I hate when people mistake unique with weird. I love smaller stadiums & their uniqueness. I hate all these new sterile generic boring stadium designs where they all look the same; cheaply done, no character, & a copy & paste from other stadiums. This is one reason why i love college football. The variety & uniqueness to each university & their culture & traditions. Yes, their stadiums are a big part of their tradition & culture.
The second one is University of Mary HARDIN not harlin Baylor! Beautiful stadium. My college that I attended was in the same athletic conference as them, they are a top tier team, very hard to beat.
That huge building on the visitor side at UMHB is the student center. A lot of pre game activities happens outside and inside as well as hosting recruits before kickoff. Amazing views of the the game from all 3 levels.
bowman grey stadium home of winston salem state it had its own show on tv at one time called the mad house its one of the oldest active Nascar sanctioned tracks in america opening in 1937 it hosted NASCAR cup series from 1958-1971, wake forest 1956-1968, winston salem state has always played there an high school football games have been held there Bobby Allison won the final Cup race there
Super critical of these small programs that literally make $0 money off of sports. They give 1000’s of kids an opportunity to play sports after high school AND get a quality education. I played DIII football……best experience of my life! I wasn’t good enough to play D1……but I had the time of my life and got a great education!
I would add how much fun it is to watch athletes challenge themselves and their opponents because they love the game they are playing and the accomplishment of playing their best. Two of the best reasons for sport.
Nothing wrong with these stadiums. Not sure what your point is here. Yea they aren’t the Shoe or the Big House but so what. And for what it’s worth, there is a golf course next to the Rose Bowl as well.
I've been to some D3 football stadiums that would be quickly rejected for being too small..... for high schools. Would love to see a video on college football stadiums that seat less than say about 2K or 3K because there's actually a lot of them at this level.
I disagree, I think the building behind the stands at Crusader Stadium looks pretty cool. The gameday photo looked nice. And its cool to look at the stadium during the day when students are just hanging out.
Does the Canyon ISD still use the old West Texas A&M stadium for high school games? I noticed high school logos in the end zone, including Randall High School which has the same logo as the NFL Raiders.
Your 1st picture of GVSU at the end is the updated stadium, no track. the 2nd one it has a track which was renovated to remove, and added seating. Time to do more research.
Really good considering football doesn't have the option of goofy Dimensions that baseball does. The one with the Student Union reminded me of my alma mater, the College of Wooster. Obviously a much smaller school but still, we have our Student Center, Lowry center, with just a patio separating it from the football field. The fighting Scots band wears these fancy Kilts and before each game you see 100 people playing Bagpipes in marching down the hill to the field. Epic. I wonder if they have some sort of tradition with the Student Union and the stadium in the one you pictured.
The Braves play in Cobb County. No such thing as Cumberland County. Stadium was built in the middle of a heavy urban area. No forest was hurt in it construction.
The Bluefield State stadium is really cool. It's a little more than a 2 hr drive from here so it would be a nice drive to go check it out and maybe even take in a game.
Ok I like the stadiums that have an other building's window overlooking their field. Boone Pickens stadium had G'Iba arena that overlooked the field and I think it was beautiful from an architectural standpoint. It was also cool to walk around the basketball arena and look at the football field in the offseason. Now it's covered with a massive scoreboard but I love architecture.
I played d3 football and did play a game at suny Cortland it was big and I remember right the reason it’s weird is because the ny jets used the school for training camp
Mitchell Stadium is home to both Bluefield State and Bluefield University but is known as the best high school stadium in America. Stadium is in WV but on the border with VA and is almost 100 years old. My high school and BU are in Virginia but play in West Virginia
UMHB building has multiple broadcast booths, scoreboard control room, and suites to watch the game. Behind the endzone is the hangout area and is accessible to both sides of stands
