    When miso is used in desserts, the taste becomes mellower. It cuts through sweetness with its distinct umami flavour.
    I made dairy free version using canned coconut milk.
    I use red miso paste as it provides more depth in flavour and beautiful color.
    Red miso is made from mostly fermented soybeans with addition of other grains.
    White miso is made from fermented soybeans and rice. The taste is milder and sweeter.
    You can use white miso if that's what you have.
    Some miso paste has added dashi or kelp. Make sure to use basic miso paste.

    Make 200ml sauce
    Ingredients:
    150g white sugar
    45ml water
    150 ml coconut milk
    1/4 tsp lemon juice
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
