"just cause your the best doesn't mean people are gonna like you" such a true quote
Nova was nt the best. H did a lot of shitty things and all those moves he stole from indy guys.
Absolutely
*you're
@@brianlogan4243 The lucha guys too. No one in the audience liked him, but the Spanish guys where I live were ready to cut him. He was prob the most hated and least over guy I ever saw at an ECW match. Wrong heat kinda hated.
Sabu is one of the greatest of all time. Invented a style all his own and was a mad man with it. Glad to see he is doing better after Super Genie passed.
OMG it's rgt85!
Him and RVD are the greatest
Even then, he doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves.
Heck yeah he is. No doubt about it 💯
That’s why I have him on my roster in Fire Pro Wrestling Returns for the PS2.
So many wrestlers now need to take Sabu’s advice here.
“When the guy in the front row looks better than you, you’re not gonna make money.”
Except Dusty made a ton of money..... so that statement isn't always true.
@@djellis3951 Few people have the charisma that Dusty Rhodes had plus he could talk.
But Kevin Owens makes money from what I've heard.
Nick wayne
Nothing but love for Sabu he loves the business so much being a multi generational wrestler he didn't have a choice but to be a wrestler its in his soul. Nothing but LOVE 4 him and his family.
Sabu deserves the HOF. They should extend that olive branch and help a bro out. His time in Japan alone should qualify him before ecw or WWE
Has said many times he thinks the HOF is meaningless
Yup. But it's about money. He could use it and deserves it.
Can't argue with that! I believe he doesn't hold the HOF in the highest regard!
@@adamg9173 For a guy that still works, you lose money doing HoF/legends contract. They can control your bookings. It's why Honky Tonk man won't accept it. He'd lose money.
@@bigron8896 honkey went into the HOF in 2017
For me guys like Sabu are professional wrestling. They were not movie wanna be or models. I am sure he made money but not the kinda money that they make in the major companies today. I appreciate this channel and the interviews with the people who traveled the world and put themselves through insane schedules to open the door for the current Entertainment industry.
Always great to hear from a living legend like Sabu, love how candid he is
Holy shit a hybrid original Sheik, Tiger Mask, and Superfly Snuka. I never thought of Sabu like that until he just said it and it's a perfect description of him.
Right that’s what I thought it was a total lightbulb moment
@@ryankeefe6222 Me too man.
I had no idea sabu was this cool and talkative I would love to see more
Sabu rarely says anything bad about anyone.
He's been through a lot. He's still around and a good guy deep down.
Sabu it's the only wrestler, I could watch botch and try again and be like he nailed it.
Sabu is really nice and chill! He takes the business seriously too. I wish people like Sabu, Bret Hart, and others had control of the business.
Not Brett, he was a self centered idiot.
Sabu keeps to himself in the dressing room, BUT he looks out for the younger guys and always helps them out not just in the ring but being on the road, especially in foreign countries.
Lol on the tour bus the 3 great workers he patterned were the Sheik, Dynamite Kid, and Jimmy Snuka
I met Sabu at 5 am... in the woods. He was lit walking around. I told em roll w me. Ended up Turned on a festival stage and he partied w me was top 10 life moments. Sabu for life
Lol sure
Was it at the gathering ?
@@louiscaravana226 yes
Yeah....and then you woke up and thought "what a lovely dream"
@@subjectdelta4813 The Gathering of the Juggalos detail makes me believe him. Went to a few and shit would be going down all hours of the night if you just fucked off wandering and they would have wrestling matches at like 2am for Flashlight Brawls.
Insane Clown Posse still book the madman we know and love Sabu😁
That's a fact because Sabu has worked with JCW before and after the year 2000 and in a shocking turn of events, he's a former JCW World Heavyweight Champion
Whoop whoop
It's the Motown connection
ICP can't make music, but they are smart businessmen.
Sabu never says anything bad about anybody. The nicest guy in the world. I actually met him one time
well hes a person that had a gravitas and he basically killed himself for the most part
He didn't like TEST.
He ripped Brian Christopher.
He doesn't like Ric Flair
Just don't ask him about flair
I met Sabu before the pandemic started and he was super nice. Didn’t expect that 😂
He refused me an autograph before a show when balls Mahoney tried getting him to sign.
@@John-ju7to That sucks dude. Sorry to hear it
Whoa ! Snuka , Sheik and Tiger mask !!! Great combo !!! Sabu suceeded in his predecessors ! I can see ALL of that in his work !!!
It all makes sense
Great interview. Love hearing Sabu. He knows so many wrestlers and is always pretty open about his exploits. His uncle, the original Sheik, is buried near where I live in Michigan.
Wow, the Sheik, Tiger Mask, and Snuka totally equals Sabu.
Im glad farrooq got the crowd reaction he did when he one the championship. He has never forgotten it wasn't just black people applauding him, everyone was cheering. What a legend.
I will always remember exchanging jokes with Terry online while he was laid over in Japan waiting for his plane while i was doing much the same at my local DMV. Sabu is beyond being a legend in the squared circle, dude is just a legend. Period.
