The biggest difference btw ncaa d3 and ACHA d1 club (top 25 schools) is age. D3 has gotten pretty embarrassing now with players ranging from 20-26 year olds lol
Wouldn’t call it embarrassing, D3 and ACHA D1 have always had older players, as most freshmen in these two leagues start at usually 19-21. The reason you’re seeing 26 year olds is because some players used their Covid eligibility year to play the year they missed.
@@ahadvising8 I mean I played d3 hockey 15 years ago as a true freshman age and yes I understand what you mean, but the rosters now and older than I’ve ever seen before especially in d3. Just my two cents but I get what you mean
d3 hockey is 25 times better than when you played, d3 when you played is comparable to mid level current acha d1 teams, the more competitive a league gets the older the players will be because teams wont recruit out of high school @@sharkgrayc7z06corvette9
