory. God is expecting us to bring to Him souls.

The Idea of The Seventh Day Adventists being a cult comes from Ellen G White herself in how she claimed that she received revelation from 'an angel', which is also where 7th Day Adventism traces it's roots to.
Apostle Paul warned of this very situation to The Church in Galatia, and is even recorded in The HOLY Bible.
Galatians 1:

The Truth is that Seventh-Day Adventism is truly a cult, and anyone who is trapped in it will not enter the Kingdom of GOD, but will be cast alive into the lake of fire with the devil and his angels at the end of The Millennial Kingdom of Christ.
There is also a strong reason why these issues are being brought up for too. It is because there are many who have been ensnared by Adventism, who came seeking The True GOD and The True LORD Jesus Christ but were deceived by charismatic people who took advantage of them.
I write these things because I know by experience the kindness and grace and mercy of The True GOD, and I seek to challenge every person on earth as to where they stand before GOD. This is So important now, because there is only just over 2 years left until the door for the peoples of the Gentile nations to get saved for eternity by GOD through The LORD Jesus Christ closes permanently on 31st December 2026.
I also write these things because I received this Word of The LORD on 30th June 2023, directly from The Spirit of God, and was also confirmed by The LORD Jesus Christ Himself, after I further enquired of The LORD as to Which Member of The GODHead was Speaking to me.
I made this further inquiry because of the unbelief I have encountered in The True Church this last almost 8 years (although this could be stretched to cover my whole Christian Journey), but The Only True and Stable part of my Christian sojourn has been The LORD Himself.
I appreciate we all have our own choices to make, but I do implore and encourage folks to come to GOD, by The LOVE of GOD that I have received directly from GOD, that GOD is Absolutely True and Utterly Faithful, to rescue those who come to Him in Truth.
I could rant much further about all that GOD has done in me and through me. But this would not be helpful to you, because you live by your own experience, and this is how your own belief systems are formed.
So all I can actually do is ask of GOD to bless all who read this comment, and grant healing and grace as to where it is required in those whom GOD calls to Himself.
GOD Loves you more than you could fathom in 1000 lifetimes. I know this by experience.

Us sda kids were told in no uncertain terms that we were not allowed to play with the girl from the Pentecostal church who was enrolled at the sda school.

Fortunately, when we were still in the church, we had many non-SDA kids there. So that wasn't a problem. But weirdly, my daughter was made fun of for "eating too healthy". We weren't even vegetarian, I just didn't feed her junk food or white bread. 🤦♀️

However, concerning blotting out of sins: in todays world we still have Sin, everywhere. So, when Satan is removed, killed or whatever, and with him all the evil, then we will have no sin no more. Myles: I’m an Adventist. I wouldn’t be an Adventist if Adventism required us to believe Ellen White or other dogma. Such requirement would define it as a cult.
However, there’s no such requirement. The Church and Ms. White direct us to read the Bible and to not rely on writings of men (or women) for understanding the Bible.
So, not a cult. You’ve defined a cult to suit your need to complain. We should not be comparing ourselves to popular orthodoxy, but rather the Bible.
There are differences in interpretation of scripture. If you conclude differently, fine but that doesn’t make us a cult.
Myles is addressing official church doctrine, which is based on the SDA history of false prophesy and unscriptural beliefs, including Arianism. The founders clearly denied that Jesus Christ was the eternal, almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega, without beginning or end. They believed that only "God the Father" had this status.
I will definitely agree that many SDA's understand the true, original Gospel of the New Testament and believe it. But the official church statements do not support this original Christian basis.

@earlmccoubrey7580 I used to believe that but it is shocking what I am learning about their history I was never told. You do understand the church was born from men telling us that Jesus was coming back soon and the 'probationary period' was already closed. Then it was magically reopened for another year and 2 more disappointments? Was the church founders right about the door being closed. I also learned her contempt for people outside their church (other protestant churches) which she condemned back then becasue they were partakers of Babylon's sins? That seems very exclusionary to me. She's basically saying only the Sabbath keepers are saved through their belief system.

The SDA fundamental belief 18 states that Ellen White is a continuing authoritative source of truth…. She herself claimed that her words were barricaded by a ‘thus saith the lord’ Therefore as an Adventist you are

Stop lying. It’s in your fundamental beliefs. The entire unique theology that makes the SDA the SDA ONLY comes from Ellen White and not from scripture.