Absolutely love your channel, definitely one of my top 3 favorites!! Thank you for all these interviews you do!!! Really appreciate your work!
sabu like never shits on anybody in interviews. love sabu.
Sometimes he does. I recall him not saying flattening things about Otani
He certainly didn't hold back in his autobiography.
@@plovy5115is it worth reading?
I was a heel manager and worked a show with Sabu. Super cool guy. He did throw a chair and hit me in the face with it lol. But checked on me after the match in the back.
No idea if Louie Spicolli could’ve been a “top guy”/main event star but after his run in ECW (in particular his role in the Raven/Dreamer feud) and with the right booking/creative behind him, he could’ve been upper-mid. In an old RFVideo interview, he mentioned having interest from All Japan for at least a tour in ‘96 or ‘97 - I believe before he went to WCW. He would’ve only gotten better with that because, if you notice on his match listings, bigger international promotions like AAA and FMW loved him so it’s not crazy to think he would’ve done great in AJPW and been at least offered multiple tours. One of the most underrated American wrestlers of the 90’s.
He peed in a bottle and threw it out of a bus window on a tour in Japan supposedly sabu stooged him off and got him kicked off the tour
Louie was extremely underrated, I liked him a lot in AAA as "Madonna's Boyfriend" with LGL
Man - i've always heard bad things about Sabu but he always comes across as so likeable. He's so right about Nova. Nova is in the same class as Kanyon. Incredibly innovative, forward-thinking wrestlers. For whatever reason, they didn't go super over. But go back and watch any of their matches, you'll always see some innovative things...even some things never repeated to this day.
Sabu! Sabu! Sabu!! 😁
YT Translator: “meth! meth! meth!”
Sabu is my hero . No shit . HE along with ECW brought me back into wrestling . But it was mostly him . This man should be a fn millionaire ! His wild highflying hardcore style changed wrestling . He is the pioneer of this hybrid style . Just like his Uncle was before him , escalating the violence and making everyone BELIEVE !! Thats what its all about . Its a shame though that everybody watered down his stuff . Sabu is the man who will ALWAYS be remembered as the homicidal , suicidal genocidal table breaking madman who at that time was one of the only truly believable madmen in wrestling ! Dont get me wrong , i LOVE technical wrestling too . Hart , Benoit , Malenko , Zack Sabre Jr etc.. But SABU brought a unique never before seen aspect of wrestling to life ! Also RIP Milissa . That hurts me for him .
🍺⚡🍺
@@at0micwerew0lf cheers ! lol !
Sabu is the man.
It's crazy how thoughtful and reflective he is.
1 good thing to say about Ian Rotten that's positive, that no one can argue, is he has a great eye for young talent. Go look at his TPI tournaments from the early to mid 2000's. It's everybody that went on to become mega stars. Punk, Danielson, Cesaro, Joe, Rollins, Hero, Davey Richards, Roddy Strong. Abyss, Aries, just to name a few
I worked with Sabu here in Florida in February of 1989 when he was billed as Terry "Superfly" Snuka. I guess now we know why..
Thanks for asking about Albright, definitely love hearing about him.
I have not been to a lot of live shows, but I am happy to have seen Sabu wrestle Supreme in XPW REALLY up close. They came out into the seats and were like three feet in front of me. The two XPW shows I was able to get to were awesome!
In General, Sabu just seems like a real solid worker, a credit to any roster!
Sabu is a legend!! Always been my favorite wrestler. Wen I was a kid and the first time I seen him come up in the str8 jacket and Hannibal lecter mask and his style of wrestling I was all in
I've personally met sabu he's a cool dude met him with my friend here in Australia
Cool I'm an aussie too I never knew that he came here
They pulled em out. Incase some of the boys wanted to play jump rope ! Lol
Protect Sabu at all costs.
Sabu a legend
"He doesn't get the respect he deserves" and you lost me 😂
So strange, if I passed Sabu on the street I'd think he looked like just another homeless meth-head, instead of one of the most talented and insanely risk-taking beloved wrestlers of all time. It's a harsh business that dosen't age you well, that's for sure.
And this is why you don't judge a book by its cover
He did a ton of drugs ...
@@Norseman311 i think even that is an understatement
@@robertmoorefield670except that's exactly what Covers are for...to make a first impression.
Sabu and Spicoli had an excellent match in ECW ! I had it on VHS and watched it a bunch . I miss that era of ECW . 95 and 96 was red hot !!! I bought every tape i could back then . Without Sabu and ECW I may have stopped watching wrestling . Because I did stop for a while . My favorite thing on Earth became mostly shit in WWF and WCW in 93 .
Sabu is my favorite wrestler of all time. I've been saying it for years! I enjoy looking back at these interviews and enjoy watching him wrestling even more. Doesn't get any better than Sabu. He's a straight shooter and zero bulshit.