My older sister is a Bluefield State College/University Alumni graduating in the late 60's. The stadium is in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia.
8:03 Humboldt State - now known as Cal Poly Humboldt - dropped D2 football a few years ago (I think it was pre-pandemic). 8:40 West Florida opened a new football stadium a few years ago and have left Blue Wahoos Park.
Wildcard: Washburn Field (Colorado College; shut down their football program after 2008, but the venue is still used for other sports). Stands are only on one side, but it’s a beautiful view of Pike’s Peak on the other side. It’s also the oldest college football facility west of the Mississippi River, hosted its first game in 1898!
There are a few of those Stadiums built into the ground here in Texas. The aforementioned one at West Texas, Bower Stadium at Sam Houston State, and Rose Stadium in Tyler. While Rose Stadium is owned by Tyler Independent School District it is also the home of the Tyler Junior College Apaches.
You should take a look at the fcs school university of central Arkansas. Their field is purple and gray. The pretty much copied bosie state the same time they announced the field changing that they would do it too
incorrect. Boise State laid down the Smurf Turf for the first time back in 1986. UCA didn't lay their purple and gray turf until 2011. My son went to school at UCA about this same time.
Some fun facts FBS's smallest stadium belongs to Kennesaw State as it's not even 9k Capacity, the biggest FCS stadium that doesn't come from a HBCU or Ivy is Grizzly Stadium in Montana at ~25k capacity the biggest D2 Stadium is Bowman Gray as you said, 22k. the biggest D3 Stadium is Perkins Stadium in Wisconsin-Whitewater. 13.5k Absolutely wild how so many stadiums are bigger than Kennesaw's yet they're in lower divisions.
If you haven't already, look at Young-Wise in Conway Arkansas. It's a real gem of a D3 complex. Its really new. 2012-13 was the first year. Hendrix College.
The Redwood Bowl on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt (formally Humboldt State University). Home of the Lumberjacks! Arcata, California... Max capacity is somewhere around 8,500-9,000. The mighty redwood trees tower high above the stadium and help amplify the crowd noice and the marching band.
Humboldt State no longer has football, as common for California State Universities, lack of interest. The stadium is unusual in that it has roof over the home side bleachers (lots of rain when you get near Oregon!). College is now officially Cal Poly Humboldt, but still normally called Humboldt State.
If you're going to comment and rate the stadiums, at least have visited them instead of just looking at pictures! And, 8t Bowman GRAY...not GARY! Like the color, not the man's name
Mary Hardin Baylor got their JV team spanked by a Team that is just getting started which is Centenary out of Shreveport slow your roll there Bud. They’d get crushed by any FCS school the lower teams included.
you missed out on augustana university South dakota their stadium is quite odd along with university of sioux falls both d2 schools. take a look at those
Bluefield is where im from, the one endzone going to the parking lot the goal post didnt have nets until about 10 years ago and theyd have football managers in the parking lot to catch the football. Its bluefield high schools field Bluefield state and Bluefield college pay to use it along with graham high school in Virginia. And both middle schools its home to like 6 teams plus pop warner
Actually at full capacity holds 14000 fills up the seats and track for beaver graham game can't even walk. Per capa we have like 22000 people in both towns so everyone is at the game
The Atlanta Braves play at Truist Park in Cobb County, Georgia and not Cumberland County, Georgia, The ballpark is in a complex called The Battery Atlanta and is about ten minutes away from Cumberland Mall.
love to see my old stomping grounds of Lubbers in there i though you did use a +15 year old photo. I dont know if too many of those were "weird" but some additions for part 2, Superior Dome for NMU, Bemidji state, North alabama (no longer D2 but worth it) has lions in the endzone or did, and i dont there are a couple nice ones out east for D3 but my knowledge is lacking of those.
I was told it has not been used for much of anything since 2019 when football was "suspended" after a NCAA Div III record 53 straight losses and this after major upgrades with a phony/fake playing surface, new larger bleachers and press boxes as well as new and larger locker and training room as well as lights..@@hanyuzhu7276
Bowman Gray. Never disrespect the madhouse like that again😤
honestly, he may have dyslexia, be nice.
The braves play in Cobb county

