I made and wore a black velvet armband to school for a week when he died. I was so sad when he killed himself. Such a terrible waste. Still feel a pang of sadness.

Pete Duel had no idea the people he touched with how good an actor he was. If he wasn't the right person in every role he played, we wouldn't still be talking about him and missing him. His potential knew no bounds...he just couldn't feel what we saw...

I still love him. But more Pete 💓 than Hannibal Heyes. Pete gave Hannibal Heyes the loveable Charme, his Beauty and Charism. Hannibal Heyes ist only so unforgettable through Pete acting this character. ❤ Such a great actor! Which sucess had could become to him, If he doesn' t made suizid?
Pete didn't like this series. The workdays were long and they took a toll on his health. He was hoping that the series would not be renewed for another season, but it was. Combine that with 1) an emotional phone call from ex-girlfriend Kim Darby the night of December 30th, 2) an argument with his current girlfriend Dianne Ray, 3) the realization that he couldn't beat his alcohol addiction, and 4) an ongoing battle with depression -- and, well., we all know what happened.

So sad but suicide is not the solution. Many actors failed stardom for years then rebound in plethora of success. Like Sylvester Stallone who was homeless from 1968 till 1969 now owns 400 million dollars and very famous. Don't give up until God decide.

I had two heroes from my childhood. Bugs Bunny(please no laughter) and Hannibal Heyes., I have this video saved to a playlist entitled "Heyes." I play that playlist almost daily. Just wanted you to know how much I love it.