Seen Sabu at the gathering. ICP festival. Terry Funk too. It was awesome
So cool! So many legends have wrestled at the gathering
I'm related to Robert Fuller
And i never knew he wrestled with Sabu
Gary(Pitbull) is one of the nicest and genuine person you’ll ever meet, he’s also someone you do not wanna piss off. Much love to both Sabu and Gary Wolf
Sabu and his Uncle are actual down to earth people when you get to know them.
What's the story of Bob Holly breaking Sabu's arm? I don't think I've ever heard that story. Was Holly told to break his arm or was it an accident?
I'm not sure..but my guess is he is talking about how Bob was his replacement when he was pulled from an Elimination chamber match for not doing a promo and their excuse was he hurt his arm? I dunno that's all I can think it must mean
Love these quick shoot interviews.
I had the privilege of meeting Sabu and hanging out with him and Genie one night at a motel here in Western North Carolina it was a great time full of good stories and feeling good... One of my favorite memories in life...
No one wore those pants better then Sabu other than Hayabusa. The best of the best.
Ment Sabu at the gathering. Was awesome
Sabu has worked for JCW alot.
Only person I've ever heard say something nice about Ian rotten.
I need that jacket Sabu is rocking
It is pretty fuckin fresh
Aww man ! I miss Albright ! I still love watching his matches in Japan to this day on youtube . Would have LOVED to seen Kurt Angle vs Gary ! And many more .
Albright was great
@@lucag.lisickza425 indeed my friend !
That beer can story to close the clip😂 Sabu even has good jokes
Great interview 👏👏👏 Sabu's a good talker, he should manage.
if you ever interview Fonzie, ask HIM about Beulah lmao. the match those two had was one of those matches i'd show my friends that said wrestling was fake.
Beulah VS Fonzie (muta scale? more like fonzie scale)
Tajiri VS Psychosis (those kicks were like nothing i had seen/heard before)
Sabu VS Funk Barbwire match (i had a dvd with ALL of these matches on them i bought it at mediaplay)
ECW was real to all of us back then.
Love Sabu! great interview
A Fantastic ECW Legend A Great Interview
Sabu should be in every hall of fame.
I notice from other forums alot of people take shots at ICP. At least they should be respected for having the guts to get in there. I wonder if the key board warriors think this stuff is easy. It's not
Looking back on his career, Sabu had the best mic skills in the biz. No doubt.
Had fonzie talking for him
@@jamesmckeon9139 I know.....
Sabu is such a sweet man. I love listening to him.

If you just wanna see his 3 second clip of Icp 11:30
I havent listened to them since like 2007. I always listened to them from like 99-2005 when I was in high school. Its one of those things thats so oldschool I question if it actually happened. But I read Sabu's book he doesn't remember them at all. Violent J wrote a book and said all sorts of stories about Sabu. Sabu was with them on tour during the Invasion Angle.
So in other words,,Sabu likes everyone 👍😁
3:07-3:20 this isn't always true, Dick murdock, Dusty rhodes, the four horsemen and the freebirds all had dad bods and Drew a ton of money
Those are all pretty big dudes still.
And Spike Dudley didn't need muscles. It wouldn't have suited his character. Just like Mikey Whipwreck didn't need muscles. They were underdogs who were supposed to look like they didn't belong in there.
@@emperorburton they were big but they weren't the type of big that sabu's Uncle was talking about
Sabu used to have those arenas on fire for real.
Literally lol
Sabu is just nice as hell. I've never watched a shoot with him, really insult anyone or bury them. Just so polite
They would rip the blank pages out the Bible in hotels and roll joints with them. “Smoking scripture”
Sabu is underrated!
I had an ECW Sabi Tshirt in the 90s that I wore all the fucking time and absolutely fell into pieces and became cotton ribbons eventually
My brother hated wrestling, except for Sabu
Sabu was simply a cannonball. Launched himself of anything and used his body to hurt people
Too bad there isn't more people in the world like Sabu, old school. They don't make em like that anymore
i saw sabu come out at every ICP show i went to and he wasn't advertised.
Sabu is a RIOT! 😂😂😂
WHOOP WHOOP
Man, that Sabu vs. Jimmy Snuka match needs to be found.

The original Sheik was absolutely awesome.
The Original Sheik is who I grew up watching here in Michigan, he is one of my all time favorites
His feud with Johnny Valentine was legendary. Shame all those Big Time Wrestling tapes are lost to history.
@Marc Carran So people can tell the difference
@Marc Carran Iron Sheik asked and received permission from Original Sheik (Farhat) to use the name.
@@takerdust I believe Iron Sheik has said that the name Iron Sheik, at least the Iron part, was from Verne Gagne's wife. Like how "Hulk" in Hulk Hogan was supposedly from a promoter's wife too.

*When was this interview?*
I reffed a match years ago between Ian Rotten and Rollin Hard.
Sabu, Terry is a well spoken man, I think he could have worked on the stick, too bad he didn't.
I smoked with Sabu at a weed event a few years back they had a wrestling show there too hosted by dirty ron and Sabu hit a dude 16 times with a chair and then we smoked and he signed my ecw one night stand DVD easily one of the coolest days of my life got to smoke a joint with Sabu