It is Bowman Gray, not Gary.
The Yale Bowl is pretty interesting, and its name is the origin of the term "bowl" for bowl games.
That Blue Wahoo Stadium looks like a minor league ballpark because it is. It's the home of the Miami Marlins AA affiliate, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
That huge building on the visitor side at UMHB is the student center. A lot of pre game activities happens outside and inside as well as hosting recruits before kickoff. Amazing views of the the game from all 3 levels.

Richard Petty won his 100th race there.
Bowman Grey used to be Wake Forests stadium before Winston-Salem State took over.

Naia definitely makes money on sports they just don't spend as much on them...
Braves play in Cobb County. There is no Cumberland County in the state of Georgia
Nothing wrong with these stadiums. Not sure what your point is here. Yea they aren’t the Shoe or the Big House but so what. And for what it’s worth, there is a golf course next to the Rose Bowl as well.

Not
Bowman GARY
I disagree, I think the building behind the stands at Crusader Stadium looks pretty cool. The gameday photo looked nice. And its cool to look at the stadium during the day when students are just hanging out.
It's Bowman-GREY Stadium, not Bowman-Gary, you need to get things correct if you make a video...
The fuck most of these are perfectly normal
Bowman GRAY (as in the color)
Not Garry
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
The Braves are in Cobb county Georgia. The city is Cumberland
Does the Canyon ISD still use the old West Texas A&M stadium for high school games? I noticed high school logos in the end zone, including Randall High School which has the same logo as the NFL Raiders.
Yes, they bought the stadium from the university.
Do you do any actual research? It's Cobb County for the Braves and it's not Mary Harlan.
Ursinus College used to have a giant sycamore tree in their endzone about 7 yards to the right of the goalposts.
Your 1st picture of GVSU at the end is the updated stadium, no track. the 2nd one it has a track which was renovated to remove, and added seating. Time to do more research.
Bro Humboldt state doesn’t have a team anymore, they cut the program, also u pronounced umhb wrong
Do a video about FCS stadiums… EKU is an odd one
You should do College Baseball Stadiums
Really good considering football doesn't have the option of goofy Dimensions that baseball does. The one with the Student Union reminded me of my alma mater, the College of Wooster. Where’s SUNY Morrisville?
They have the black turf, right?
The Braves play in Cobb County. No such thing as Cumberland County. Stadium was built in the middle of a heavy urban area. No forest was hurt in it construction.
Lol I was lost when he got to the forest part, like "I lived 5 minutes away when the stadium was built, where was that forest at?"
@@xfacta334 I lived off Windy Hill 32 years ago and no forest then either.
Sorry, it’s Bowman *Gray* Stadium.
The Bluefield State stadium is really cool. It's a little more than a 2 hr drive from here so it would be a nice drive to go check it out and maybe even take in a game.
Benedeti-Wherli Stadium - North Central College is (in my biased opinion) the best d3 stadium. Even hosted MLS games back in the day!
It's Bowman Gray aka The Madhouse and they DON'T play football while a race is going on. The racing season ends before football season starts.
UMHB: University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
Truist Field is in Cobb County, GA, not Cumberland County
West Texas is actually West Texas A&M
Ok I like the stadiums that have an other building's window overlooking their field. Dude didn’t even talk about that part of it. The other uniqueness of it is the location and all the teams that play there because of it.
@@SpacemanEzy Yes and they used to have Virginia Tech and Marshall games there
UMHB building has multiple broadcast booths, scoreboard control room, and suites to watch the game. Behind the endzone is the hangout area and is accessible to both sides of stands
Should have mentioned Clemens stadium also known as the natural Bowl which is home to St Johns one of the best d3 Fanbases in the country
You bring up unique 2 deck stadiums in D2, but don't bring up Carnie Smith Stadium which built a second deck more than 20 years ago.
Bowman Gray. Like the effin color. Duck bro. You can call it the madhouse
Bowman Gray (not Gary)
It’s Bowman Gray not Bowman Gary
Bowman gray not gary😂
Crazy to think Cortland won the National Championship this year
Check out Moretz stadium, one of the best in DII

Bluefield, Virginia, is the better Bluefield.

I respect D3 for getting creative. It is kinda like single A baseball stadiums. Limited seating due to very small crowds.
WT's old stadium you could take some cardboard and slide down the big hill in the endzone.
Thanks for the video.
I like the Bluefield, West Texas, and Humbolt stadiums.
Talk about Duquesne University’s stadium division 1 fcs. Tiny, no one ever goes to games
